First up are two foundations which I have been a fan of for a long time now right from when I first started wearing makeup. I have wrote a few blog posts about Rimmel foundations over the years and I had used up all my bottles in the past and hadn't repurchased any in a while. The current foundations in my collections just weren't doing it for my this past month so I used the Rimmel 2for12 pound -my pound sign on my laptop isn't working :(- promotion and picked up formulas I know work for me. The Lasting Finish 25 hour and the Match Perfection foundations are both easy to wear, blendable long wearing foundations which I know no matter what my face is doing on the day, this foundation will work. I'll keep you updated gals!
I've also picked up the Nyx Tame and Frame tinted brow pomade in Brunette to try since I think it is time I joined the pomade hype. Late to the game I know but I have never really been too fuzzed about brows since I'v had big boys for years, but lately they seem to look a little more sparse then normal so I think I need some help. I haven't tried it yet so I can't give you my opinion on it, lets just hope the the colour works for me!
I thought it was about time I started looking after my skin now I am 24 this year so I picked up the Clinique Pep Start Eye Cream to try and see if I like it. Whether or not I will remember to use it every day I don't know but I'm excited to give it a whirl.
Lastly I was given the Urban Decay Naked Flush palette from a friend for Christmas and I've been so busy this month I haven't actually took it out of the box yet... I'm sorry. I am really going to focus working this into my daily routine and see how I get on with it. I love Urban Decay's eye shade palettes so I know I will like the blush and contour shades, I just need to see if the shades work for me!
I haven't wrote a beauty post on this blog for what feels like ages (when actually I wrote one last month) so I think my blog is well over due some beauty chat! My makeup bag has changed a lot recently so I thought I'd take you through what is currently living in it.
Firstly for base I have been using the L'oreal Infallible 24hr matte foundation in vanilla which I repurchased last month. I used to be obsessed with this foundation last year as it is really easy to apply and it is fool proof foundation. After repurchasing it I can remember why I loved it so much but I do which I bought it in a darker shade as it doesn't suit my tanned neck and shoulders so much... My tan is starting to fade now though so I can get away with it with some bronzer all over my face.
For concealers I currently have 3 in my makeup bag to go between as I am trying out two new products. The Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer is of course in my bag for obvious reasons, my spots aren't going to cover themselves! I also have the Rimmel Match Perfection and the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealers in the shade Ivory to try out. So far I have found the wake me up concealer does crease under neath my eyes but I like it once it set down with powder, the match perfection concealer hasn't wowed me yet but I know a lot of people love this concealer so I will keep trying it till I like it.
I've been using the NYX Eye Shadow in the colour taupe to contour my cheeks which is the perfect shade to contour with and this is all I use most days. I find it doesn't look muddy like some contour products which is one of the reasons I keep it in my makeup bag to touch up any makeup look.
I keep the Max Factor Excess Shimmer Cream Eye Shadow in Bronze in my makeup bag because most days I can't be bothered to do anything fancy with powder eye shadows so I have been living in this eye shadow most days. I like to most days put a thin layer of colour on my lids to keep it casual and then if I am running out straight for the evening then I layer more product on to make the colour more prominent.
Lastly for my eyebrows I have gone back to using the Soap and Glory Brow Archery pencil in Brown and the Rimmel Super Curler Mascara on my lashes which I am really liking right now. It has a bent wand which makes it easier to grab all the lashes and I have a few super short bent eye lashes which this mascara can get so it is a winner.
Lastly on my lips I have been non stop wearing the Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in the shade Sand which is the perfect sheer nude shade to throw on with any makeup look.

The one drugstore brand who I think know their foundations really well are Rimmel, they dominate my foundation collection by more than half and every formula they come out with suits my skin so well. Rimmel is one of the first brands I started using when I dove into makeup in my teens and I still love the same products now.
My all time favourite foundation and the first one I ever tried out is the Rimmel Wake Me Up. This foundation gives me perfect glowy skin and a little subtle shimmer to my skin. It has a medium coverage so it covers most blemishes and it doesn't cake on my face no matter how much product I put on. yay! The shimmer to the foundation isn't to everyone's taste but I love the glow it gives me and that's why this foundation is a staple in my summer makeup bag. Plus for a smaller size bottle the product lasts for ages!
I have this product in 100 Ivory and 200 Soft Beige
Another formula I love from Rimmel is their Match Perfection foundation which was my holy grail foundation for about 2 years. This is my bog standard good skin in a bottle foundation, no matter what my skin is playing at at the time this foundation comes to the rescue every time. It again is a medium coverage which is build-able depending on how your skin is behaving and how much product you want to use. I specially like to use this formula when my skin is particularly red and patchy as you can never till once I have this foundation on. This foundation is my go to holiday/tanned shade.
I have this product in 201 Classic Beige
My last formulation I am going to talk about is the Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 hr foundation. I have this foundation in both the Nude and the Comfort Serum, to be completely honest I can't tell the difference between them but I love them both. This is the foundation which is 9/10 times in my handbag with me in case I need a touch up or I am on the move somewhere. Like the match perfection formula this foundation gives me good skin when my skin isn't particularity behaving and can be built up to give more than the medium coverage that it gives with one layer.
I have this product in 103 True Ivory and 200 Soft Beige.
One thing I love about Rimmel Foundations is the price, you can't go wrong with a good foundation for £7.99. It doesn't matter what brand I try for a new base - and I am trying to branch out a little bit- I always find my way back to Rimmel as I know their products work for my skin. All three formulas blend really easily into the skin so that it doesn't look like you have a layer of slap on and they last all day.

One blogger that I always keep up to date with is Corrie from Dizzybrunette3. I have been following her for a while now and I love reading her posts. One product that she has raved about on her YouTube channel here and what has been talked about by many other bloggers has been the Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation.
I am a dedicated Rimmel foundation lover I have three foundations all of different formulas in my collection and I really wanted to try out this new formula as well, but I couldn't justify buying another foundation when I didn't really need one.
Then Corrie uploaded her January Favourites video here and it was enough to make me finally buy it. When it comes to foundation I always trust Corrie because although I don't know her at all, I know that she knows when a foundation is good.
So I finally have it, for £8 which is a bargain and makes me think why didn't I just buy it anyway. I picked it up the shade 103 Ivory, I do want to get a new foundation in a darker shade because most of my foundations are skin colour and quite pale but I played it safe with this foundation to make sure I liked it.
First impressions of it:
Like my other Rimmel foundations, it is a good medium to full coverage which hasn't ended up cakey on my face. The colour is a more tanned ivory shade which is just what I wanted (I recently have a random tan appear on my shoulders and neck so they colour suits it perfectly) It is easy to blend in and cover any redness or pigmentation I have. Plus I do find that this foundation does last all day, I don't need to reapply it or add any powder to it through out the day.
So far so good, i'm interested to see whether I love it just as much as I love my Rimmel Wake Me Up and Match Perfection foundations.
