Summer Capsule Shoe Collection

capsule, capsule wardrobe, chelsea boot, classic, collection, fashion, loafers, Newlook, sandals, shein, shoe, summer,

Summer time in England can be unpredictable at the best of times so having a good array of shoes to see you through the hot-ish months is essential. I have collected my four most worn shoes to create this capsule shoe collection for you and as you can see from the photo, they are very worn and much loved. Hopefully you will know by now that I do not buy clothing and shoe items very regularly as I try to invest in a more capsule wardrobe, so most of the shoes wont be on sale anymore, I will find alternatives for you.

Starting off with the pair of shoes which shouldn't be included in a summer shoe collection but of course they need to be, is a good Chelsea boot. On them days when the heavens open but it is still 20 degrees, these are a prefect shoe to pair with a little skater dress with some sun kissed bare legs. This black pair is very old from Newlook but are still is pretty good condition considering the number of times I have worn them over the years.

My second pair of shoes is the classic brown sandal which goes with almost every outfit in my wardrobe. This pair is again from Newlook and are super comfy to wear on long walks and in the hot weather. These are my go to pair when we have just got home from work and want to go on a walk straight away.

My last two pairs are a little more smart but also classics pairs in spring and summer. I think that loafers go with anything in any season so having a black and white pair are a staple in your shoe collection. My backless white pair is from Shein and my black pair are from - you guessed it -  Newlook (they really do have the most comfy shoes). These are great for work with a nice summer dress or when (if) I go out to see people and socialise. My most worn outfit is a white shirt, blue jeans and a pair of loafers.

A few birthday additions to my skincare collection | Haul

Birthday, Clinique, collection, ginzing, haul, Laura Edwards, moisture surge, Origins, skincare, sukin,
I have only recently added some new skincare products to my collection and I took you through these products in my New Skincare Items I've Added To My Collection blog post but I had my birthday at the start of April and as it wasn't a conventual birthday, my family decided to buy me some skincare items and get them delivered to my house which was a lovely surprise.

As I mentioned in my earlier blog post taking you through my current skincare routine, I have been focusing on keeping up with my skincare routine while I have more time at home (trying to look on the bright side) so these new products will get a lot of use this year.

Firstly, before I knew I was getting skincare for my birthday I also made a little order of my own from Origins with some money I was given for my birthday. I knew I needed a new moisturiser as my current Lacura Facial Cream only have a couple more uses left. After looking online at the Kiehl's website and lusting over the original Facial Cream, I decided to go with a trusty favourite of mine which is the Origins GinZing Energy-Boosting Gel Moisturiser. I have used this product for years and mentioned it countless times on the blog so I knew it would be a great addition back into my collection.

Along with the moisturiser I also decided to buy myself the Mask Medley Collection for a great price of £30. I normally buy my Origins face masks at Bicester Village to save on the pennies and this pack have 3 masks I have never used before and the Maskimizer which I have used already and, even though I can't say whether it does have any benefit to my skin, I do like to add it in to my pamper routine. I may be a gimmick but I didn't pay full price for it so who cares!

Including in the medley is the Maskimizer which I have mentioned, Drink Up 10 minute hydrating mask, Mega Mushroom Relief and Resilience Soothing mask and the Clear Improvements Charcoal mask.  I shall write a post after I have used these mask over a considerable period and let you know how I get along with them.

Next up is my present bundle from my sister from Clinique which is another of my favourite skincare brands. I have tried to find the bundle she purchased so I will link each individual product for you. Including in the bundle was the Clarifying Lotion 2, Take The Day Off Balm, Moisture Surge Moisturiser, All About Eyes Eye Cream and Dramatically Different Lotion

All these products, except for the clarifying lotion, I have used and love many times before and in trying to use up most of my skincare products, I have ended up with not a lot of Clinique products left. As you can see from my very messy skincare draw above, I have a lot of different brands that I am currently using skincare wise but the majority of my collection is made up of Origins, Sukin and now Clinique.

If you would like a skincare collection tour then let me know and I can group the similar products together and post them as individual product collections. Last year I went through a stage of using up a lot of my skincare products and trying not to buy anymore until I was left with a small collection, but since discovering Laura Edwards on YouTube I now am really excited to discover new products and try new formulas. If I am stuck at home for any longer, I might just spend my days in face masks and dressing gowns.

New Skincare Items I've Added To My Collection

skincare, collection, sukin, pixi, lacura, origins, superdrug, boots, bodyshop, facial cream, cleanser, clay mask, moisturiser, winter,

I haven't posted a skincare post since the beginning of December so I think it is about time I updated you on some of the new / repurchased items I have added recently. I ended up getting a few bits over Christmas from my family and decided to repurchase a few bits over January which I was in need of. I have reduced my skincare collection a lot over the years so I now don't feel the need to purchase items unless I really need them.

First up is a trio set from Sukin which I asked my Mum for Christmas as I was in need of some simple products which would work on my skin without adding any nasties to my skincare routine. I have loved all three of these products before and over Christmas they came as a set of three, which sadly isn't sold anymore, and luckily the three products in the set are my three favourite. Included in the set are three products from their signature range Sukin Facial Moisturiser £7.95, Sukin Foaming Facial Cleanser £7.95 and Sukin Hydrating Mist Toner £7.95. I have mentioned this brand a few times on my blog and when there is a 3for2 deal on at Boots you can get the three bottle set for under £16.

Next up I have a two cleansing products which have both been repurchased in the last two months and are firm favourites in my collection. Firstly is the Pixi Glow Tonic £18 which I will admit, took me a long while to catch on. I may be late to the party but I am a big fan now. I find my skin looks to glowy and clear and after I have used them in the morning and my makeup applies easier afterwards. Then in the evenings I like to use the Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glycolic Pads currently priced at £2.98 on offer! which I like to use as a second cleanse to remove my makeup. When I feel like I have a build up underneath my skin, I like to work these pads over the area and do feel like they reduce spots and bumps.

A new mask that I have been trying lately is the Bodyshop Tea Tree Clearing Face Mask £11 which my sister bought me for Christmas. I tend to stick to the same face masks out of ease and comfort but it has been nice trying this mask out. I find it really soothing and relaxing so it perfect for a relaxing evening in the bath. I used to use quite a few tea tree products when I was younger so the smell is very nostalgic.

My last two new products are some moisturisers which are both up their in my top 10. First is the Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream £23 which the name suggests is refreshing and awakening first thing in the morning.  I use this nearly every morning and evening and since I am closer to the 30 year mark, this is something I am focusing more on.

My last new product is a surprise find while I was food shopping in Aldi. The Lacura Facial Cream is exactly how I would expect the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream to feel like on the skin but it is a fraction of the price. Sadly this product is no longer available which makes me so sad as it was less than £5 and is up their with my Clinique and Origins moisturiser favourites. If you do find this product in your local Aldi I would 100% recommend you try this product out.

5 Questions I Ask myself When De-cluttering Makeup

5 Questions I Ask myself When De-cluttering Makeup

This week I had a huge de-clutter of my makeup and removed a huge bag of products from my collection. When I first got into beauty blogging and youtube I thought the aim of the game was to have the biggest makeup collection. I used to watch youtubers collections and be so envious of the size of theirs and the different products they had to hand. That made me end up buying makeup every time I went out and picking up bargain products I found in random shops so that I had products to bulk up my collection.

I know now that that is stupid since I hardly used the majority of the products because I had my favourites, thankfully people started focusing on steamline makeup collections and the 'makeup declutter videos' were born. As silly as it sounds, now that big youtubers are reducing the size of their makeup collections I now don't feel deflated with my small collection and enjoy reducing my own to the essentials.

So here are 5 questions that I ask myself when I am de-cluttering my makeup!

1. Is it used up?
Sounds simple but I find so many products which are basically empty but are still in my collection. Whether its a reminder to repurchase the product or you just forgot to throw it away get rid of it. Luckily with my blog I can talk about the products that I love so in the future I can look back and know the formula and shade I want to repurchase.

2. Have I used it in the last 3 months?
Like I said when I was trying to expand my makeup collection I had quite a few products in my collection that never got used so I had wasted my money and time in purchasing them. Now I like to go through my collection and see if I have actually used the products. If I haven't used the products in the last 3 months then I will either give them away or put them in my everyday makeup bag to use them and see if I like them. The worst thing is throwing away a product to later find out you would have loved it if you had tried it. If when I next sort through my makeup I still haven't used that product it then goes in the give away pile.

3. What is the expiry date?
I am someone who will hold onto a product because I love it even if it is a little bit old... I know it is disgusting but you ignore the fact that the product is gloppy and just spend an extra 10 minutes blending it in... I have stopped doing that you will be pleased to know and I follow a strict process now where every 6 months I go through the items which I know would have expired during that time. I do use the little icon on the back of products to identify if I need to get rid of them but lets be honest, who remember exactly when they bought that lipstick? I also use this cheat sheet to remind myself of the time frames for makeup.

4. Do I like it?
Sounds very strange when you have spent money on this product to ask if you like it but so many times you are keeping products you don't actually like because of sentimental value or because you spent a lot of money on it. I am quite careful with high end products because I will always research them before giving over any money, the idea of spending so much money on a product I won't like scares me. So I always ask myself if I like this product when I am going through my makeup because a lot of the time the products that always make it through your sort outs are sentimental but not your shade or formula at all. You might be thinking I couldn't do that my nans best friends son's girlfriend got me that eye shadow palette but when you have minimal room for your storage and the palette hasn't been used once, isn't it better to give it to someone who will use it?

5. Do I have anything similar
Lastly the question we are all guilty of, have the same product in 5 different variations. I am not that adventurous with my makeup because I like the natural look most days so this can mean I end up with 5 eye palettes all with the same shades in which is obviously silly and wasteful. I don't need two matte nude palettes or two shimmer pink palettes sadly so I like to pick my favourite one and pass on the other to a friend. It is the same with lipsticks so many shades right now are basically the same with different packaging so who needs two browny nudes with look exactly the same.

I hate the idea of waste so any products that aren't out of date or a bit grim go to my sister or friends who love rummaging through and finding treats. I find that I might not like a product but my sister who is different in her style of makeup and shades might love the product so at least it goes to a loving home.

I hope this post helps you de-clutter and spring clean your makeup collection.

Three Things I'm Aiming For In 2019

Three Things I'm Aiming For In 2019
I haven't given myself any resolutions or aims to achieve since 2015 and i think now that i am in a happy place both job and home life wise, i would really make this year worth it. I have so many plans already in the work, i am planning to fully enjoy my free weekends and bank holidays with my friends and family, especially in the the summer!

I thought i would give myself three aims to get my butt in gear.

1. Become at peace with the gym
I joined the gym back in November with the instinct to really hit it hard during the last two months of the year to get me prepared to become fit and healthy in 2019. Its safe to say that didn't work out well but my mission is to make this happen this year. I know a lot of people say they want to become fit every new years but i am not too fussed about being a gym bunny or having a perfect body. I am more interested in becoming more healthy and maybe losing the extra timber around my stomach crossing fingers. Wish me luck! I am already searching the internet for healthy dinner ideas which will hopefully encourage me to keep on track.

2. Use up my makeup / skincare collection
I have said before on twitter and Instagram that i really want to shop my stash this year and use up my never ending collection. I am putting myself on a spending ban until my collection has been reduced significantly, that way i use up all my products instead of letting them go bad in my draws. I only have one face so i don't need a ridiculous amount of products. This will also mean i get to try lots of products which i have forgot about in my collection.

3. Save save save for the wedding!!
It has been a year and a half since Cal and I got engaged and we think it is about time we finally start making plans. This year we are planning to hard core save so hopefully we can plan a day both of us enjoy. We are in no rush to actually walk down the aisle, maybe in the next 5 years before i turn 30. Ideally i would like to have one child before we get married so that we can have the the child as a flower girl/ page boy. I already know Callum and I will last the whole 60 without killing each other so i don't feel like i need the big white wedding before we have kids.  So we start saving now and we don't get married for another 5 years then hopefully our savings will be amazing!!

The hardest out of the three aims is definitely the gym but i have some proper gym clothes, some new trainers and a whole load of cute summer dresses i want to feel comfortable in.

What are you planning to do with your year?

Festive Party Eyes #2

Festive Eyes #2

Festive Eyes #2

I am all about the glitter eye shadows during the party season and i have a few favourite products which get a lot of attention this time of year.

First off is my baby palette which i whip out every year, the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette which has some of the best shimmer gold shades. It has everything you would need for a smokey eye or a simple shimmer lid and the shades are so pigmented, especially for shimmers. You can make some easy quick looks with this palette and it is good to travel with for a weekend away for a special occasion.

Another palette from Urban Decay is the Naked Heat palette which is a mix of shimmer and matte red, orange and burgundy shades which i have fallen in love with. I really like the look of a burgundy eye and lip, which really suits my features and makes it look like i have out a lot of effort into my makeup.

The last palette in the post is the Revolution Iconic Pro palette which is super old now and basically a dupe for the Naked 2 palette but i use it just as much as the Naked version. I like to mix between the two palettes and create different looks. The packaging has changed for this palette but the shades are the same so it is worth a look if you are on a budget.

When i switch it up to a cream shadow i like to use the Collection Glam Crystals in shades divine and Envy. I like to use these cream shadows on their own or as a base underneath a powder shadow. You can either apply a thin layer for a subtle shimmer or a few layers to really build up the colour. During the day when i don't have much plans but i want to look a bit festive, i like to use these cream shadows to add a pop of colour which is subtle.

Another cream shadow i love are the Max Factor Excess Shimmer pots (similar) which are super easy to apply and look so pigmented on the lids. You can either use your fingers or a makeup brush to apply these pots but i do tend to just use my fingers as it blends out much quicker and easier.

Lastly i have the PS Bronze Metallic Eye Cream which is a rich gold shade which is really pretty. I don't use this as often as i use the Max Factor Shadow but that is mainly because the Max Factor product is my favourite cream shadow and is the easiest to apply.

My eye makeup doesn't change up very often as i don't tend to buy a lot of eye makeup, so i like to try and make lots of different eye looks with the palettes I've got. I'm a little more adventurous then i used to be so hopefully one day i will move away from earthy nude shades.

What is your go to festive eye look?

Winter Everyday Makeup Routine

Winter Everyday Makeup Routine

I haven't posted my makeup routine since in September last year so this post is well over due, especially since all the products have flipped over. I have always been a light to medium coverage with a dewy healthy finish but i am officially a full coverage foundation lover.

I got the Clinique Beyond Perfecting foundation back in April for my birthday and on fire impressions, i didn't like it at all. I felt like it dried out my skin and left my skin feeling really clogged and slightly pale. Turns out I was using way too much product which was why it clogged my skin up so much. With a light hand it gives a really lovely smooth flawless healthy finish which lasts all day. I have been wearing this foundation non stop this month.

Then I've been using my trusty Bourjois Radiance Concealer underneath my eyes and my Collection Lasting Perfection on my chin and any blemishes. I'm trying to lay off powder at the moment as i feel like that may be a contributing factor to the uncomfortable dry skin i am currently experiencing so I've been moving straight on to bronzer and highlight and these two are products I've already spoken about this year. The Kiko  Fall 2.0 bronzer is amazing at a subtle colour which paired with the foundation makes my skin look really healthy. I am still obsessed with the PS Glow Palette Highlighters so i basically don't use anything else for highlight. I use every shade in the palette and the pigment is incredible!

Onto eyes on a every day basis i have been using mainly cream eye shadows as they are super easy to wear and last all day on your lids. I'm currently using my PS Bronze Metallic eye shadow to give my eye lids a pop of metallic gold colour and make my makeup feel more festive. It is a really beautiful colour, i just wish it was easier to get the product out!! As for eye brows i am still using my holy grail product which is the NYX Tame and Shape Brow Pomade. It is really easy to use and this pot has lasted my so long without drying up which is a miracle.

Lastly for lips i have been playing it safe with my Glossier balm dot com in Cherry on a daily basis and only wearing lipsticks when i am going out anywhere nice. You can't go wrong with a good lip balm!

What is your current makeup routine?

Autumn Jacket Collection | Newlook and Zara

Autumn Jacket Collection | Newlook and Zara

Autumn winter fashion is my absolute fav and I have gone a little crazy on the jacket buying in the last few months. I have a different style of jacket for any occasion now and I don't think I will stop here either. All of these jacket are new apart from one very old swede jacket which I bring out every winter.

The first jacket is this dark grey fur gillet which I fell in love with when I saw it. I love gilets during the colder months to layer on top of thick jumpers and roll necks and I always feel dressed up wearing this style. I have this in two colours as well because I love this so much, I have a snow white version which makes me look like the abominable snowman. I love wearing earthy toned skirts with this gilet as the colours always compliment each other and also it looks like I have put a lot of effect into my outfit when really I've just thrown on some fur. Without this gilet I find some outfits look a little too plain so I like to add this to make the outfit complete.

Running with the fur theme I have this denim jacket with a fur colour which looks really good on top of dresses or with black denim. I purchased one of these last year or the year before from Primark as everywhere else had sold out of this style denim jacket so Primark was my last resort. The jacket I bought wasn't exactly what I wanted so I have wore it a total of 5 times since I bought it... I need to learn to be patient! Anyway this jacket is exactly what I wanted and I love that the body is quite short so it really sorts high waist denim which I mainly live in. It also looks super cute with high waist patterned skirts which you know I love. I love the look of a roll neck poking through a fur collar as well so I like to wear them underneath the jacket. Although the jacket has the fur collar it isn't the warmest of jackets so it is a great jacket to wear at this stage of autumn when the weather isn't too cold.

Next have a different style of jacket which I am obsessed with. When I saw this out shopping I loved it straight away and thought it would look great on top of all my autumn dresses which suit a long coat more then short ones. It is quite big and over sized so I can wear this on top of any style dress because you won't see it underneath the coat and it does have quite broad shoulders so I think I will always wear my hair down this jacket. Does anyone else feel better with their hair down with some outfits or just me? Anything with puffy sleeves appeals to me so I had to buy it and it is like that is has a leather look finish so if it gets wet I can just brush the water off and the coat wont get ruined. I also like that it does't have a sip or clasp as sometimes that weighs down the jacket and it doesn't have nicely but I like how this jacket hangs as if it is closed

Autumn Jacket Collection | Newlook and Zara

A throw back coat for you all is this super cosy fake sheep coat from the 915 section of Newlook from like 4 years ago. I love this coat because it fits like a dream and keeps me so warm in the winter, it is my favorite to wear when we are in the middle of winter. I usually wear this with a black or brown roll neck top or jumper with a skirt and it really makes the outfit. I will try and find one similar to this as I know this exact coat wont be on the website anymore. Whenever it snows I bring out this jacket because I know it will keep me warm and I won't be waking up with a cold! Over time the sleeves have appeared smaller and smaller on my arms so I have to style out the hidden hand look because my top/jumper sleeves are so long.

I'm finishing with my all time favourite yellow leather jacket from Zara which I purchased last year. I found this jacket in one of the many Barcelona Zara stores and fell in love straight away. I got it in a Small and it fits me perfectly and goes with nearly every outfit I try it with. I love that it is a mustard yellow shade because it really suits browns, burgundys and blacks which is what I wear a lot during this season.

Whats In My Makeup Bag

I haven't wrote a beauty post on this blog for what feels like ages (when actually I wrote one last month) so I think my blog is well over due some beauty chat! My makeup bag has changed a lot recently so I thought I'd take you through what is currently living in it.

Firstly for base I have been using the L'oreal Infallible 24hr matte foundation in vanilla which I repurchased last month. I used to be obsessed with this foundation last year as it is really easy to apply and it is fool proof foundation. After repurchasing it I can remember why I loved it so much but I do which I bought it in a darker shade as it doesn't suit my tanned neck and shoulders so much... My tan is starting to fade now though so I can get away with it with some bronzer all over my face.

For concealers I currently have 3 in my makeup bag to go between as I am trying out two new products. The Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer is of course in my bag for obvious reasons, my spots aren't going to cover themselves! I also have the Rimmel Match Perfection and the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealers in the shade Ivory to try out. So far I have found the wake me up concealer does crease under neath my eyes but I like it once it set down with powder, the match perfection concealer hasn't wowed me yet but I know a lot of people love this concealer so I will keep trying it till I like it.
I've been using the NYX Eye Shadow in the colour taupe to contour my cheeks which is the perfect shade to contour with and this is all I use most days. I find it doesn't look muddy like some contour products which is one of the reasons I keep it in my makeup bag to touch up any makeup look.

I keep the Max Factor Excess Shimmer Cream Eye Shadow in Bronze in my makeup bag because most days I can't be bothered to do anything fancy with powder eye shadows so I have been living in this eye shadow most days. I like to most days put a thin layer of colour on my lids to keep it casual and then if I am running out straight for the evening then I layer more product on to make the colour more prominent.

Lastly for my eyebrows I have gone back to using the Soap and Glory Brow Archery pencil in Brown and the Rimmel Super Curler Mascara on my lashes which I am really liking right now. It has a bent wand which makes it easier to grab all the lashes and I have a few super short bent eye lashes which this mascara can get so it is a winner.

Lastly on my lips I have been non stop wearing the Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in the shade Sand which is the perfect sheer nude shade to throw on with any makeup look.

Tell me whats currently in your makeup bag!

Drugstore Liquid Lipsticks Collection

Drugstore Liquid Lipsticks Collection

I have collected quite a few liquid lipsticks in the last few months since they become the new thing and after trying one and two from NYX I just wanted to have them all. I have the products from three different brands and as you can tell I definitely have my favourites.

The first brand I tried was Collection and their Velvet Kiss Lip Creams are only £2.99 which is a right bargain- which is why I bought four... I have the shades Caramel 2 which is a brown nude, Cotton Candy 1 which is a pink nude and then I bought two of the darker shades in Mulberry 5 and Blackberry 6 which are nice autumnal shades. The colours are really lovely but I find that the darker shades do come out quite patchy, they also dry my lips out to hell which makes them quite uncomfortable to wear on the lips. I thought it might just be my lips which were making them uncomfortable since I have the driest lips on earth but even my sister found they dried out her lips so I can't tell you how long this products last as I have taken it off every time I have applied it because it was uncomfortable. Sadly I don't think I will get much wear out of this creams.

I also purchased three Bodyshop Matte Lip Liquid in the shades Windsor Rose 032 which is a brown nude, Crete Carnation 030 which is is pink nude and Tahiti Hibiscus 016 which is a vibrant pink-red shade. I find that all the brands do very similar colours which means I end up with a lot of the same colours in my collection but I don't mind having 10 different nudes. The Bodyshop Lip Liquids are £6 each which isn't a too bad price considering you get more product then in the other packaging. Unlike the Collection Liquid Lipsticks I find the Bodyshop products tend to be a little bit  patchy in the lighter shades rather than the darker shades especially the brown nude so I do use two layers when I wear that shade just to make sure I have a even colour. Tahiti Hibiscus is the perfect pink-red shade for the a night out when you want your lips to last all night and the consistency of it is amazing, I do find that it lasts longer on my lips then my two nudes shades as well. I find this shade is least drying out of the three as well so where as the nude shows up any lines or dry patches on your lips, Hibiscus glosses over like a lip gloss and dries comfortably and leaves your lips with a subtle sheen. Can you tell how much I love this shade?! There is one down side to this shade, the product takes a while to dry on the lips so you have to be careful not to touch anything before they dry, otherwise you get the colour everywhere. It also comes off when you eat in the middle of your lips which isn't ideal.

My favourite brand for liquid lipsticks so far is definitely everyone's favourite NYX, I jumped on the bang wagon and have been in love with the brand every since. I have three shades in their Soft Matte Lip Creams and I am planning on increasing that number in the next few months but it is hard to know which shades to get, I do feel like I buy the same shades all the time (you can tell just by looking at all these liquid lipsticks!). I currently have in my collection Abu Dhabi which is brown nude, Cannes which is a pink/dark brown nude and San Paulo which is a bright pink/red similar to Tahiti Hibiscus but a little lighter. I find myself reaching for these lipsticks the most because the pigmentation of all the shades is amazing and the product is so buttery it applies so easily. Whether my lips are having a dry day or they are feeling pretty normal these lipsticks sit tight all day and only need reapplying when I have eaten. The thing I love most about this lipsticks is that they are so creamy they apply really well so I don't end up with any patches and it doesn't look like I am wearing anything on my lips. Where as with the Bodyshop lipsticks they can accentuate the lines on your lips and make it obvious you have product on them, the NYX lipsticks don't do this.

YouTube and Blogging Made Me Buy It

YouTube and Blogging Made Me Buy It
YouTube and Blogging Made Me Buy It
YouTube and Blogging Made Me Buy It
Watching YouTube and reading blogs means my bank balance regularly gets a bashing after a new product is raved about and like most people I get taken in by the hype of products. My collection is full of products that I have seen someone I look up to talk about and thankfully most of the items are good with only 3 products I wouldn't recommend.

T H E G O O D

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
This is a cult classic for most people and I tried this product right at the beginning when I was starting out and haven't looked back since. It really is as good as everyone says and I recommend this to everyone.

Baby Lips
You guys know how bad I suffer from dry lips and since trying these lip balms many moons ago I haven't bought another product since. They last me ages even though I use them multiply times a day and are great to wear underneath lip products.

Real Techniques Brushes
Being a blogger I always want to support other bloggers who bring out products and the Real Technics brushes are items I would happily buy multiple times to show my support. They are some of my favourite brushes to use and even though I do have some cheap versions in my collection, I do always go back to the originals when I want my face to look the best.

NYX Lips
These exploded last year in the blogging community and when the counter finally came to the town next to mine I picked up a few bits to try and fell in love with the products. I have three lip creams which I regularly keep in my makeup bag for everyday use and there are so many more NYX lip products I can't wait to try.

Nivea Post Shaving Balm
Nikki Tutorials made this such a popular product that I thought this was going to completely change my life. I do love using this as a primer as my skin looks amazing and last for so long, it is perfect for weddings or nights out when you want your skin to stay fresh all day/night. I don't wear it very much though as I do think it causes spots on my skin so I save it for special occasions.

L'Oreal True Match Foundation
Nearly ever beauty blogger or YouTuber has this foundation in their collection it seems and I totally understand why. it is amazing at making my skin glow and look like I have the perfect skin. I go through stages of wearing it everyday and then not wearing it for weeks because I don't want to run out. The price of this product is great and definitely worth a try if you don't have it in your collection.

Top Shop Glow Pot
At one time nearly everyone was using this highlighter in blog posts and videos and now its kind of become forgotten about. This is a great highlighter at such a good price, a lot of people have compared this highlighter to many high end products which show how good it is. The only down side to this product is that it does rub off my foundation when I apply it. Knowing me though, I am probably applying it wrong.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer
I don't know anyone who doesn't like this bronzer and that shows how popular this bronzer actually is. I bought it a very long time ago and I still love it as much as when I first got. I think the best thing about it is that you can use it as a bronzer as well as a contour because the tone of the product is perfect for both.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo
To this day I still use my Colour Tattoos on a regular basis as they are so easy to use. I have 3 shades in this and I think its time to pick up a few more shades soon. They blend really easily and last a long time on the lids so they are definitely worth the hype for me. I love to use them on lazy makeup days.

Mac Studio Fix
So many people love this foundation so of course I had to try it but I have been disappointed. I hardly use this foundation but I can't bare to throw it away or pass it on because I want to like it. I like natural looking skin and this foundation can look natural if your don't use a lot of product but most of the time when I wear it, it just ends up looking cakey. I find with this foundation I don't like the look of it until its been on for a few hours which isn't good because then I have to take it off. I think for the price, the foundation just isn't worth it.

Benefit Erase Paste
This concealer was really hyped about when it first came out and that made me try it out not long after it surfaced. I got the shade fair which I thought would be great for me but it was really orange toned, when I had a tan it wasn't too bad on my skin but the coverage and the tone just didn't work for me. Also the pot was really annoying to use.

Bodyshop Shade Adjusting Drops
Everyone went crazy for these drops when they first came out and I really wanted to try out the dark drops because I thought they would be more useful. I don't know whether I used it wrong but every time I used these drops my foundation just looks muddy which is not the look I was going for. I started using the drops to cream contour my face which worked better than darkening my foundation but since I don't cream contour very often, the product just didn't get used.

My Current Everyday Makeup Routine

My Current Everyday Makeup Routine

My everyday makeup routine has changed up recently since I introduced some new products and some old products which I had forgotten about back into my routine.

B A S E
I recently got this little sample of Mac's Prep and Prime to try and I can't actually believe I have never tried it before. It feels more like a moisturiser than a primer which is why I really like using this product. It leaves my skin so soft and smooth so my foundations applies so nicely afterwards. I have finally started trying out the L'Oreal Infallible Stay Fresh Foundation properly and I like it so far. Compared to the matte formula of the foundation I find it feels more clogging on the skin and oxidizes when I first apply it but I can get away with it as I have quite a tanned neck thank god. I have been applying this foundation with my beauty blender which I wet first with the Newlook Fix Makeup Setting Spray which I think makes so much difference. I find the foundation gives me a nice glow but doesn't have the best coverage so I do have to go in with my concealers after. Maybelline Fit Me concealer in 10 works perfectly under my eyes to brighten my bags and the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer in 2 cool medium covers all my annoying blemishes with a thin layer. Lastly for powder I brought back out the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder which is an old classic.

To give me so killer cheekbones (or try anyway) I have been using my W7 Honolulu which I got in a Christmas calendar. This contour is the perfect colour and suits my skin tone so well, I would describe it as a dark ashy toned brown. It works as a contour and bronzer product so depending on what look you are going for you cover both bases. I have been double bronzing lately though so I have been packing on the Benefit Hoola bronzer on top of my contour and with a soft hand it can look really natural.

Since glitter was used way too much over Christmas I have ditched the eye shadow lately and opted for just some mascara to keep my eyes simple. I dug out my little mini Clinique High Impact Mascara from my collection and I have really been loving it. For brows I have been kicking it old school with my Soap and Glory Brow Archery in Brownie Points. To set my brows I am working my way through a pot of Sleek Clear Brow Gel which I totally forgot about for most of last year.

Lush Products I Got For Christmas

Lush Products I Got For Christmas

My family and friends know me very well and I got a ton of Lush Bath Products for the bath this year so I thought a post was definitely in order. You really can't go wrong with a Lush Bath Bomb or Shower Cream when you are feeling run down.

Floating Island is the only bath oil I got for Christmas and I am interested to try this out. I am pretty sure I have used a bath oil from them before but I don't remember anything special about it so when my skin is needing a pick me up, this bad boy will have its time to shine.

Two Bubble Bars which I am so excited to have in my collection again are the Comforter and Brightside. I owned both of these before and I absolutely loved them for so many reasons. I crumbled a little bit into my bath and the amount of bubbles they produce are amazing. The bars lasted me so long before I was so sad to see them finish. Brightside made my bath a bright pink mess of bubbles and Comforter made my bath look a little bit like bright pee but it was still lovely.

Bath Bombs have to be my favourite products from Lush and I got a 8 bath bombs in total for Christmas which made me a happy bunny indeed. I got two Golden Wonder bath bombs which is very exciting because look at them! What could be better than a gold castle and it smells really citrus-y (yes I have just made up that word). I also got The Experimenter bath bomb with I have used before and loved. It makes your bath a rainbow colour which looks a-m-a-zing! Fizz Banger is a amazing smelling yellow colour which smells like a really sweet apple pie which is one of my favourite deserts. Intergalactic is like Experimenter because it feels your bath with lots of colour but mainly a sparkley blue which I absolutely love, it reminds me of the Frozen bath bomb which is one of my all time favourites. Butter Bear is a super cute white bear which smells like a savory butter cake which smells amazing and really makes me what some cake. Lastly for bath bombs I got Ickle Baby Bot which I have already used, it is a super cute little blue robot which made my bath turn baby blue in colour, I found it didn't do anything apart from change the colour though so glad I used that one first and saved some of my favourites for later.

Lastly I got the Snow Fairy shower gel which smells like heaven to me. Its smells like them candy necklaces that you used to eat when your were a kid but x1000 in impact. I find Lush's shower gels are so amazing for their smell and how amazing they leave my skin. They lather up so well and leave my skin so soft and smelling like a candy shop.

Right now I wish you could add smell to posts so you can all smell how amazing my room smells now from have all the products out of their packaging. I shall link all the products which are still availible on the website, let me know what is your favourite bath bombs and bars.

Whats In My Party Clutch | NYE Edition

Whats In My Party Clutch | NYE Edition

Girls have a lot of essentials they need in their handbag and by gosh I carry everything but the kitchen in sink my mine. During a night out though I do tend to downsize to a smaller bag and a smaller pick of essentials. Here are my New Years Eve night out essentials that I always have on me when I do venture out for the night.

I always like to take a perfume out with me in case I get a bit crazy on the dance floor and start to smell funky... My go to perfume at the minute is Dolce and Gabbana and my bottle is nearly empty because I have used it none stop recently. Carrying on with smelling nice I always have a pack or pot of chewing gums in my clutch bag because you never know when you might get bad breath. I hate drinking a cider and then smelling it on my breath and since I am a boy when I drink, I 99.9% of the time will be drinking cider so chewing gums are always needed.

I take my Babylips lip balm with me everywhere during the day and night so of course it is in my clutch bag on a night out and also for my lips I carry two lip options for the night. 9 out of 10 times I wear a red lip for a night out in December so of course I carry one with me and I've included the Clinique Colour Pop Lipstick in Cherry Pop to top up my red lips but I also take a nude shade out with me. This is because during nights out I can get bored with my lips or after having food and drink my lipstick is non-existent and I don't want to reapply the red shade, so I always bring a moisturising nude shade to give my lips a rest and I picked the Clinique Colour Pop Lipstick in Bare Pop for this. This lipstick is so moisturising and long wearing on the lips that it is a easy choice to throw in the bag.

To stop me sweating my life away I always bring some sort of powder in my bag for top ups and my current favourite is the Dior Skin Nude Tan in light which I have had for a very long time. I used to think this powder was more of a bronzer but after some time I realised that it wasn't giving me bronzed goddess cheekbones so it must only be a powder. This gives my skin a lovely glow and feels lovely on the skin. It doesn't leave your skin looking like it has powder on which is one of the reasons I really love this powder for nights out. To top up my bronzer I always carry my Hoola bronzer in my bag as this is a fail safe option. It doesn't matter what bronzer you have previously used on your face, this product always look good on your skin and suits everyone so if someone in the group needs a top up I have them covered.

Concealers are a must have product during a night out to cover up the dark circles that appear after a certain time! My two favourite products to use are Maybelline Fit Me in shade 10 and Collection Lasting Perfection in Cool Medium. The collection concealer touches up any blemishes that start to reappear and the Maybelline concealer covers my good old grey bags.

Lastly of course I carry around my money, phone and ID in my bag and I am set to go.
Hope you all have an amazing and safe New Years Eve.

Three Drugstore Concealers You Need

makeup, beauty, concealer, collection, miss sporty, bourjois, drugstore, collection 2000,

Concealers can sometimes be more important then foundation depending on the state of your skin and I have three concealers that I go in between constantly. I've always been told you shouldn't use the same concealer to cover all the problems on you face and mine come sometimes be in double figures! It is good to have a range of different formulas and shades to work with and here are my top three concealers for my skin!

The Cover Up - Collection Lasting Perfection
This concealer is the best concealer in the drugstore for covering spots and blemishes. I know every blogger and YouTuber shouts about this product and at one point it was in every video and every blog post, but that is because it is just so good. Whenever I have an angry spots or some really rosey cheeks, this stuff covers it up completely and makes me look human again. It doesn't cake on my skin no matter how much I top it up and I don't need powder to set it, plus it always blends in perfectly with your foundation. Like any make up product though, the more you touch your face the shorter time the product lasts and I have a habit of always touching my face, especially if I have a blemish I want to make sure hasn't grown in size. Long story short - don't touch you face and the concealer will last all day!
I have shade Light and Medium

The Under Eye - Miss Sporty Perfect Stay Concealer
This concealer is rarely spoken about in the beauty world but it definitely deserves more credit in my eyes. I use this product under my eyes everyday to brighten my eye area and cover my permanent bags. I tend to suffer from dark bags under my eyes 6/7 days of the week and I find some concealers just exaggerate the problem and especially the few lines I have there as well. This concealer brighten my eyes and doesn't make my lines look worse. Brilliant!
I have shade Light and Medium

The Radiant Look - Bourjois Radiance Reveal
When I need a little bit more help to look awake or if I am going for a really healthy glowy look then this concealer really comes in handy. It is super brightening on the eyes and on the days when I have had little or no sleep, this product makes me look human again. It is also the perfect concealer to use for highlighting your features when you contour as well as it is so bright. You do need a light hand with this product as I find applying too much can make you look like a ghost and if there is anything worse than dark bags under your eyes, its white bags!
I have the shade Light

I'd love to know some of your favourite drugstore concealers!

Summer Time Calls For Highlight!

round up, highlighters, makeup, collection, beauty, revolution, newlook, pure colour, collection, summer, glow, shimmer,

I have a big obsession with highlighters like most beauty bloggers these days and I love talking about them. I have a few posts about highlighters already under my belt including Highlighting on a budget and Shopping my stash | Highlighters  but now it is time to talk about my all time favourite highlighters in my collection.

I'll start with my only pallet in the post, the Collection Contour Kit - Highlight and Sculpt. This is one pallet where I can safely say I make use of both the shades in this kit. The highlighter is so beautiful and super pigmented for the price of £4.19. Unlike some palettes you actually get a generous size of product so it should last my for a long time unless I start going crazy with the highlight.

I have two Revolution highlighter products which I love to pieces and always go back to. I have had the Vivid Baked Highlighter in Peach Lights for nearly a year now and I haven't even hit pan yet which is amazing. I do love powder highlight as I think it tends to last longer and this powder is so pigmented and blends so lovely on the skin and on top of other makeup. I also have it in Pink lights which is beautiful to wear as well and is as pigmented as the peach version.

round up, highlighters, makeup, collection, beauty, revolution, newlook, pure colour, collection, summer, glow, shimmer, I also have The One Highlighter Stick by Revolution which is so so pretty. Although I tend to use powder highlighters more often then stick versions, I do have two favourites in my stash and this is one of them. I find this gorgeous stick is super creamy and doesn't budge my foundation which I find in some sticks, it gives a gorgeous effect to the skin and it reminds me of Nars Copacabana highlighter.

Lastly I have two Newlook Pure Colour highlighters which I love love love. The first is the Baked Highlighter Powder in 93 Gold which I use as a bronzer/highlighter as it is the prefect shade to give a bit of colour to your cheeks as well as some sparkle. The pigmentation of the highlighter is insane and I use this product all the time and still haven't hit pan (I don't actually think I have hit pan on any of my highlighters which makes me happy).

My final product is the Pure Colour highlighter Stick in 93 Gold. Like the Revolution stick, the Newlook stick doesn't budge any of my foundation when I apply it and it is so smooth and creamy when you apply it and again, leaves a beautiful shimmer to the skin. Since this stick is a little bit smaller then the Revolution stick it is perfect to add highlighter to your nose and brow arch, which might be too small for the bigger sticks to fit in.

What are some of your favourite Highlighters?
