Three Things I'm Aiming For In 2019

Three Things I'm Aiming For In 2019
I haven't given myself any resolutions or aims to achieve since 2015 and i think now that i am in a happy place both job and home life wise, i would really make this year worth it. I have so many plans already in the work, i am planning to fully enjoy my free weekends and bank holidays with my friends and family, especially in the the summer!

I thought i would give myself three aims to get my butt in gear.

1. Become at peace with the gym
I joined the gym back in November with the instinct to really hit it hard during the last two months of the year to get me prepared to become fit and healthy in 2019. Its safe to say that didn't work out well but my mission is to make this happen this year. I know a lot of people say they want to become fit every new years but i am not too fussed about being a gym bunny or having a perfect body. I am more interested in becoming more healthy and maybe losing the extra timber around my stomach crossing fingers. Wish me luck! I am already searching the internet for healthy dinner ideas which will hopefully encourage me to keep on track.

2. Use up my makeup / skincare collection
I have said before on twitter and Instagram that i really want to shop my stash this year and use up my never ending collection. I am putting myself on a spending ban until my collection has been reduced significantly, that way i use up all my products instead of letting them go bad in my draws. I only have one face so i don't need a ridiculous amount of products. This will also mean i get to try lots of products which i have forgot about in my collection.

3. Save save save for the wedding!!
It has been a year and a half since Cal and I got engaged and we think it is about time we finally start making plans. This year we are planning to hard core save so hopefully we can plan a day both of us enjoy. We are in no rush to actually walk down the aisle, maybe in the next 5 years before i turn 30. Ideally i would like to have one child before we get married so that we can have the the child as a flower girl/ page boy. I already know Callum and I will last the whole 60 without killing each other so i don't feel like i need the big white wedding before we have kids.  So we start saving now and we don't get married for another 5 years then hopefully our savings will be amazing!!

The hardest out of the three aims is definitely the gym but i have some proper gym clothes, some new trainers and a whole load of cute summer dresses i want to feel comfortable in.

What are you planning to do with your year?

My Royal Wedding Party & My Favourite Outfits

Wasn't the royal wedding just gorgeous? It was better than I expected and everything I wanted it to be. I have to honest I wasn't the biggest fan of Meghan before the wedding but seeing them two together and looking so in love, I'm a big fan now. She looked absolutely flawless.

As soon as the wedding was announced 6 months ago I decided I wanted to have a wedding party at my house because I missed William and Kate's wedding because of work so nothing was making me miss this one. Callum did make fun of me for all the effort I put into the food but it was my first party in my new house!

For food I over bought and stocked up on savory and sweet snacks. My savory side of the table included sausage rolls, cocktails sausages, scotch eggs, bread sticks and dips, hot cross buns and cherry scones. All the good food you can imagine! Then on the sweet side included jam tarts, chocolate fingers, cherry bakewells, viennese whirls, jammy dodgers, short bread and party rings. I did over buy on the food but you never want to run out of food, Callum is very happy with the left overs he has now for lunch.

Before the wedding started I prepared all the food for 11 which was when everyone was arriving and I think my spread looked pretty impressive if I do say so myself. Once everything was ready for the party I finally got ready and dressed, probably too dressed up to watch a wedding on the tv round my own house but any excuse to get dress up am I right?

Then it was wedding time! The girls all came round for 11 so we could watch all the guests arrive at the church and boy was David Beckham representing.  Both Callum and I have a crush on him but his is probably bigger than mine! The girls from the Suits cast looked absolutely amazing and even though I have never watched an episode in my life, I knew exactly which girls they were because of their amazing outfits and presence. My favourite outfit of the day has to be Amal Clooney in her amazing yellow Stella McCartney dress, she was the embodiment of class.

Another dress which caught my eyes straight away and was totally up my street was Abigail Spencer from Suits who looked stunning in her blue and white polka dot timeless dress by Alessandra Rich

When Meghan arrived she looked absolutely stunning and seeing her looking so beautiful and elegant made me fall in love with her. Her dress was so simple yet elegant and stunning at the same time, perfect for her. The ceremony was just absolutely perfect (except for the super long speech from the american priest)  and I loved how untraditional it was. Watching the way Harry looked at Meghan throughout the whole thing was so spell bounding you could tell how in love they both are and it is so romantic.

Once the wedding was over it was time to get my shorts on and get them sun rays from my garden. We all ended up having a sun bathing sess in my garden and continued pigging out on food.

I am so happy for the couple and seeing their wedding is making me so excited to plan mine and Callum's big day whenever we end up having it.

Wedding Series | My Pinterest Hair Inspo

Following on with my wedding series I have collected loads of photos off Pinterest of hair styles which I would love for my wedding day. I love the look of short and long wedding hair so choosing if I want to cut or grow my hair for my wedding is a tough decision. Although I am loving having a short lob style right now I have always wanted long wavy hair for my wedding so who knows which way I will go!

Since I want a outdoor garden/field wedding I want the boho hair to match so my perfect wedding hair would be loose wavys/curls with some french plaits and flowers in. I don't want to look like I have put a lot of effort into my hair so I want it to look quite natural and low maintenance. The flowers are optional depending on if I feel too silly in them, but again it is my wedding day so who should care but me!

All photos have been taken from Pinterest so make sure that you go over to my Hair board and show some love to the original photo!

Although I have no plans to get married any time soon that doesn't stop me looking through Pinterest for the perfect venue and the perfect dress. So I thought I would make a post to give you all an idea of what kind of day I would love and hopfully when it comes to it I can use this post to make it happen. All the photos shown I have found over on Pinterest and they will all be pinned to a board called 'WEDDINGS' so feel free to go over to the board to find the original image and show the person some love by pinning it onto one of your boards!

I have always wanted to get married outside in the middle of a field with wooden signs directing people to the right place and an alter covered in flowers and little cute white chairs all sitting in rows with ribbons. Turns out a lot of people think the same as me so I have found so many photos of exactly what I want!

As you can probably tell I am totally into simple English country style weddings so when ever I see photos of similar weddings I go crazy! Although my wedding is a long way off since we are in no rush now we have the house, I still love spending hours on Pinterest searching other peoples weddings. I am under no illusion that I will be able to have a wedding anything like this (especially with the state of the weather in England when it is suppose to be summer) but it is nice to window shop!

If you guys like this post I will do another all about my favourite design of dresses, hair and honeymoons!! A girl can dream right?!

PS remember to go over to my Pinterest to show the original photos some love! They will all be pinned in my WEDDINGS board for you!

I'm Engaged! Engagement Story ~

I'm Engaged! Engagement Story ~

So you can probably tell by the title of this blog post but... I've got engaged! It happened way back in May when Cal and I officially moved into our brand new home and I have mentioned words like fiance but not actually announced it. So here I am... announcing it!

Before I tell you how Callum proposed which I will tease you - it is super cute, I will give you some back ground about Cal and I. We have been together for 3 years now and we become friends when I was 16 so I have known him for 6+ years now. We first started talking on BBM -who actually remembers when everyone had BBM? Those were the good old days!- through mutual friends way back 6 years ago and at first we were just casual friends. Then over time we become best friends and would spend most of our free time together. Then 3 years back it all changed when we had a little cheeky kiss and I guess you could say the rest is history!

So we celebrated our 3rd anniversary in August - although we both forgot till the end of the month so technically we haven't celebrated alone yet... I feel a curry house date night! 3 years already I don't know how I've lasted with this milky bar kid.

Now for what you'll be waiting for and probably skipped to because your too impatient, the proposal!!

Callum proposed the first night we slept over at our new house and we had been out for most of the night. We arrived home around 11 in the evening after a bit of trouble with the parking , basically Callum parked in a car park next the bowling alley we were at that night and they locked the gates so he had to drive up onto the pavement to get out! I told him just to leave it and get someone to pick us up but he obviously didn't want someone else coming back to ruin the surprise. We arrived home to a pitch black house and I walked in to the house first and noticed some lines going up the stairs, at first I thought that maybe the builders have entered our house while we were out and left something. Once I finally found the light switch I realised the lines were colorful ribbon leading up the stairs with love hearts stuck on them.

As soon as I sure the ribbon and the love hearts I knew exactly what was happening and to be honest I was completely stunned. I couldn't move my feet. Callum had to push me up the stairs to our top floor bedroom where the ribbon stopped in front of the back wall. Leaning against the wall was a hand made heart shaped mirror (made by Callum) which has a post it note stuck to it which said 'will you marry me?' and fairy light lit up around it and a bottle of champagne and two flutes.

While we had been out all evening my parents had come round and placed the ribbon up the stairs and put everything in place. Apparently my dad helped to stick the hearts on the ribbon and if you saw my dad you would laugh out loud imaging him doing this like I did! He is not the most femine man so I bet he loved it! Typical cockney geezer...

As you can imagine I stood there stunned in silence for a long while Callum got the ring box out of its hiding space and opened the box to show me the ring. He then cheekily said 'do I have to get down on one knee?' which I said of course! The whole time I kept repeating 'is this a joke? is this real?'

I feel a bit like I have wrote a short story here instead of a blog post but the details are everything! It still feels weird calling Callum my fiance and if I am completely honest, even thought our relationship status has changed, nothing about our relationship has, we are the same since day one.

We have no plans to get married any time soon as we are in no rush to make it official but that hasn't stopped me looking at wedding posts, which has made me want to write wedding inspo posts so keep your eyes out for them!

I hope you are still awake! Leave me links to any wedding inspo posts you have written so I can get some ideas! xx
