Festive Party Eyes #2

Festive Eyes #2

Festive Eyes #2

I am all about the glitter eye shadows during the party season and i have a few favourite products which get a lot of attention this time of year.

First off is my baby palette which i whip out every year, the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette which has some of the best shimmer gold shades. It has everything you would need for a smokey eye or a simple shimmer lid and the shades are so pigmented, especially for shimmers. You can make some easy quick looks with this palette and it is good to travel with for a weekend away for a special occasion.

Another palette from Urban Decay is the Naked Heat palette which is a mix of shimmer and matte red, orange and burgundy shades which i have fallen in love with. I really like the look of a burgundy eye and lip, which really suits my features and makes it look like i have out a lot of effort into my makeup.

The last palette in the post is the Revolution Iconic Pro palette which is super old now and basically a dupe for the Naked 2 palette but i use it just as much as the Naked version. I like to mix between the two palettes and create different looks. The packaging has changed for this palette but the shades are the same so it is worth a look if you are on a budget.

When i switch it up to a cream shadow i like to use the Collection Glam Crystals in shades divine and Envy. I like to use these cream shadows on their own or as a base underneath a powder shadow. You can either apply a thin layer for a subtle shimmer or a few layers to really build up the colour. During the day when i don't have much plans but i want to look a bit festive, i like to use these cream shadows to add a pop of colour which is subtle.

Another cream shadow i love are the Max Factor Excess Shimmer pots (similar) which are super easy to apply and look so pigmented on the lids. You can either use your fingers or a makeup brush to apply these pots but i do tend to just use my fingers as it blends out much quicker and easier.

Lastly i have the PS Bronze Metallic Eye Cream which is a rich gold shade which is really pretty. I don't use this as often as i use the Max Factor Shadow but that is mainly because the Max Factor product is my favourite cream shadow and is the easiest to apply.

My eye makeup doesn't change up very often as i don't tend to buy a lot of eye makeup, so i like to try and make lots of different eye looks with the palettes I've got. I'm a little more adventurous then i used to be so hopefully one day i will move away from earthy nude shades.

What is your go to festive eye look?

Five Products I'm Loving This Summer

The W7 palette is much more darker in real life I not sure why it looks so pale....

Since the heat wave started in England I have been living my best sun kissed life (apart from when I'm drenched in sweat...) and I have been returning to the same five products every day to help me keep my glow.

The first is the Revolution Vivid Baked Bronzer in the shade Golden Days which if you have been around for a while you will know this was my favourite bronzer back when I started this blog in 2014. I like bronzers that are warmed toned without being too dark because although I have olive skin not all bronzers suit me, this bronzer is really easy to blend and it is a steal at just £4.

Now I'm going to do that horrible thing where I talk about a product that isn't available anymore I'm sorry! It's currently sold out on the website but it may still be in shops I hope! The bronzer in question is the Fall 2.0 Baked Bronzer in 01 Warm Melange which was a bit more expensive at £22.90 but it is an amazing bronzer especially during this heat wave. It has the same effect as the Revolution baked bronzer so it doesn't give your face a flat colour when you apply it. It it also huge so for that size I don't mind spending a little more money on it. It also smells like chocolate I thought you might want to know. Since I can't link the actual bronzer here is Fall Bronzer Blush Duo which is currently only £3.80!! and the current Gold Waves bronzer which is very similar to my one.

The only highlighter I've been reaching for recently is the PS Glow Palette from Primark which is actually bloody amazing and is only £5!! I didn't expect too much from this palette when I bought it but I have been wearing this palette all over my face. I normally only wear highlighter on my cheeks on a day to day basis but with this highlighter I have gone to ham. My favourite shade has to be the bottom right which goes with any makeup look. As my tan has developed I have branched out to the dark top left shade which looks amazing. If you want to see swatches of this palette then head over my New In Primark Makeup post.

Now onto eye palettes I have two which are my favourite to wear during the summer. Starting with the cheaper of the two again I have the W7 In The Nude palette which is a great dupe for the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette but a fraction of the price. I have had this palette since 2016 and two years on I am still living it, especially when it is sunny. It just has a lovely array of pinks and light browns with shimmers mixed in, anything you would need for a cute summer eye look. All the shades are easy to wear which is why I like it so much, you know I am a max two shade kind of eye so these shades all work well together. My favourite combo from this palette is the fourth shade called Marilyn with the eighth shade called Bad Manners on top. The other palette I have been loving this summer is the Naked Heat palette which of course is perfected for summer. Callum bought me this palette for my birthday as he is a keeper so I have this beauty in my collection. I tend to stay down the bottom end of the palette especially at this time but when we get into the winter time I know I will be using that beautiful ashes shade. My favourite combo at the moment from this palette is to place Dirty Talk on top of Low Blow for a brown/red glitter.

Whats your favourite makeup product this summer? I haven't bought anything new in so long!

My Four Favourite Eyeshadow Palettes

I recently decluttered my eyeshadow palettes collection in preparation for the big move ekkk (house tour coming very soon if you are interested?) and by doing so I realised I have four main palettes that I couldn't live without so I decided they deserved a post.

The first palette is the Seventeen Easy On The Eye palette in Birthday Suit, it is such a good size and it includes 12 shadows which makes it great for travelling and creating different looks. It includes 3 cream shades, one cream base and 8 powder shades which all work really well together. I tend to use one of the cream shades as a base and then layer the power shades on top and it lasts all day on me. I find the shades are really easy to blend as they are really buttery so when I have no energy I can still create a good look.

My next palette is the Revolution Salvation Palette in What Are You Waiting For which I have had for a few years now but I love it so much I can't get rid of it. It includes 6 matte shades and 12 shimmer shades which all really compliment each other and you can make quite a few looks with them. I find all Revolution palettes are super pigmented and feel so buttery to apply, you can create looks really quick and easy in a rush in the morning. I especially like that the palette ranges from pale nude shades to a jet black and shimmer black so you really can create any look.

I had to include the cult classic Urban Decay Naked 2 palette in this post because how could I not?! I love using this palette for nights out and party makeup because it always works and the shades are so pretty. I love golden shimmer shades and this palette is full of them which is like heaven to me. This palette also includes a black so if I want to do a smokey eye, I have all I need. Surprisingly as well I really like the brush that comes with the palette, I usually throw away them brushes straight away but I use that brush every time I use that palette, it makes blending so easy.

My last palette is the W7 In The Nude palette which is an amazing dupe for the Naked 3 palette and it has been a favorite of mine for a few years now. It is full of blush tones which work really well in the spring time. It includes 3 matte shades and 9 shimmer shades which again all compliment each other really well and the pigmentation of the palette is on par with the Naked 3 palette if I am being honest.

I don't think you need to splash out loads of money to get a good quality eyeshadow palette as the drugstore has some amazing products, as you can see three out of my four favourite palettes are drugstore.
What palettes would you include in your top four?

January Favourites | 17

It feels crazy to be writing my January Favourites already when it feels like just yesterday I was writing my yearly favourites for 2016. It is scary how fast the first month of this year has gone by but it excites me so much because that means I can move into my new home sooner! Oh yeah I haven't told you that I have been accepted for a mortgage with Cal for our first home! I am beyond excited but anyway on with favourites.

A friend of mine gave me a sample of the Mac's Prep and Prime Skin Base to try this month and I haven't used anything else since trying it. This has become my favourite ever skin primer and it makes me quite sad that my new favourite product is a £23 primer but it is worth it. It leaves my skin super smooth, super healthy and glistening with sparkles which you might think isn't what you want on a day to day basis but it works. It works more like a moisturiser than a primer which is why it works so good everyday.

It is very hard for me to change up my skincare routine as I am a creature of habit but the Lush Gergous Moisturiser has stolen my heart. This again is a little pot Callum got me for Christmas to try out and it become part of my daily routine. A little goes a long way with this moisturiser so even though it is a tiny pot it has lastly me longer than I would have imagined. It leaves my skin quite tacky which makes it great for wearing under makeup to help it last all day, this moisturiser plus the Mac primer is the perfect combo underneath makeup.

A base product that I have been wearing none stop during January is the Bourjois City Radiance Foundation in Vanilla. At first I wasn't a fan of this foundation but it wasn't until I sprayed my beauty sponge with Newlook Fix Makeup Setting Spray that I really started liking the finish of this foundation. This foundation gives me a lovely healthy glow when I wear it which I have fell in love with, I usually go for matte foundation for everyday but this has changed my opinion of dewy/healthy formulas.  It also lasts all day on my skin while I'm at work so its duration is amazing. I also can't use my beauty blender without spraying it with Newlook's Fix Spray as it gives the best finish with all my favourite foundations.

I have been loving the Revolution Ultra Bronzer this month which has been in my stash for years now but I only fell in love with it recently. First of all the pan is huge, this product is going to last me for even more years. Secondly this shade which annoyingly has no name looks good on any skin tone. I can be tanned or as white as a ghost and the colour still suits me.

I've mentioned the Pippa Palette by Blank Canvas Cosmetics before in a post about it here and it is in my favourites for the month too because I have been wearing it non stop. The palette has everything you need in it including a bronzer, blush, highlight and eye shadows. If you want to know more about it then read my post about it here.

My last make up favourites are the Newlook Matte Velvet Lipstick in the shades Toffee Apple and Heather. I have spoken about these before in my Newlook Makeup Haul post and I still love two months later. They don't dry out my lips at all and the colour lasts all day if I don't eat but if I do, they re-apply non patchy and no crust in sight.

I have three random favourites for the month too and the first are my two new harry potter books that I got for Christmas. I read Fantastic Beast and Where To Find Them first and absolutely loved it, I loved the story, the cover, the characters and surprisingly I loved reading it as a screenplay. Couldn't recommend this book enough. I then read Harry Potter and The Cursed Child and I didn't enjoy it as much as the first seven Harry Potter books to be completely honest. Don't hate me hardcore HP fans but I am just a lover of the old school books.

Lastly I have been obsessed with Gossip Girl since Christmas and am currently starting series three. I used to watch it while I was at school but I can't remember half the stuff that actually happened. I know who Gossip Girl is but I'm enjoying going through it all again.

2016 Beauty Top 10

2016 Beauty Top 10

Trying to pick just 10 beauty products that I have loved during last year is always hard because I go in between different products all the time so narrowing them down is hard. I have narrowed it down to 10 picks which I have been head over heels with during the year.

Origins GinZing Moisturiser
I have spoken about this moisturiser many times before and it is a favourite of mine for many reason. I prefer using this moisturiser underneath my makeup rather than any of my other moisturisers as it sinks into my skin so easily I don't feel like I have anything on my skin. It leaves my skin really soft and smooth so applying foundation afterwards is so easy.

L'oreal True Match Foundation
I tried three new foundations in 2016 and this is one of them. I knew this was a blogger favourite so I finally purchased a bottle to try myself and I am so glad that I did. It gives my skin the most amazing finish and gives my skin a boost of life. It covers all my imperfections and lasts all day on my face so its gets a big thumbs up from me. This is the foundation I apply when I am going out for a night out and I want my skin to look a-m-a-zing.

L'Oreal Infallible Matte Foundation
This is the second new foundation I tried in 2016 and again I loved it after trying it. It is such a easy product to wear, I would feel completely confidence applying this foundation in the dark. It gives a really good coverage which can be built up for a evening look and gives my skin a a flawless finish. I never have to worry about my red cheeks peeking through as this foundation lasts all day and doesn't look cakey after a few hours wear.

Revlon Colourstay Foundation
The last foundation I'm going to talk about today is this little beauty. Just like the L'Oreal foundation, I would feel confident applying this foundation in the dark because it always turns out looking great. This is my everyday foundation which I can apply in a rush and know I don't have to worry about my makeup before I leave because it blends into the skin so easily it doesn't look like I am wearing foundation.

Maybelline Mastersculpt Highlight and Contour
I really don't mix up my contour products very much so this contour and highlight duo from Maybelline have been in my makeup bag all year. It is the perfect contour shade for me and is my favourite product for contouring in my whole collection. I do use the contour shade more then the highlighter shade but you can never have enough highlighters in your collection.

2016 Beauty Top 10

NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams
NYX cosmetics have exploded this year and I totally understand why after trying a few of their products. I came a bit late to the party which isn't really a surprise with me anymore but I am so glad that I finally gave into the hype. I currently have three Soft Matte Lip Creams in the shades Abu Dhai, Cannes and San Paulo and I love them all so far. The pigmentation of the lip creams are so good and because the product is so creamy they look amazing on the lips even if you have quite dry lips like me. If you have read my Liquid Lipstick Collection post then you will know that I have purchased these products from NYX, Collection and Bodyshop and I reach for my NYX products why more than the other brands.

Clinique Colour Pop Lipsticks
It will be no shock that I have included these lipsticks in my yearly favourites as I have spoke about these in so many posts this year. The formula of these lipsticks is one of my favourite in my whole collection, the lipsticks are so creamy and moisturising but the pigmentation packs such a good punch which you don't always get with moisturising lip products. The Red and Nude shade have been my go to products for most of the year, I hardly wear the pink shade as I am not very much of a pink girl but I can bear to separate the three.

2016 Beauty Top 10

Maybelline Colour Tattoo // On and On Bronze
Cream Eye Shadows have been one of the main makeup trends of 2016 and I took full advantage of all the new releases snagging some amazing products through the year and my all time favourite cream eye shadow out of them all is the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze. I've spoke about this product in many posts and so many bloggers love this shade as well so I agree with them all in saying it is amazing. When I want a really simple easy makeup look but I still want to look like I have put in some effort, I reach for On and On Bronze. It is a gorgeous golden bronze shade  which is perfect to wear by itself with a nude lip or underneath a powder glitter shade to really pack a punch. I love this product during Christmas time, especially if I finish work at 6 and need to be ready for a Christmas party at half past!

Revolution Salvation Palette // What You Waiting For?
Picking my favourite palette from the whole year was really difficult, really really difficult. I have narrowed it down to one palette that through the year I have pulled out and shown some real love to. The shades in this Salvation palette are absolutely beautiful and you can mix and match with all the shades in the palette to create some lovely looks. My favourite combo is to use Hot Track all over the lid and then place Moving Car over the top and it gives my eyes a beautiful bronze-y shimmer feel. I really need to start using the other shimmer shades more but every time I go to use it, I see Moving Car and immediately wack it on my eye lip because I love it so much.

What were some of your favourite makeup products from the year?

FOTN | Christmas Eve Smokey Eye On My Sister

Christmas Eve Smokey Eye On My Sister

For Christmas Eve I did my sisters makeup for her night out in town (while I stayed at home in my pjs watching Christmas films) and I loved how it turned out so much I've decided to write this post about it.

For her base I used a mix of two Mac Studio Fix foundations in the shades NC15 and C5.5 which create the perfect shade for my sister who as you can see is a few shades darker then me. To make sure her makeup lasted all night I used my Dior Primer which definitely done the trick.

To define her cheek bones I used a mixture of my W7 Honolulu bronzer and my trusty Benefit Hoola bronzer which together created the perfect simple contour, my sister is like me and doesn't go crazy with the contour, we both prefer to bronze ourselves. To bronze on top I used her No7 Perfectly Bronzed Duo Bronzer that I bought her for Christmas a few years ago and an old favourite Revolution Vivid Baked Bronzer in Rock On World

To create the smokey golden eye in the photos I used the brown shade in the Revolution Iconic Pro palette to define her crease and continued using darker brown shades in that palette and the Revolution Affirmation palette until her crease was defined enough and blended equally. I then used the Gold shimmer shade in the Affirmation palette on the inner half of her eye to make the look more party. I then added the L'Oreal Eye shadow in the shade Gold Mania on the inner corner to add a pop of gold to really brighten the eyes.

For my sisters eye brows we used Mac Eye brown pencil in Spiked and because my sister has amazing eye brows anyway I didn't need to do much to them.

Lastly for her lips of course we went for a red lip and I choose Charlotte Tilbury's Red Carpet Red for that night and it worked perfectly. To line her lips I used the Max Factor lip pencil in Red Blush.

Glitter Party Eyes

When I think of eye makeup during winter and the Christmas party season all I think of is glitter, lots and lots of glitter and rich bright golden colours. This is my favourite time of year for makeup as I love the colours and I think they really compliment my complexion and hair colours.  I have a few of my favourite glitter products which get a lot of love during this season and they really don't disappoint.

Starting with the best Urban Decay know how to create party makeup with this palette of brown, taupes and glitters. This includes 8 glitter shades from a silver (Verve) to a mix of golds (Half Baked) to browns (Snakebite) and a taupe (Busted). My all time favorite shade is YDK which is an amazing dark gold with so much glitter packed into it. You could create so many party looks with this palette which makes it a great product to have in your collection. Plus the quality of the eye shadows is beyond amazing.

This is just so so beautiful I had to buy it ready for Christmas, yes it is very bright but the bright the better I say when it comes to golds. Most palettes have a gold shade in but they are never like this gold so I had to put this in my collection. You get a lot o product in the small pot and the quality of the product is great. You could easily use a light hand and use this product as a highlighter as well so it has a dual use.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in 05 Eternal Gold and 70 Metalic Pomegrante
You all know how much I love cream eye shadows and these two shadows are perfect for creating Christmas eyes. Metalic Pomegrante is a gorgeous burgundy glitter shades which you can wear quite sheer for a everyday festive look or you can pack on the product to make more of an impact with the glitter.  The Eternal Gold shade is perfect for highlighting your inner eyes and brow bone and for adding a bit of gold to your lids to make your eyes pop.

Body Shop Shimmer Cubes in 30
I've spoke about these cubes before in previous posts and Christmas is finally the time where I can put these glitter cubes to use. The shades are perfect for making festive holidays looks and adding a bit of glitter everyday.

Revolution Pigment in Dynamic
I am venturing into the world of pigment this year and I am starting with this Revolution pigment. This dark golden pigment in packed full of glitter and will make a great addition to a smokey eye for a festive night out. A little big of this pigment goes a long way and adds a punch to any makeup look,

Summer Time Calls For Highlight!

round up, highlighters, makeup, collection, beauty, revolution, newlook, pure colour, collection, summer, glow, shimmer,

I have a big obsession with highlighters like most beauty bloggers these days and I love talking about them. I have a few posts about highlighters already under my belt including Highlighting on a budget and Shopping my stash | Highlighters  but now it is time to talk about my all time favourite highlighters in my collection.

I'll start with my only pallet in the post, the Collection Contour Kit - Highlight and Sculpt. This is one pallet where I can safely say I make use of both the shades in this kit. The highlighter is so beautiful and super pigmented for the price of £4.19. Unlike some palettes you actually get a generous size of product so it should last my for a long time unless I start going crazy with the highlight.

I have two Revolution highlighter products which I love to pieces and always go back to. I have had the Vivid Baked Highlighter in Peach Lights for nearly a year now and I haven't even hit pan yet which is amazing. I do love powder highlight as I think it tends to last longer and this powder is so pigmented and blends so lovely on the skin and on top of other makeup. I also have it in Pink lights which is beautiful to wear as well and is as pigmented as the peach version.

round up, highlighters, makeup, collection, beauty, revolution, newlook, pure colour, collection, summer, glow, shimmer, I also have The One Highlighter Stick by Revolution which is so so pretty. Although I tend to use powder highlighters more often then stick versions, I do have two favourites in my stash and this is one of them. I find this gorgeous stick is super creamy and doesn't budge my foundation which I find in some sticks, it gives a gorgeous effect to the skin and it reminds me of Nars Copacabana highlighter.

Lastly I have two Newlook Pure Colour highlighters which I love love love. The first is the Baked Highlighter Powder in 93 Gold which I use as a bronzer/highlighter as it is the prefect shade to give a bit of colour to your cheeks as well as some sparkle. The pigmentation of the highlighter is insane and I use this product all the time and still haven't hit pan (I don't actually think I have hit pan on any of my highlighters which makes me happy).

My final product is the Pure Colour highlighter Stick in 93 Gold. Like the Revolution stick, the Newlook stick doesn't budge any of my foundation when I apply it and it is so smooth and creamy when you apply it and again, leaves a beautiful shimmer to the skin. Since this stick is a little bit smaller then the Revolution stick it is perfect to add highlighter to your nose and brow arch, which might be too small for the bigger sticks to fit in.

What are some of your favourite Highlighters?

June Loving

monthly, favourites, june, harry potter, barry m, Revolution, maybeline, Nivea, l'oreal, makeup, lifestyle,

During June I have had a few favourite things that have been making a regularly reappearance. My go to base for the month has been the Nivea Men Post Shaving Balm as my primer and the L'oreal True Match foundation in Vanilla Rose. My skin looks so glowy and fresh when I use both of these products, even when I am having dull skin days these two perk me up and make me look fresh faced and fully rested.

To contour my face I have been dabbing between my Revolution Sculpt and Contour Kit and my Maybelline Master Sculpt in 01 light. These both give a subtle contour on the face and aren't too pigmented when you use a light hand so you don't have to worry about looking too 'drag queen'. Both include a lovely highlighter which is handy to carry around with you when you need a little pick me up during the day.

On my eyes I have been loving the look of the Mac Paint Pot in Blackground as a eyeliner, it gives a subtle line which I can blend out or add more to to make it more prominent. I find this lasts a lot longer than kohl eyeliners on me which is a big bonus.

On my nails I have been loving this Coconut Infusion Barry M nail polish in the shade 612 Flamingo. This is a perfect summer shade on the nails to brighten up any outfit and it lasts a good few days on me considering how long most nail vanishes last.

Lastly through June I have been loving my Polaroid camera which I got for my birthday this year, it is so handy to have to capture special moments and keep them forever. I love the look of the print outs and they look great stuck to the wall. I also got my Harry Potter notebook for my birthday and I love the official school look of the book. It makes me feel like I have actually been to the school so I feel important when I use it, you may call me sad... I use this as my blogging book and its full of so many post ideas!

My Favourite Primers

Primer, Round up, Dior, benefit, Newlook, Revolution, Collection,

A trend that I have really been embracing this year is primers and I have a collection of pretty good products in my stash now. Mainly all drugstore but I do have a special mention for one high end product which I love. I have recently finally purchased the Nivea Mens Post Shaving Balm which I am currently trying out so I wanted to take a look at my beloved old favourites before this product takes over my life.

Revolution Ultra Face Base Primer
I think this was the first ever primer I purchased and and the only silicone formula I have in my collection. I love the finish this gives my skin, it always feels like baby skin after I've used it and it does a great job of keeping my makeup in place all day. I need to repurchase this primer again as I'm nearly running out and I like to have it in my stash to go back to all the time.

Newlook Pure Colour Mattifying Primer
I've spoken about this product before quite a few time most recently on Pure Colour Collection so you will know how much I am fond of this product. It really works at stopping my skin from turning oily or shinny during the day and keeps my makeup up to scratch when I'm running around all day.

Benefit Pore-fessional Primer
This is a blogger classic which over the years I have received lots of samples of so I have never had to fork out on a full size which is helpful! The texture of this product is my favourite out of them all as it so soft and creamy on your skin. I tend to use this when I am going out for the evening or for special occasions.

Lastly I have a special mention for my Dior Pore Mininizer Primer which is my favourite (and only) high end primer. This is so luxurious for a primer and my ultra party primer potion for when I go to very special occasions, this baby isn't getting wasted!

Barcelona Buys + Mac Makeover

Ahh being back from holiday is always bitter sweet. I missed my bed and room like crazy over there but being back at work makes me crave the feel of being in a different country.
I went back to Barcelona with Cal at the beginning of the month which was amazing but I have the holiday blues now I am back at work :(

Anywho I picked up a few goodies over there to try out and I have not been disappointed. I'll start with the first items I bought, a bargain pack of three Clinique lipsticks for £30 at the airport. Considering Clinique lipsticks can range from £16-20 each I think I done well with my purchase. In the pack you get three colours; Sweet Pop, Bare pop and Cherry pop and these are all colours that I would wear so I am really excited to try them.

Clinqiue, Revolution,Mac, Etnia, barcelona, spain, makeover,

Next I ventured into a random Spanish makeup shop and really wanted something to bring back with me so I purchased a lipstick for only 5 euros which is crazy cheap. The make of the product is called Etnia and the brands website is all in Spanish so I can't even tell you anything about them but I will let you know how I get on with it in case I make a try back to Spain for some more!

Lastly in Barcelona I came across a shop very similar to our Superdrug and Boots, which sold Revolution palettes for 4-5 euros. which is amazing! I controlled myself and only picked up two (but I could have walked out with them all). The palettes are Salvation and Iconic Pro which I am so excited about! I already have some favourite shades which I can't wait to use.

Clinqiue, Revolution,Mac, Etnia, barcelona, spain, makeover,

When I came back from holiday I also had a little late birthday surprise present from my sister which was a Mac Makeover in the Debemhams store in Mk. I have always wanted to try out Mac foundation but after a bad experience where a girl matched me wrong and I ended up looking ill and ghost like, I have steered clear of them so this was really exciting for me. I got her to teach me how to do soft smokey eyes and a cute little cat flick, I didn't take any photos of the makeup annoyingly before I went to bed so I can't show you but I would definitely recommend the experience! It costs £30 for the session and then at the end you can take home £30 worth of Mac products which I think is a great deal.

I picked up the foundation she used on me which was the Mac Studio Fix Fluid in NC15 and a Cremesheen Glass Gloss she used on me in the shade Delight. Both I have used everyday since purchasing them tbh! The only annoying thing about them is that the foundation didn't come with a pump, what foundations now a days don't include pumps??

I'm sure most of these products will crop up in a makeup look or favourites post soon so this won't be the last time you see them. I'd love to know what other Mac products you think I should I try out!

My Extravagant Travel Makeup Bag

Travel Makeup Bag

For two days I stayed round my sister's flat while she went away (the lucky thing) and so I thought this was a perfect time to update my Travel Makeup Bag post. Now I have named this my Extravagant make up bag because I know that the contents of this bag is a bit excessive, I blame the size of my makeup bag! Enjoy my Makeup Bag guys!

January Favourites Lush Revolution Sleek Newlook Bodyshop

It is crazy to think that it is the end of January already and I have a few great products to talk to you about today.

Starting with skincare, I have been using the Lush Eau Roma Water Toner no stop since I purchased it this month. I was having a few skin problems at the time when I purchased this and I hoped it would fix my face with its magic and I'm happy to report it actually has. I spray two pumps of this toner onto my hands and then smooth it all over my face. It leaves my skin super soft, moisturised and feeling clean.

Another product I have been using non stop since I purchased it is the Newlook | Pure Contour Palette in the shade Brown Pattern. I saw this palette open on the counter in Newlook and knew the light contour shade would be perfect for me and it was! It is my perfect shade to contour with and has brought the fun back into powder contour. Everyone is commenting on my contour game recently and most people are shocked to know the product in question is by Newlook.

On them days when I'm being really lazy and want a more casual look, I use my trusty Revolution Contour Stick. This is my favourite cream contour shade ever! I have quite a few cream contour sticks in my collection but I always reach for my Revolution stick over all the rest recently!

My next favourite is a new lipstick of mine by the Bodyshop which I have reached for most days since Christmas. This was one of my Christmas presents from my sister and it is a perfect shade for me. I have never owned a Bodyshop lipstick before now and since trying this product, I want to expand my collection. The formulation is so creamy and moisturising on my lips, they leave my lips healthy even when they are having a dry day.

Lastly I have a product which has become a staple in my makeup bag this month. The Lethal Length Mascara by Sleek is great for big individual leashes. This is the only mascara I have been using on a day to day basis this month and if I do go out anywhere fancy or want to make more of an effort, I can up my mascara game but going over my lashes again with the mascara to add even more volume.

The Best Of 2015 | Make up

The best of makeup 2015, 2016, Benefit., clinque, collection, favourites, L'Oreal, Lord and berry, mua, Newlook, revolution, W7, Yearly,

2015 has been my year to experiment with makeup and I have enjoyed every moment of it. I have quite a few favoruites that I go back in between so narrowing it down to one was quite difficult. I have cheated once and picked two products.

My Favourite Primer of all time is the Revolution Ultra Face Base Primer. It is the best budget primer I have used yet and it leaves my skin so super soft I feel like a new born baby! -Yes it is that soft!

My favourite foundation of the year is the L'oreal Infallible 24 hour Matte foundation, I can never go wrong with this foundation. It covers all my redness on my cheeks but never looks cakey on the face. It is very light weight but still has great coverage.

My favourite concealer is the standard Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. I have spoke about this concealer numerous times and it has never left my make up bag, it covers anything and lasts all day.

I have two bronzers on this list that I couldn't pick between because they do two very different things. The Benefit Hoola Bronzer is a all round perfect summer product that suits my skin tone really well and gives me a great summer glow. My other product is the Clinque Chubby Sculpting Stick which I love to use on comfy or no make up days to give my face some definition. It is also a great contour product for nights out.

My favourite blush product from the year has to be The W7 Honey Queen Homecomb Blush. I am not the biggest blush fan but when I do wear a little I like to wear this mix of blush colours together on the apples of my cheeks. It is more of a darker blush so it doesn't look too much on my face.

I have become a much bigger fan of highlighter this year and I have quite a few that I go in between which are both powder and cream. The highlighter that I have been reaching for the most these past few weeks is the Newlook Baked Highlighter in 93 Gold. This is the perfect cross between a bronzey glow look which I have been opting for quite a lot lately.

My favourite eyebrow product has to be the MUA Power Brow Highlight and Shape. It is so easy to use and you can't go wrong with it. The brow nib is the perfect shade for my hair and the highlighter is a great add on to define your brows.

My favourite eye palette has to be the first palette I bought this year, the Revolution Redemption Essentials Matte 2 Palette. This year has been my year to discover the wonders of eye shadows, before this year I had never touched a eye shadow and now I buy a new one every month (much to Cal's dismay). The Revolution palette is my favorite because it has everything you need to do a simple day look or a ramped up night look. I particularly like to use this palette for smokey eye looks.

I haven't worn much eyeliner this year as I prefer the look of mascara by itself as it looks softer and more wearable, but on them days or nights were I have wanted to go a bit more bolder I have used the Lord + Berry Kohl liner. It is really easy to use and great to smudge out to create a bolder effect.

My favourite mascara of the year is the L'oreal Volume Million Lashes, my mascara collection has grown considerable this year but when I want to use something I know for sure will work, I pick this mascara. It is really good at separating lashes and opening out your eyes.

I found it really hard to choose a favourite lip product but in the end my love of Newlook nude lips trumped all my other lipsticks. My all time favourite nude lipstick of the brand is the Camel shade. I wrote a whole blog post all about the lipstick which you can read here.

You can read my post from last year here. Comment below with links to your end of year favourite posts, I love reading them for future reference when i'm next make up shopping!

Revolution Affirmation Palette

Makeup, Revolution, Redemption, Affirmation, Palette, Eye Shadow,

I mentioned in my October Loves Post that I had started wearing eye shadows for the very first time. This may sound strange since I have been wearing make up for god knows how many years but before then I had never wore eye shadow before, mainly because I didn't think that they suited my face and I didn't know how to apply them properly.

Makeup, Revolution, Redemption, Affirmation, Palette, Eye Shadow,

Since then I have watched loads of YouTube tutorials and Get Ready With Me's so I think I definitely have a good idea of how to do some basic looks on myself. I have also invested in some palettes thanks to Make Up Revolution which are amazing. The first palette the Redemption Essential Mattes 2 Palette I have spoke about in my October Favourites post which you can have a read of here.

Makeup, Revolution, Redemption, Affirmation, Palette, Eye Shadow,

The second palette the Affirmation Ultra Eyeshadows Palette is my second eye purchase and definitely my favourite out of the two. Although I love the Redemption palette for its list of nudes to choose from, the Affirmation palette has more shades to choose from (32 to be exact) as well as 12 shimmer shades to make some really pretty looks with. A favorite shade of mine to use is the Disclose shade to draw a little flick on my eye lid. I like to use eye shadow to draw wings as it looks much more subtle and is less hard to mess up. I also love the two shimmer shades Accept and Oath which I can't wait to use to create some Christmas make up.

Makeup, Revolution, Redemption, Affirmation, Palette, Eye Shadow,

I love the packaging of this eye shadow palette as you get this huge mirror to use which is perfect for taking with you when you travel anywhere, plus it is also nice to look at with its sleek black case. For just £8 the palette is an absolute bargain for all these gorgeous shades. Its currently out of stock online but I have seen some in Superdrug stores so if you want to try this palette have a good hunt round the shops!

I might write some posts on make up looks I make with this palette if that is something you would want to see, let me know and I'll plan some for you!

3 Autumn Reds

Autumn, Lips, Red, Avon, Chilli, Rimmel, 22, Revolution, who we are, comparison, fairy lights

As much as Callum hates it when I wear bright colors on my lips, I love a bold lip. My signature colour is red, mainly because I am too un-adventurous to experiment with more brighter or bolder colours! So since Autumn is now upon us I thought I would take you through my three favourite red shades, the shades I tend to reach for the most.

Avon Chilli
I loooove this shade for many reasons. The formula is really moisturising and I feel like it acts like a balm while on my lips too which is great for someone like me who has bitty lips. The shade is a gorgeous dark dirty red and it is so easy to wear which my skin tone. It isn't the longest lasting lipsticks mainly because it is so moisturising on the lips but I still like the wear it and don't mind re-applying it.  It also have Avon indented in the lipstick which I think is a great touch.

Rimmel 22
Everyone loves Rimmel lipsticks for many different reasons and I love this red Rimmel shade in number 22, It is red shade with a twinge of pink to it and this comes through when you apply it to your lips. It isn't a matte formula but does apply matte like on my lips which I like. It is super long lasting -come on it is Rimmel- and applies really smooth. It is quite a bold look so I tend to sport this look when I am going out for the evening and plan to dress up. It definitely isn't a shade you pop on to nip down the shops...

Revolution Who We Are
This red shade is a fairly new addition to my red lipstick collection and out of all three lipsticks, it is the truest shade of red. When you think of bog standard red lipsticks with no other twinges to it, this is the shade you would think of, a classic red we'll call it. It is less bold then the Rimmel 22 and might lighter then the Avon Chilli but a firm favourite when I want to channel my inner Taylor Swift. It applies really smoothly and is nourishing on my lips which helps hold the colour. It lasts a fairly long time if your not eating or drinking, like most high street lipsticks.

This is just a needle worth of my red lipsticks because I am a bit of a horder, if you would like to see my full red lips collection then let me know, you might be hear for a while!

Highlighting on a budget

Budget, Highlighter, Kiko, Newlook, revolution,

I enjoyed writing my Bronzing On A Budget post so much last month that I have turned it into a series and followed it on with this Highlighting on a budget post! You are welcome...

I have four budget highlighters to show you today and I'll start with my favourite two. They are by Makeup Revolution and are so so amazing! I have the Vivid Baked Highlighter in Peach lights and the same in Pink lights. Pink lights is definitely more pigmented and vibrate whereas the Peach lights is more subtle and natural. Although powder highlighter isn't my favourite I do love using these two as they work really well at lasting all day and add a lovely glow to your cheeks during nights out. These powders do have the power to make you look like a shinny glitter ball is you go over board with the highlighter so having a light hand is a must.

My second highlighter is by Newlook and I have mentioned it before on my blog. It is the shade 93 gold and is great at using on the cheek bones. I prefer the effect this stick gives my skin during the day as it is much more natural and effortless then the powder highlighters which can look too much during the day. I like to pop this on my cheek bones and on my phones over my foundation but I plan on trying it under my foundation as well as I think it might give my foundation an added feature. The formula of the highlighter is really creamy so it is really easy to blend and move around the face once you have swiped a line.

The last highlighter I am mentioning is the Kiko Makeup highlighter pencil from their contouring pencil set. This is very similar to the Newlook highlighter stick apart from it isn't as creamy as the Newlook one and it has a more pointed end so it is easier to apply your highlighter more precisely. Again this stick is perfect for during the day when you want to add a little shine to your face and dont want your face to look like a glitter ball.

Let me know what your favourite budget highlighters are!
