5 Minute Makeup

5, minute, makeup, Kiko, mewlook,Bourjois, body shop, misssporty, Maybelline, soapandglory, makeup, beauty,

Who has the time in the mornings to sit in front of the mirror for hours and do your makeup nowadays? I definitely don't unless I have a day off so my makeup needs to be quick and easy. Here are a few products which I like to use on those early mornings when I have a lot to do but not enough time to do it all.

You can't go wrong with Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in my eyes for a quick and easy application. The product makes you look really healthy (which the names suggests) and awake in the morning when your more than likely still too tired to get out of your pjs bottoms. I use a Real Technics sponge to apply this product and takes about one minute to blend it all into my face, I never have to worry about it caking or being streaky. My Miss Sporty concealer in light is my favourite concealer to use underneath my eyes and always helps me look more awake and alive during the mornings. It blends in really easily so it doesn't take very long to apply it.

My go to bronzer for when I don't have time to contour is the Bodyshop Honey Bronzer in light which works a treat at making my look like I have some sort of colour in my face. A couple of sweeps on the cheeks and I am good to go!

For eyebrows my easiest product to use is my Soap and Glory Brow Archery pencil in brunette, I love the felt tip on one end for filling in my brows as it is really quick and easy. I don't have to worry about making a mistake as I can just wipe the excess away and the product lasts all day on my eyebrows.

A easy way to look like you've spent time on your makeup when you really haven't is to use cream eye shadows, my new best friends and my holy grail. They are basically the lazy girls guide to eye shadow. Two of my favourite ones to use are the Maybeline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze and The Kiko Long Lasting Stick Eye shadow in 04. They are both beautiful golden browns which suit any look and lasts all day on your lids. I usually skip mascara if I am in a rush so I tend to just use my eye lash curlers instead to give the illusion that I have done something to them.

Lastly the lipstick I always reach for and which is always in my hand bag for referent use is the Newlook lipstick in Camel. The perfect nude that suits any eye look I have gone for and which isn't fiddly to apply, one coat and your good to go.

My Everyday Base Makeup for Tanned Skin

Body shop, hoola, rimmel, collection, collection 2000, everyday, base,

Since getting a glowing (If I do say so myself) tan on holiday my daily makeup routine has changed and the products I use everyday have changed too. My Ivory and Vanilla shade foundations are now taking a well earned rest and have been replaced with two darker products that don't see much light.

I am dabbling between my Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in Soft Beige and my Body Shop All-In-One BB Cream in shade 01. They both are a perfect shade for my tanned skin and keep my skin looking fresh and glowing.

To cover my eye bags and any spots or blemishes I use the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer in Cool Medium. The shade matches my foundation perfectly and covers up any bits I don't like.

To bronze and contour I have been using the Benefit Hoola Bronzer which I have never liked before. I never found that the shade suited me before so it used to just lay in my makeup draw collecting dust for months. Now that I have a tan I understand the hype about the bronzer, it really is a perfect bronze colour (on the right shade face).

If you have any recommendations of good foundations in these shades for glowing tanned skin let me know! I am liking this tanned look and may get back into regular fake tanning to keep it. (if I can be bothered to keep it up...)

A Few Holiday Purchases

During my quick Easter break in Barcelona I was amazed at the number of beauty/make up/body shops over there; to me it was heaven, to Cal it was hell. With so many shops I had to come back home with a few bits just because they were there.

The first item I was hunting round Barcelona for all weekend, I tried duty free at Luton and had no luck, I then went in every Sephora shop and still couldn't find it anywhere. It is the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Cream, which I wanted in the lotion form but it just wasn't anywhere in Spain apparently so I opted for the cream over the gel. It was on offer as well at 25 euros so bonus. I love the packaging of Clinique and previously has a smaller version of the lotion, so I'm sure I'll love the cream too and write a post after I've fallen in love with it.

Next is a Lush product which I wasn't expecting to pick up in Spain. Call me naïve but I didn't know Lush was that  big outside of the UK so this was a nice surprise to find. Although there are hundreds of Lush shops in England and I have one quite close to me, I still picked up this Lush Hottie Massage Bar as standing on the Metro how ever many times a day and walking miles were killing our backs and shoulders. We didn't use it over there in the end so I have it home now for next time our back decides to play up.

Next is another product I can easily get in the UK but it was only 12 euros over there when it is usually £12 in England and I have wanted to try this BB cream for a long while now so put it in my basket. It is the Body Shop All In One BB Cream in 01 which adapts to your natural skin tone. I have mixed feeling about this product right now, it is not at all what I expected and I definitely think I need to use it more to decide whether I like it or not.

Lastly, probably my favourite pick up is the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream. Now yes I know this is everywhere in Boots... but they never have any light shades! I go in every Boots near me and its 'warm beige, cool beige, light beige, rose beige' maybe some people don't have beige skin?! Maybe some people have lighter skin... Anyway I picked up the Ivory shade and I have wore this everyday since coming back and I am in love. I am picking this over all my foundations at the moment and still getting the same coverage. I will do a detailed post for you guys as I cant rave about this product enough!

And those were the few bits that I picked up while away, most of our money was spent on presents and paying to get in places and see things. Hope you enjoyed guys :)

The Body Shop Sale Bargains

The Body Shop is a shop that I love to spend my money in but I hardly ever go in it. I like to shop at my own pace and sometimes I look in the shop and there are 3 people working there and I know if I go in there, all three of them will ask me questions about what I'm looking for and begin to show me around. I don't like that when it comes to beauty products, I just like to mooch around every stand.

Saying that, I walked past the Kettering branch just after Christmas and noticed there was only one person working and she was behind the till so I pulled my boyfriend backwards and took this opportunity.

I'm so glad I did because I got some right bargains in store which I'm going to tell you about today.

The first is this Brazil Nut shower cream which I picked up for just £3. You can always count on The Body Shop products to smell amazing and these three products don't disappoint. This shower cream smells of a mix between chocolate chip cookies, brownies and cake batter. What could be better than washing yourself in cake batter?! It does make me want to eat myself but I do resist because I am not a cannibal...
This has been my go to shower product over January and considering I have used it nearly all through January I still have quite a lot left. The bottle packs a lot of product in, so I have loads to use but it doesn't take up all my room in my product box.

After buying this in the sale I think I have definitely be convinced to repurchase it at full price, if they still sell it because it leaves my skin so soft after my shower that I don't always need to apply a moisturiser after, and anything that means less work for me is a winner!

Next is this Chocomania body butter which I bought for... £1.50!! How amazing Is that price! I couldn't quite believe it and my boyfriend laughed at me because I got really excited when I realised how much it was, I then tried to pick up a few more of it but he gave me evils because I'm meant to be on a spending ban... Party popper!

Anyway I divert... this again smells of all things chocolate and it just makes me want to go downstairs and start baking. As you can see from the perfect point on the product, I haven't used this yet but I am so excited to. From looking at it I think it would be a really rich body butter and leave my skin feeling amazing.

Lastly I picked up this Blueberry body lotion for just £4, I told you I found some bargains!
This body lotion is very fruity smelling and the blueberry is a nice contrast to other lotions that smell of strawberries or the conventional fruits used in body lotions. It is very luxurious and leaves my skin really hydrated and refreshed. The smell lasts for hours so I always get a hint of blueberry through the day and unlike other lotions it isn't sticky or stiff at all, it is really easy to work into the skin and you feel like your skin just soaks it up.

I am very happy with my three purchases from The Body Shop and I cant quite believe how cheap they were, these have made me think twice about passing a Body Shop without at least having a peak at what they have inside.

Did any of you get any bargains in the sale?

Body Shop Lip Butter Heaven

My quest to find the perfect lip product to hydrate my lips is over. If you have been around for a long time you will know from the start of this blog, I have been on a quest to find the perfect lip balm.
I get really bad dry lips ever since I was a teen so I am always on the look out for a great lip product. I previous wrote a post on the lip balms I was using at the time (Battle Of The Lip Balms) and since then I have found what I was looking for.

I know this all sounds very fairy tale like but you would not believe how long I have wanted an all round lip balm that actually worked on my lips! The product in question is the
Body Shop Lip Butter in strawberry.

I picked this up in the Body Shop store in Cambridge for just £4 which is a good price for the quality of the product in my opinion. Although I love this product I don't think it would be everyone's cup of tea.

One of the reasons I love this product is because it has a really thick consistency so there is a lot of product to be absorbed by your lips so I feel it lasts a good time.

One down side to this, some may see it as,  is that it comes out as a rich white product on your hands and lips so it wouldn't be ideal to put onto of a lipstick or other lip product. It is absorbed quite easily but it would ruin any product on your lips.

This I don't mind about at all because I tend to use this product first thing in the morning and last thing at night and that lasts me the whole day and night so I have no need to reapply it.

Considering I have used this lip butter every morning and night since I bought it, the pot still has loads of product in so I do feel like it will last me a long time.

This product has become my new lip essential and already has a place in my morning and evening routines, which updated versions might be coming your way soon... I would recommend this product to anyone with severely dry lips who is looking for something rich and moisturising enough to use once a day to set your lips for the day ahead. Plus it smells of strawberries, would could be better!
