Whats In My Makeup Bag

This is a half what's in my makeup bag / half April favourites post mashed into one so you are welcome! A few products have been creeping their way into my makeup routine and setting up shop there for weeks now so I think it is time to let them have their day (I think that's how the saying goes...). Here are some of my current favourites which are permanently in my makeup bag.

Some of these are old classics while others are brand new editions to my collection and at the minute, this mixture is what is making up my face. I am trying to use up some of my old products that have been forgotten about now so this might changes completely or not change at all. Lets see in the next few weeks!

Period Pain Remedies

Period, pain, remedies,

It's that time of the month again when I want to curl up into a ball and die. A little over dramatic maybe but we are allowed to over dramatize it since sometime it does feel like death is gripping us from within. I need a lot of home comforts to help me through this dreaded time and I am going to share them with you today. I am currently sitting here in bed with 4 of them on/being used, just waiting on Cal to finish watching football so I can have the last!

  • Lots and lots of chocolate - white, milk, in cookies, in bar form, with ice cream. Basically anything with chocolate on will be fine.
  • The most fluffiest Pjs I can find - matching off course with big slippers and a dressing gown to go with.
  • Lush showers daily- I always feel gross on my period so daily showers using the best smelly Lush products help me feel better.
  • Hot water bottles are life! Especially if they have a furry cover.
  • Big fat pillows to place in between your legs when you sleep - Please tell me I am not the only person who does this to ease the pains at night?!
  • I know I mentions chocolate but like any food at all will do. Home cooked is the best but takeaway does the job, especially if there is no one to cook it for me!
  • Big baggy joggers and a comfy hoodie - preferably the boyfriends as they always seem to be more comfy.
  • Lots of cuddles with the boyfriend - If you don't have one a teddy will do, they might even be better...
Now time to curl up listening to Shaun Mendes voice to sooth my sore belly...
P.S I couldn't find a photo to go with the post so have some snapchat selfies of me!

10 Things Frozen Has Taught Us

Frozen, list, life, lessons,

Frozen has become my all time favourite Disney film, of all time. I mean I know being a 90s girl I should secretly still love all the classics and I do, but Frozen has topped the charts. Since you guys really liked my Cinderella post, here are 10 things that Frozen has taught me...

  1. Sister are supper annoying and don't let anything go
  2. But family is the most important thing in the world
  3. Don't bottle up your emotions
  4. Always embrace your talents, don't hide them
  5. Snowmen are amazing especially when they can talk
  6. Don't let the haters push you into the shadows
  7. Always choose the blonde hair guy (hi Cal)
  8. Talking about your feelings feels so good
  9. Don't be ashamed that your child is different
  10. If your a princess, don't trust anyone with 12 brothers!

Barcelona Buys + Mac Makeover

Ahh being back from holiday is always bitter sweet. I missed my bed and room like crazy over there but being back at work makes me crave the feel of being in a different country.
I went back to Barcelona with Cal at the beginning of the month which was amazing but I have the holiday blues now I am back at work :(

Anywho I picked up a few goodies over there to try out and I have not been disappointed. I'll start with the first items I bought, a bargain pack of three Clinique lipsticks for £30 at the airport. Considering Clinique lipsticks can range from £16-20 each I think I done well with my purchase. In the pack you get three colours; Sweet Pop, Bare pop and Cherry pop and these are all colours that I would wear so I am really excited to try them.

Next I ventured into a random Spanish makeup shop and really wanted something to bring back with me so I purchased a lipstick for only 5 euros which is crazy cheap. The make of the product is called Etnia and the brands website is all in Spanish so I can't even tell you anything about them but I will let you know how I get on with it in case I make a try back to Spain for some more!

Lastly in Barcelona I came across a shop very similar to our Superdrug and Boots, which sold Revolution palettes for 4-5 euros. which is amazing! I controlled myself and only picked up two (but I could have walked out with them all). The palettes are Salvation and Iconic Pro which I am so excited about! I already have some favourite shades which I can't wait to use.

When I came back from holiday I also had a little late birthday surprise present from my sister which was a Mac Makeover in the Debemhams store in Mk. I have always wanted to try out Mac foundation but after a bad experience where a girl matched me wrong and I ended up looking ill and ghost like, I have steered clear of them so this was really exciting for me. I got her to teach me how to do soft smokey eyes and a cute little cat flick, I didn't take any photos of the makeup annoyingly before I went to bed so I can't show you but I would definitely recommend the experience! It costs £30 for the session and then at the end you can take home £30 worth of Mac products which I think is a great deal.

I picked up the foundation she used on me which was the Mac Studio Fix Fluid in NC15 and a Cremesheen Glass Gloss she used on me in the shade Delight. Both I have used everyday since purchasing them tbh! The only annoying thing about them is that the foundation didn't come with a pump, what foundations now a days don't include pumps??

I'm sure most of these products will crop up in a makeup look or favourites post soon so this won't be the last time you see them. I'd love to know what other Mac products you think I should I try out!

3 Step Skincare - Barcelona Edition

Travel Skincare Barcelona Clinqiue Lush

I only recently posted about my travel skincare routine in February and I already have another post for you, this one is slightly different as this is my Barcelona edition. Obviously when you go abroad you can't take a lot of products with you because of baggage allowance, plus I don't spend a lot of time in the room on holiday so I don't want to spend ages pampering myself.

The first product I used everyday is the Lush Ultrabland Cleanser to remove my makeup and the cleanse my face first thing in the morning. This product is great to quickly and thoroughly clean your face and get all the dirt and makeup off. I forgot about this product for a good few months when I turned a little lazy and got obsessed with my miscellar water, but when I was packing for my holiday I couldn't not take it. Since using it I have become obsessed with the product again because it has little gritty particals in that really work the dirty on your skin so you can feel the product picking up the dirt.

After I have took my makeup off I used the Lush Kalamazoo Face and Beard Wash which I have recently become to love. I took it on holiday as it was a good size pot to pack which wasn't going to weigh me down and I have ended up really growing to love it. I never used to feel like it did much to my skin before but since using it on holiday, I really see and feel a difference in my skin when I don't use it. It leaves my skin really soft before I've even used any moisturiser.

Lastly to put moisture back into my skin before I apply my makeup, I used my all time favourite moisturiser which I finally got back in my life, the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising lotion. This has been my holly grail for a few years now and I finally have a bottle of it rather than a tub which I am very happy about! I have mentioned this moisturiser a lot of times on this blog so I won't blabber on too much about it but it is the best moisturiser I have ever used as it leaves my skin hydrated all day.

And that is my simple no fuss skincare steps, have you tried any of the products?
