Period Pants | Do They Work?

period, pants, women, girls, periods, blood, review, Sainsbury, love luna, pinterest, bikini, investing, women's toiletries,

I know what you are thinking, eww. I thought that too when I was researching them. I liked the idea of the period pants but I wasn't too keen on the concept and the price tag. Although I wanted to try them out, I was in no real rush.

Then one day i found on social media a advert for some Period Knickers from Sainsbury for just £10. Since some period knickers on the market are around the £30 mark, this made me want to give these pants ago. If they did turn out to work, they would save me so much money and hassle in the long run.

I picked up two different designs (and quite a few were already sold out),  the Black Love Luna Period Midi Knickers and the Black Love Luna Period Bikini Knickers. Both I purchased in a size 8-10 which is normal for me so I would suggest staying true to size, the last thing you want is a baggy knicker full of blood. They both feel like I am wearing bikini bottoms instead of knickers which was strange at first but I go used to them. They are extremely comfortable to wear all day and luckily don't cut in to my skin at all. They are also made from stretchy material as well so they double as hold-in pants while you are bloated which is amazing.

Both knickers claim to hold up to 15ml of blood which equates to 2-3 tampons worth. I can confirm that after a full day of wearing them, I did not have any leaking problems or felt like the pants where too full to continue. I tend to have light periods in general (which I am grateful for) so these pants work great for me. I tend to only bleed for 3 out of the 7 days I am on my break from the pill so between the two pants, I was covered.

I thought I might have some leakage during the night as I am a bit of a stirrer while I sleep but I had no problem at all with these knickers. I rotated the two pairs during my 3 day bleed and so would change them every morning and evening.  After I had change, I would soak the pants in warm water and washing liquid to release most of the blood before I washed and dried them ready for the next day. Although this felt a bit like a faff at first, I fell into the routine and I do think one more pair of pants would help my routine out. One problem I thought I might incur while trying them is that they may smell during the day or I might be able to feel the blood throughout the day but surprising, I hardly felt anything as the knickers dried very quickly and I never smelt blood once while wearing them.

A little round of the main things I found with the knickers:

PROS
Fast drying
Reusable
Comfortable
Looks great underneath clothing
No odour
Saves money in the long run on products
Works as shape wear underneath clothing
No leaking
Easy to wash and keep fresh

CONS
Time consuming upkeep
Need to invest in enough knickers to cover days on period
Can be expensive if you try other brands
Can not guarantee they will work for heavy periods

As you can see the pros outweigh the cons for me but it is all done to personal preference. Some people don't mind using a tampon or pad whereas I can't use tampons and pads tend to irritate me after a while. So these knickers make my life so much easier. I defiantly will be purchasing at least one more pair to make my wash rotation a bit simpler and if you have any questions about the knickers, leave them below and I will answer them for you. Anything that makes that time of the month a little easier to great for everyone!

24th Birthday haul | Would I Repurchase? Full Reviews | Kiko, Glossier, Clinique, Urban Decay

April seems like a very long time ago considering in two months it will be a full year. Man time flies! Back in April i shared with you some of the beauty products i received for my 24th birthday (link), i thought i would write another post dedicated to these products to give you my feedback and all but two are high on my radar.

Starting off with the Urban Decay Naked Heat palette (linkwhich i have used non stop since April. My preference for eye shadow shades is basically this palette, i can make great everyday looks with this palette as well as ramp up the shades on the right side of the palette for a more dramatic look. I already had the Naked Palette 2 which was a holy grail for a very long time. Now this palette has overtook the old favourite in my opinion. The shades are generously pigmentation and the formula is really easy to blend, i don't know one person who dislikes this palette.

Drugstore Liquid Lipsticks Collection

Drugstore Liquid Lipsticks Collection

I have collected quite a few liquid lipsticks in the last few months since they become the new thing and after trying one and two from NYX I just wanted to have them all. I have the products from three different brands and as you can tell I definitely have my favourites.

The first brand I tried was Collection and their Velvet Kiss Lip Creams are only £2.99 which is a right bargain- which is why I bought four... I have the shades Caramel 2 which is a brown nude, Cotton Candy 1 which is a pink nude and then I bought two of the darker shades in Mulberry 5 and Blackberry 6 which are nice autumnal shades. The colours are really lovely but I find that the darker shades do come out quite patchy, they also dry my lips out to hell which makes them quite uncomfortable to wear on the lips. I thought it might just be my lips which were making them uncomfortable since I have the driest lips on earth but even my sister found they dried out her lips so I can't tell you how long this products last as I have taken it off every time I have applied it because it was uncomfortable. Sadly I don't think I will get much wear out of this creams.

I also purchased three Bodyshop Matte Lip Liquid in the shades Windsor Rose 032 which is a brown nude, Crete Carnation 030 which is is pink nude and Tahiti Hibiscus 016 which is a vibrant pink-red shade. I find that all the brands do very similar colours which means I end up with a lot of the same colours in my collection but I don't mind having 10 different nudes. The Bodyshop Lip Liquids are £6 each which isn't a too bad price considering you get more product then in the other packaging. Unlike the Collection Liquid Lipsticks I find the Bodyshop products tend to be a little bit  patchy in the lighter shades rather than the darker shades especially the brown nude so I do use two layers when I wear that shade just to make sure I have a even colour. Tahiti Hibiscus is the perfect pink-red shade for the a night out when you want your lips to last all night and the consistency of it is amazing, I do find that it lasts longer on my lips then my two nudes shades as well. I find this shade is least drying out of the three as well so where as the nude shows up any lines or dry patches on your lips, Hibiscus glosses over like a lip gloss and dries comfortably and leaves your lips with a subtle sheen. Can you tell how much I love this shade?! There is one down side to this shade, the product takes a while to dry on the lips so you have to be careful not to touch anything before they dry, otherwise you get the colour everywhere. It also comes off when you eat in the middle of your lips which isn't ideal.

My favourite brand for liquid lipsticks so far is definitely everyone's favourite NYX, I jumped on the bang wagon and have been in love with the brand every since. I have three shades in their Soft Matte Lip Creams and I am planning on increasing that number in the next few months but it is hard to know which shades to get, I do feel like I buy the same shades all the time (you can tell just by looking at all these liquid lipsticks!). I currently have in my collection Abu Dhabi which is brown nude, Cannes which is a pink/dark brown nude and San Paulo which is a bright pink/red similar to Tahiti Hibiscus but a little lighter. I find myself reaching for these lipsticks the most because the pigmentation of all the shades is amazing and the product is so buttery it applies so easily. Whether my lips are having a dry day or they are feeling pretty normal these lipsticks sit tight all day and only need reapplying when I have eaten. The thing I love most about this lipsticks is that they are so creamy they apply really well so I don't end up with any patches and it doesn't look like I am wearing anything on my lips. Where as with the Bodyshop lipsticks they can accentuate the lines on your lips and make it obvious you have product on them, the NYX lipsticks don't do this.

Tanya Burr Beautifully Defined Palette

When Tanya Bur first released her makeup range in 2014 I wasn't too interested in her products at all, but her 2016 make up collection is absolutely right up my street. As soon as she uploaded a video of her using the products I knew I had to have them. I purchased the Face Illuminator months ago and fell in love with it so when I realised I got the Tanya Burr Beautifully Defined palette for Christmas I was so happy.
First of all the packaging is just gorgeous, compared to the packaging of her first range the packaging of this range is so much better. The palette has a magnetic lock which is a very nice touch indeed and as you open it you have a heart shaped mirror on the left hand side and all the product is on the right hand side.

After trying the Face Illuminator I knew I would like the other products in the range and I was right. Included in the palette is a squeeze-y tub of highlighter, three eye shadow shades, a powder highlighter and a powder bronzer.
The liquid highlighter is an absolutely gorgeous golden shimmer highlight which is very much the spiting image of her Face Illuminator if not a little more glittery. It will be amazing in the summer when I have a tan and want to look sun kissed and golden.
The powder highlighter (Champagne Shimer) is more a subtle version of the liquid highlighter which I have been using non stop so far this month. Whereas the liquid highlighter is more golden, the powder highlighter is more toned down and more of winter highlight in my opinion which is why I have loved it.
The bronzer shade (Caramel Kiss) is a lovely subtle powder bronzer which really suits my skin tone and I have really liked wearing since I got it. In the pan the bronzer looks quite dark but on the skin it isn't too dark or over the top.
The three eye shadow shades are really easy to wear everyday bronze shades. Cuddle Me is a lovely brown crease shade which I have been using all over the lids. Silk Pyjamas is a gorgeous golden brown which I like to pat on top of Cuddle Me to add some shimmer to the look. Baking Brownie is a dark chocolate brown which I have been using lightly in the crease to give my eyes some extra dimensions.

I would really recommend this palette as there isn't one thing I wouldn't use in this which is hard to come by with some brands. The products are high quality and work really well together. I do want to try more of the Tanya Burr range but since I am on a spending ban I think I'll just window shop for now!

PS... Eye Shadow Palettes

eye shadow, palettes, primark, review, beauty, makeup, nudes, pinks, the girl gang, blogging gals,

I have got a lot of things in Primark over the years but if you told me I would purchase and really like their brand of makeup I would not have believed you. I am not a snob when it comes to makeup at all, drugstore brands are my baes for life and Newlook makeup is just incredible but Primark, I was sceptical  about.

I was feeling adventurous one day when I was in Primark with my sister so decided to try two of their eye shadow palette for £2.99 each. First of all that is ridiculously cheap! I did think even if the product wasn't any good It isn't like i've wasted much money. You get 9 shades in the palettes which is a great number and I picked up two palettes. A neutral brown selection and a more pink and purple selection which I thought I could have a little play with one day.
eye shadow, palettes, primark, review, beauty, makeup, nudes, pinks, the girl gang, blogging gals,

Both Palettes have a base colour in the selection which I like as recently I have been using base colours. I find all the shades I have tried so far are really creamy, more creamy then I expected to be perfectly honest so that was a good surprise. They aren't ridiculously pigmented with one swipe like the Naked Palettes but I find they are really easy to build up and make dramatic.

The nude palette is perfect for creating a everyday smokey eye and would be great for beginners who want to play around with makeup since it wouldn't matter about wasting the product on practice runs. And for people like me who only really wear smokey eye colours, spending £2.99 on a palette with different colours then what I'm used to is an absolute bargain. I am very careful not to waste money on expensive makeup which I don't know whether I would like or get use out off.

The packaging is very much copying Mac but that definitely works in their favor as younger girls (and boys) who can't afford a Mac palette can purchase this instead. Obviously the product isn't the same but this palette is a good item to hold you over until you can purchase the expensive version. It is also a great size for traveling.

Since buying these I have found that most days this last week I have used the brown palette because it is really quick and easy to blend out and go. I even got complimented on my eye makeup at work and that has never happened when I have wore Mac or Urban Decay before. That makes it a winner for me!

Pure Lips #2

pure, lips, newlook, lipstick, review, makeup,

Newlook have done it again with even more beautiful shades in their reformulated lip stick collection. Since my last post I have purchased another 6 shades plus two lip crayons from their collection.

I love Newlook lip sticks because they are so creamy and rich, the colour lasts a long time on your lips and for me, they don't leave my lips flakey or dry like some lipsticks. They also come in such a wide range of colours so no matter what you are into, there is a shade for you.

pure, lips, newlook, lipstick, review, makeup,

My first shade is this gorgeous dark nude shade called Camel which I have worn non stop since I bought it. It is a more darker browner nude shade then the previous two that I purchased and its my favourite out of all of them. I have been wearing this shade during the day at work while I am wearing big eye make up. Strawberry is an amazing bright red shade which is more on the pink side. I haven't had an opportunity to try out this shade yet but I know it will be perfect for the summer time with rosy cheeks. Magenta is a fushia pink shade which I have had my eye on for some time and then it went into the sale for £2 so I couldn't resist a cheeky purchase. Again I haven't tried out this shade yet because I am too obsessed with dark eye shadows but I can't wait to give it a whirl. Mid Pink is a darker fushia shade which has become a favourite of mine lately. Its darker then the Magenta shade but not so dark that you can't wear a smokey eye with it. Bright pink is my most adventurous shade that I purchased and I did purchase it on a bit of a whim but it is so beautiful. It is a typical barbie pink shade. My last lip shade is this lovely dark red shade with a hint of plum in it called Burgandy. I love this shade with minimal make up and the shade really suits my skin tone.

pure, lips, newlook, lipstick, review, makeup,

I recently picked up two lip crayons too in the shade Camel and Plum. The colour pay off for these crayons are really good compared to other lip crayons I have purchased. The crayons are moisturing on the lips and the colour lasts for most of the day on me. The Camel lip crayon is very similar to the Camel lipstick but a little bit more creamier and moisturing and the Plum crayon is a super wearable dark plum shade.

If you have never tried the Newlook makeup range I would strongly recommend you try at least one lip product from them. I usually pick these lip shades over all my other lip products so they are definitely worth a try in my opinion,

Revolution Lip Crayons

Revolution Lip Pencils

After getting this set of Revolution Lip Crayons for my birthday I was excited to try them out as Make up Revolution is fast becoming one of my favourite budget brands. These haven't disappointed at all in my eyes.

You get three colours in the set, a nude/orange shade, a red shade and a bright pink shade and all of these crayons don't have any codes on them so I'm sorry if they are hard to find. These crayons apply really easily to the lips and last a good amount of time without going cakey. You don't have to worry about putting too much product on your lips as the colour comes out lightly and you can build it up, which I find better than products that come out too much.

My favourite shade to use is the nude-y orange as it is the most natural of all the shades and looks really nice with bronzed cheeks. Although I got these products as a birthday gift I can imagine that they wont cost that much as the brand is so affordable.

I also have these super cute little lip glosses as another set and I cant wait to use these lip glosses during the summer when I want a pop of colour on my lips.

Revolution Lip Glosses

Lush Ultrabland Cleanser | The Only Cleanser For Me

Lush Ultrabland Cleanser

Lush Ultrabland Cleanser

I have tried quite a few Lush products over the last year when I discovered them (yes I know I am always late to the party) and one product has stood out for me as being the best. I started using the Ultrabland Cleanser half way through last year and since I started using it, I have never used anything else to remove my makeup.

I used to have a love hate relationship with make up as I love applying it but I dreaded removing it at the end of the day and constantly tried new cleansers and make up removers as I never got on with one product for long. Either they left product still on my skin after using it or they didn't take all my eye makeup off. This problem often left me going make up free most days because I didn't want to have the hassle of removing it.

I read a review on this cleanser (I can not remembered who's review it was so I apologise for not mentioning them) on Bloglovin and instantly wanted to give it a go. I purchased a tub from my nearest Lush store and I haven't looked back since purchasing it and I am on my second tub now.

I usually use this product by applying it with my fingers all over my face and working the product into my skin especially onto my lashes, because Lush only use natural ingredients in their products I can rub this product into my eyes and not flinch at all which makes taking off mascara so much easier. I use my flannel to wash off all the product on my face, some people find that they cant wash all the product off in one go but by using a flannel I never have an residue left. I find this cleanser so moisturising on my skin that if I am in a rush I don't feel the need to moisturise my face after. Even with my sensitive skin this product has never irritated me once which is why I love it so much. My first tub lasted me about half a year even though I used it every night and most mornings so I am really pleased with the size of the tub and the quality of the product.

If you are looking for a product that is both healthy for your skin and can be used all over your face this product is the winner. Depending on what size tub you purchase it will cost you either £7.25 or £11.50 which is not bad at all. This is definitely something to try if you suffer from sensitive skin.

Bourjois CC cream

Bourjois CC Cream

I have already mentioned my love for this product in my Simple Face Of The Day post but I thought it deserved its own post too because it is so amazing. Now I am a person who is easily pleased I will admit it but no product has made me fall in love as easy as this CC cream.

The product claims to cover redness, dark spots and is anti-fatigue. I can honestly say that it definitely does the first two without a doubt. I have spoken before on here about the problem I have with my red cheeks, although my skincare currently is helping my problem greatly this CC cream also covers any red skin I still have perfectly. It also gives my skin a lovely glow which I find my current stash of foundations do no compare to. I am prone to have dark bags underneath my eyes from time to time and this CC cream completely covers them and doesn't crease in my eye wrinkles which is a bonus!

The glow I get with this CC cream as well as a few swipes of my W7 chubby contour stick give me the best bronzed (but not fake tanned looking) face and since starting using this product, I haven't reached for anything else. I find this product lasts all day on me and I still have the same glowy skin at 6pm as I did at 9am.

It has a super light weight texture for the coverage that it gives which is the best combination in my opinion. I never feel like my face is caked in product but I also never have the fear that my patchy skin will still be visible after applying it. I find that using this product is actually making my skin better, every time I take my makeup off when I am using this product my skin is still hydrated and even.

I don't want to harp on too much about this product but it definitely is a winner for me. I know I am a little late to the party but am I ever not? I plan to repurchase this product once I have used up the tube, which wont be too long the amount I am using it at the moment.

Have any of you tried the Bourjois CC cream? What did you think?

Clinique Sculpting Chubby Stick

I'm sure everyone has seen this product floating around the blogsphere by now and before it even started popping up everywhere I picked this item up on a shopping trip to try out, does that mean I'm physic? I hope so...

I have been using this contour stick for a few weeks now and I love the idea of the product, it makes contouring so easy for beginners but I tend not to use it for contouring at all.

Although everyone and their mum has raved about how this stick gives a good natural contour to your face, I find that it blends in too well for my liking so I feel like I haven't actually contoured my face at all. I find I get a much better contour which stands out (still naturally) with my Revolution Protection Palette. If you really want to make an impact with this product you need to put a lot of it on, but in doing that I found I was after blending, leaving myself with a big brown cheek. I instead use the stick to bronze my forehead and nose on top of contour and find it works really well at giving me a nice glow and warms my face up when I am having a pale day.

For now I think I will stick to my Revolution Protection Palette to actually contour my face but I have also bought a W7 contour stick which I have found to work better for me at contouring so W7 might convert me to crème contours properly, I'll let you know!

A look at W7 mascaras

I was sorting through my mascaras trying to find a waterproof one, which I found I was seriously lacking in, when I found that I had accumulated a number of W7 mascaras without even realising, and that they were actually my favourite mascaras to use.

I have three mascaras to talk about today which are all under £2 (from B&M) and work just as well as my more expensive mascaras. They are all in similar size packaging with just one difference. The first mascara I ever picked up from W7 is not made of plastic like the other packaging it is more of a rubbery material which does get dirty really easily ( as you can see in the photos).

Apart from that I love all of these mascaras and use them all for different reasons. None of the wands are the same shapes and are all extra large which I really like. My favourite wand is the Eyelust mascara as it is really big and gets all my lashes. The Showing Out mascara has an even larger wand which makes my lashes so big. The Lashtastic mascara is the smallest wand of them all but has small fibres in it that attaches to your lashes and makes look much fuller and thicker.

I find when I am using these mascaras that I don't have to deal with any annoying clumping which is the most annoying thing in the world ( hands up if you agree with me!).

I think these mascaras are so good for the affordable price they are and I do find that I tend to reach for these mascaras more than any of my others, and I have quite a rediculous number of mascaras at the moment.

Make Up Revolution Protection Palette

Shock I've bought another Make Up Revolution product! I think I do have some sort of obsession, I'm sure Make Up Revolution aren't complaining!

This purchase I have Rachel Coco to blame for, she wrote a great post here on the product and that was enough for me to go on the website and buy it. I have been looking for a nice contour palette that would actually suit my skin tone and that I could use everyday. I previously bought the sleek contour palette in medium and at first I loved it, but then winter came and I never used it because it was way too dark for my pale skin no matter how little I put on and how much I blended it out, that number now lives in my more tanned sisters make up bag.

So I was really excited to try this palette that I purchased in light. I was really excited to have it because it had everything in it that I would need. The only thing I haven't used in the palette yet are the concealers and that Is because I am too stuck in my ways with my beloved concealer palette that I have had for ages now and swear by. Apart from them all the other sections have been tried and tested.

Powder
I really like the powder I think it sets the contour and blush really well. One thing I did find was that when I used it on my concealer and I then went outside in the cold, my eyes started watering and then when I got home I noticed crusty bits under my eyes where the powder had mixed with my tears, which wasn't a nice looking thing. So I have learnt my lesson and since then I haven't used it to set my concealer.

Contour
The contour is the perfect shade for me, I use my Real Techniques setting brush to draw a line of contour powder across my check bones and then use my Real Techniques multi task brush to blend it out and make it look more natural on my check bones. So far I have never put so much on that I haven't been able to blend it out naturally, so there is no chance of me looking like a drag queen using this!

Blush
The blush is a very natural pink shade that looks nice and natural next to the contour. I tend to draw a line of this blush directly above my contour line and then blend really well in together. I find all of Make Up Revolutions blushes are of high quality and this one is no exception.

Highlight
This is possible my favourite out of the whole palette, the dreamy highlight. It is a lovely pale pink glittery shade which looks great on the top of cheek bones and doesn't make me look shiny or like a Disney fairy.

This is a great all round product and for only £6 you get so much in one palette. I used this on my sister and she absolutely loved it so I have bought her one for her birthday so I am spreading the word!

Body Shop Lip Butter Heaven

My quest to find the perfect lip product to hydrate my lips is over. If you have been around for a long time you will know from the start of this blog, I have been on a quest to find the perfect lip balm.
I get really bad dry lips ever since I was a teen so I am always on the look out for a great lip product. I previous wrote a post on the lip balms I was using at the time (Battle Of The Lip Balms) and since then I have found what I was looking for.

I know this all sounds very fairy tale like but you would not believe how long I have wanted an all round lip balm that actually worked on my lips! The product in question is the
Body Shop Lip Butter in strawberry.

I picked this up in the Body Shop store in Cambridge for just £4 which is a good price for the quality of the product in my opinion. Although I love this product I don't think it would be everyone's cup of tea.

One of the reasons I love this product is because it has a really thick consistency so there is a lot of product to be absorbed by your lips so I feel it lasts a good time.

One down side to this, some may see it as,  is that it comes out as a rich white product on your hands and lips so it wouldn't be ideal to put onto of a lipstick or other lip product. It is absorbed quite easily but it would ruin any product on your lips.

This I don't mind about at all because I tend to use this product first thing in the morning and last thing at night and that lasts me the whole day and night so I have no need to reapply it.

Considering I have used this lip butter every morning and night since I bought it, the pot still has loads of product in so I do feel like it will last me a long time.

This product has become my new lip essential and already has a place in my morning and evening routines, which updated versions might be coming your way soon... I would recommend this product to anyone with severely dry lips who is looking for something rich and moisturising enough to use once a day to set your lips for the day ahead. Plus it smells of strawberries, would could be better!

Kiko Universal Fit Hydrating Foundation

Today I am talking about a gem I have discovered recently. I remember when I used to go between the same two foundations and I never really pushed the boat out as I liked being in my comfort zone, now look at me, I have a whole section of foundations in my makeup draw which is overfilling!

Anyway around new years myself and my boyfriend took a trip down to Cambridge (my favourite place) for the day, we planed to do a little shopping and then explore the town before our reservation at Jamie's Italian which I highly recommend! Back to the point we ended up spending most of the day in the centre spending lots and lots of money. It was in the centre that I discovered a new makeup shop called Kiko Makeup.

I had never heard of this make before so convinced my boyfriend to have a browse with me. I picked up the Universal Fit foundation in the shade 02 Light Rose as the Ivory shade looked just too light for me. This shade I think this is going to be brilliant in the summer when I have more of tan but I can still get away with it right now. I tend to wear one of my other foundations on my face and then use a foundation brush to apply this to my cheeks, it makes my cheeks more prominent and gives me a dewy glow but doesn't give me the look that I've dragged a brush of bronzer across my cheeks to fake my cheeks. My cheeks are big and prominent anyway due to my face shape but this foundation just gives them a little boast and gives me a nice flush.

This foundation gives a good medium coverage so I have no problem using this to hide any annoying spots of blemishes, and the consistency of this foundation  is good enough so you only need a little bit of product to cover your whole face if I am using it as my primary foundation for the day. I also find it lasts all day on me so I don't start the day looking nice and creamy bronzed and then end the day looking like i have covered my face in talcum powder. Winner! The foundation also claims to be hydrating on your skin and I must agree, I have quite dry skin which needs loving regularly and this foundation never shows my dry patches or drys out my skin even more. Like I said, Winner!

I would definitely recommend this foundation if you are looking for a dewy glow and a peachy shade out of the many different shades they have. It is also great if you want a foundation that you don't need to top up with powder during the day and only silly people wouldn't want that! I can't remember how much this was when I bought it but it is definitely under the £10-15 mark so it's affordable and it works!

Have any of you tried this foundation? Tell me what you think!

Revolution The Matte Effect Foundation

I ordered a bunch of products off of the Revolution makeup website at the beginning December as I had read so many reviews of the products they were selling and I wanted to try them for myself. Since then I have bought quite a lot of things off of the website, I posted about the Fluid Blushes previously here and I already have other posts lined up of more products i want to talk about so stay tuned if you are interested in the brand!

Here I'm going to talk about the Matte Effect Foundation, something that has been used quite a bit over the Christmas period.

When I clicked on this product I first thought it was a type of bb cream more than a foundation and since using it I find it works like a really good bb cream. At first it looks like it hasn't done anything to your skin but then I don't know whether it's just me but I feel like It starts to work after you have worn it for a minute or two, it's only then that I see the effect it has on my skin, werid!

It gives a good light coverage which can be built up if you wanted more, but I personally like to wear this foundation on my good skin days because I think it isn't great at covering up blemishes but it is great at evening out your skin.

I think it gives me a nice healthy glow and it is super easy to apply, you don't need to worry about working it in to your skin for ages. I personally like to apply this product with my hands just because it is easier and not as messy as foundation. The best thing about this foundation? I find that it does last me all day at work which is surprising!

All in all I would rate this foundation a good 6 out of 10. It's only downfall in my opinion is that it could be better at covering up blemishes and it is because of that I don't see this as being a foundation but more of a bb cream.

Have any of you lovelies tried this too? Tell me what you think! Xx

Reunited with my second skin

Today is a good day, and why is that you ask? Today is a good day because I have finally been reunited with my one true love. I don't think my boyfriend would appreciate me saying that but I think I've made my point.
I first purchased this foundation a whole year ago and after the first try I was in love. After that first try this foundation went straight to my imaginary first place in my foundation chart. If I'm being honest I was quite upset when I finished the bottle but because I had gone a little crazy on the foundation while I had it, I wouldn't let myself buy it again until I have used up some of the foundations I already had (and if I'm honest I still have 5 in my make up draw and I have just ordered 2 from Makeup Revolution so I shouldn't have bought it tbh)

There are many reasons why this foundation is my personal favourite, one reason being that it applies really well to the skin and it doesn't matter how you apply, whether you are using a foundation flat brush or your fingers. It also doesn't look cakey even if you layer it up to cover bad skin and you don't need much to cover bad skin I find as a little bit of product really evens out your skin.
Another thing I love about this foundation is the colour it comes out as on your skin, all the foundations I have are in the shade Ivory but this foundation makes my skin glow like no other and look like I've been on holiday (or at least sat in the garden for an afternoon). Don't get me wrong it doesn't make me look brown or orange, it gives me a good tan and boy do I need it!

The foundation itself lasts a long time, I wore it to my works Christmas party (which I was actually ill for so you can imagine how much fun I had...) and it lasted until the early morning and it helped made me look healthy and not a big ill mess.
When I first started this blog I used to rave about this foundation at any given opportunity and now that its back in my life I think it is safe to warn you all to prep yourself for some more, I expect I will be including this foundation in many make up posts in the future!

Sleek Contouring palette

I have finally finally bought the sleek contouring palette Yay! I've seen so many reviews on this product and the hype was too much to resist. Although to have wanted this for months now so I'm proud I've lasted this long.

First of, one thing I love about this palette is the packaging, it's simple and let's the product speak for itself, and it's easy to fit in your handbag on a night out.

All three shades in the palette are useful and well loved. I've never been a fan of highlighters before so this is my first and I have to say it has been used on plenty of days. The bronze shade is perfect for people like me who on some days can look really pale and then on others can have a nice tan. The contour is a heaven sent! It's my first of it's kind and I am loving using it. The best thing about the three shades is that they are really easy to work in so I'm never afraid im going to walk out the house with a giant brown cheek.

The staying power of this palette is really impressive, I can use it at half 7 when I'm getting ready for work and it's still on my cheeks when I get home at 6.

The big question is, is this palette worth £10? Hell yeah it is!
You get three great colours which all do different jobs, it lasts all day compared to other bronzers and contours, it is easy to pack and take anywhere because the packaging is simple and the casing is easy to clean.
I'd say I'd found a winner!

Revlon photo ready crème blush | 300 Coral reef

Hello lovelies!

I have a review on a Revlon blush product for you guys which has been in at least one of my monthly favourites and a few other make up tag posts in recent months. I'm going to be talking about the Revlon photo ready crème blush in the shade 300 coral reef.

I'm going to start off by saying this is my first crème blush product (aside from a really old product I had when I was little from a Sabrina the teenage witch magazine) and so when I purchased this late last year for a Halloween make up idea, I didn't know what to expect from it and to be completely honest I didn't know how to use it.

The shade is actually perfect for my skin tone I think, it looks really red in the pot and if you use too much on your cheeks, then you will end up with bright red cheeks but if you know how much to use on your face, it can look really nice and natural and healthy. It gives me a really nice healthy glow to my cheeks which I love.

After a lot of practice I now know the trick to applying it, after countless tries where I ended up looking like a china doll! The product is super pigmented so you only need a little bit of product on your fingers to make it work on your cheeks. I know it may be unhygienic to use my fingers but I find that it works best for me so I just keep doing it haha.

I put a little bit onto my fingers and then do a duck face as you do... I rub the product on to my cheeks in a circular motion and make sure that I really rub it in so it is all even. Most of the time I will then use my flat top blush brush to blend it out even more just to make sure it looks all natural.

It looks really nice by itself on 'no make up days' and it also works really well with other blush products which are a bit darker to make more of a statement for a night out.

I find that this lasts longer than any other powder blush product that I own even when I've been at work all day it stays put until the end, I would say it has converted me to crème blushes and I never thought I would have said that.

This is a product that I would definitely repurchase and I am excited to try the different shades in the range, have any of you tried it? What are your thoughts? :)

Olay Total Effects Blemish Care Moisturiser

This face moisturiser is my new little gem. No matter whether I am wearing makeup or not, I use this on my face everyday. It is great to put underneath primers, concealers and foundations and doesn't effect any of them.

I picked it up on a whim while I was out shopping and thought 'hey I don't like any of my face moisturisers at the moment, I'll try this one'. I have a few at home already which I don't like using in the morning as I think my makeup doesn't apply normally afterwards so because of this problem, I just didn't apply moisturiser, but with this moisturiser I can put my makeup on straight afterwards and it stills goes on nicely and lasts probably longer.

My skin is definitely smoother since I have been applying this moisturiser everyday so it does what it says in the name. I do not know if the anti-aging side of the moisturiser works as I am only 19 so don't have old wrinkly skin.. but I have faith that if my skin started going south *touches wood* this cream would my out.  I have a feeling that it wouldn't last as long as my other moisturisers as the tub is smaller than my other pots and I've already gone through quite a lot of it already, but I would be willing to pay the money for it. It is normally £9.99 on boots.com but I got it in my local B&M shop for £3.99. So at £3.99 I don't mind going through it quickly.

This is the end of this mini review for you, if you enjoy these let me know and I'll continue as I few more goodies to write about for you guys :)

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation

If you are looking for a good coverage matte mousse foundation then you need to look no further. I can't fault Rimmel for their foundations, this is my third foundation of theirs and like the previous ones, I am in love. Rimmel just know what they are doing and you can't go wrong in my opinion with these. I have their True Match and Wake Me Up foundations which are both great products. This new matte foundation have been very popular so far and I can see why.

It leaves a nice matte finish on your skin and gives good coverage if you are having a bad skin day. I purchased it in the shade Ivory which is my normal foundation shade but I like that this is a little bit more pigmented then my other foundations.

The colour blends out really well so it doesn't look caked on and a little pea size amount of product goes a very long way. When I first tried this out I put way too much on and so looked like some sort of orange/brown drag queen, but once I took it all off (what a waste) and then reapplied it I realised I only needed the tiniest amount to cover my entire face. The tube the product comes in is only thin but because you only need a small amount of product, the size of the tube makes no difference.

I've found that this lasts for most of the day on me, even on the days when I'm running around like a headless chicken at work so the staying power of this foundation is really good. Compared to my other Rimmel foundations I think it may even last longer then them.

This is my first mousse foundation that I have used and I can't decide whether I prefer it to normal liquid foundations or not. It gives more of a coverage then the liquid products and lasts longer but it does feels more heavy on your skin.

Overall Rimmel has definitely won me over again with their new matte foundation, it gives a good coverage and lasts my long days at work so it will definitely make its way into my imaginary everyday makeup bag.

What do you guys think of it? :)
