N U D E S

You all know I am the biggest fan of Nude shades but I think most people are now aren't they? I live in Nude shades on a day to day basis and I wanted to take you through my favourite nude shades to throw in my bag.

The first nude I want to talk about is the Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lip Colour which I didn't photograph as it was in my makeup as you saw from my last post. It is so easy to keep in my hang bag and throw on when my lips are dry or I want to add a bit of colour during the day. I find it leaves my lips feeling looked after instead of dried out which is why I love it.

Next I have some nude pencils which I love to go between and the first pencil will be no surprise to any of you. I have talked about the Newlook Matte Pencils many times before and out of all the shades I own the nude shade is my favourite. I'm not too sure if this shade is still available to buy since I bought it quite a while ago but if you can you need to get it! The shade name is toffee Apple and if this shade isn't still available then I hope there is a similar shade!

The next pencil is the Kiko Lip Gloss Pencil in the shade number 10 and this is completely different to the Newlook pencil as it is a lip gloss so leaves a nice shine on the lips and is really easy to wear and apply throughout the day. I really like Kiko lip products and this pencil makes me want to try more products from the brand.

The last pencil I have is the Maybelline Intense Velvet Lip Crayon in the shade 630 which is such a good lip pencil and a really rich nude shade which looks really nice on the lips. All three lip pencils aren't too different if I am completely honest but it is nice to mix up which lip product I use.

Moving away from pencils two nude NYX lip products which are probably my two favourite products out of all the ones I am mentioning. I have the NYX Lip Cream in the shade Abu Dhabi which I tried first from NYX and fell in love with. The colour is super rich with two coats and when I want the over draw nude lip look this is the product I go for. I tend to draw round my lips with a lip pencil first and then pop this lip cream on top and it doesn't dry my lips out and gives me big full lips.

Lip Loving | My 5 favourite Lipsticks

Most people would associate summer time with bright lip colours and daring shades. Then there is me, who wears the same shade of lipstick everyday from 5 different brands, I am a creature of habit. My current favourite shade is this soft nudey brown, which is not much different than my normal lip colour but better. I have quite a few different shades of this colour which I go between a lot of the time and I love them all equally as they are my favourite formula (which is moisturising and glossy for the record)

Even though I love all these lipsticks more or less equally, I do have one which I wear the most out of all of these 5 lipsticks and that  is my Bodyshop lipstick. Sadly I can't find this style or shade anywhere on the website and the tube doesn't have a name or shade number which is really annoying. Anyway I love this lipstick because it is so moisturising on my lips, it reminds me more of a lip balm than a lipstick but unlike a lip balm, the colour consistency is amazing. I usually first put the lipstick on first thing before I leave the house and then once after I have had my lunch at work and it lasts the rest of the time no problem. It keeps my lips hydrated and plumped all through the day and it doesn't dry out my lips after a few hours which I love.

Then I have my Clinique Pop Lip Colour in 02 Bare Pop which is pretty dreamy and a beautiful shade. Just like the Bodyshop Lipstick, the Clinique lipstick is super moisturizing on the lips and gives a great colour pay off considering how moisturizing it is. I got this in a pack of three shades and this definitely the shade I reach for the most as it is so easy to wear and goes with any makeup look.

Rimmel lipsticks are one of my favourite as you can't go wrong with the brand, the pigmentation of their lipsticks are amazing, the shade ranges are brilliant and you can get any shade in any formula in the range. I have three currently that I always pick up and they are the Moisture Renew in 220 Heather Shimmer, Moisture Renew Sheer and Shine in 400 Good Mauve and Lasting Finish Lipstick in 066 Heather Shimmer. Now although I have two lipsticks with the same name they are slightly different as you can see on the swatches so I haven't wasted my money. I love these lipsticks because they keep my dry lips moisturised and the colour pay off is amazing as you can see in the photo below.

My last lipstick which is becoming a new favourite after I had forgotten about it for a while... is the Elf Mineral lipstick in the shade Beautiful Berry. This is my favourite product I have tried from Elf and for the price tag the lipstick is great quality and a beautiful colour, as the name suggests. I have just found out is has been discontinued which I am so sad about.

Black Friday Elf Purchases

Working in retail usually means I have to work major holidays and events and Black Friday was definitely a big event this year. You couldn't go anywhere without seeing posters and adverts for it. I worked most of Black Friday Weekend so could only look for bargains online. I had a good look through the Elf website and found some little goodies.

I didn't expect to buy much to be honest but they had an offer where if you spent over £20 you got a free gift which was a make up set bundle and free delivery so I couldn't resist.

The first item I picked myself was the 32 piece eye shadow palette which is so dreamy. It includes 3 matte shades and 28 shimmer shades from beautiful nudes to dark browns and blacks. I can't wait to try this out I'm a big fan of all the shimmer brown shades plus the different shades of black are going to be great for smokey eyes. I also like the more stand out colours so hopefully I can create some great make up looks with them.

The next item I purchased was the Warm Studio Bronzers which screams Nars to me. The packaging is a direct copy of the Nars packaging and I love it. It includes a contour shade, a bronzer, a highlighter and a blush and I choose the Warm shade so it came with a blush that I could use as a bronzer. They all have a slight shimmer to them and again I can't wait to try this out. I think it will be perfect to carry in my handbag on the go.

The next few items where included in the free set I got. The first is a blush brush which is so so soft! The second is this blush in the shade Mellow Mauve and it is what I would call a bronzer blush because it is warm toned and can be used a bronzer. The next item is this Baked Eye Shadow in Toasted which is beautiful and very wintery/christmasy. I love ELF's baked blushes so I know I am going to love this eye shadow. Next is this Mineral Lipstick in Beautiful Berry which is a really nice autumn shade. Last are two eye products, the Expert Liquid Liner and the 3in1 Lengthen, Define and Volumize mascara.

I'm really excited to try out all of these products as ELF is a brand I haven't had a bad product from yet. You might see some of these products creep into my future favourites posts.

Pure Lips #2

pure, lips, newlook, lipstick, review, makeup,

Newlook have done it again with even more beautiful shades in their reformulated lip stick collection. Since my last post I have purchased another 6 shades plus two lip crayons from their collection.

I love Newlook lip sticks because they are so creamy and rich, the colour lasts a long time on your lips and for me, they don't leave my lips flakey or dry like some lipsticks. They also come in such a wide range of colours so no matter what you are into, there is a shade for you.

pure, lips, newlook, lipstick, review, makeup,

My first shade is this gorgeous dark nude shade called Camel which I have worn non stop since I bought it. It is a more darker browner nude shade then the previous two that I purchased and its my favourite out of all of them. I have been wearing this shade during the day at work while I am wearing big eye make up. Strawberry is an amazing bright red shade which is more on the pink side. I haven't had an opportunity to try out this shade yet but I know it will be perfect for the summer time with rosy cheeks. Magenta is a fushia pink shade which I have had my eye on for some time and then it went into the sale for £2 so I couldn't resist a cheeky purchase. Again I haven't tried out this shade yet because I am too obsessed with dark eye shadows but I can't wait to give it a whirl. Mid Pink is a darker fushia shade which has become a favourite of mine lately. Its darker then the Magenta shade but not so dark that you can't wear a smokey eye with it. Bright pink is my most adventurous shade that I purchased and I did purchase it on a bit of a whim but it is so beautiful. It is a typical barbie pink shade. My last lip shade is this lovely dark red shade with a hint of plum in it called Burgandy. I love this shade with minimal make up and the shade really suits my skin tone.

pure, lips, newlook, lipstick, review, makeup,

I recently picked up two lip crayons too in the shade Camel and Plum. The colour pay off for these crayons are really good compared to other lip crayons I have purchased. The crayons are moisturing on the lips and the colour lasts for most of the day on me. The Camel lip crayon is very similar to the Camel lipstick but a little bit more creamier and moisturing and the Plum crayon is a super wearable dark plum shade.

If you have never tried the Newlook makeup range I would strongly recommend you try at least one lip product from them. I usually pick these lip shades over all my other lip products so they are definitely worth a try in my opinion,

Rimmel lips | Nude edition

I know I am a little late to the party... But I finally have some nude shades in my collection! Before I have not seen the need for a nude lipstick as my collection was already full to the brim with bright shades and to be perfectly honest I did think why would I need a colour that you couldn't tell that I was wearing.

And then I found my perfect nude shade, this Rimmel Lasting Finish lipstick in shade 206 Nude Pink is definitely my kind of nude colour.  It is a peachy nude shade which moisturises my lips while I am wearing it so I never have to fear that my lips will dry up while I'm wearing it (we've all been there when your lips go dry and your lipstick colour is in chunks in the corner of your lips... Not attractive at all!)

Like most pale shades of lipstick I find that this nude doesn't last more than an hour or so on my lips but I wasn't expecting it too if I am honest. I have quite big bright lips so pale colours never seem to last long on them as my natural lip colour wins the fight you could say. This colour is really easy to wear and I have been turning to it a lot recently for a more natural lip look during the day.

My second nude shade I have recently bought is a product that I have been lusting after for ages. I already had a Rimmel Apocalips in a bright pink shade which I love but found it is just too bright to wear a lot of the time so finally I picked up the nude shade of 328. This is a more orange shade of nude then the classic and at first I found it unflattering on my skin but I have really grown to love it now, it definitely looks nicer after a few minutes when it has had time to soak in.

It is very easy to apply too much of this product and make it look cakey but if you use a light hand then the colour will look fine on you. You can't fault these Apocalips for there staying power as whichever colour I use always lasts a long time on my lips.

Since I'm late to the party, what shades of nude do you lovelies rate the most? :)

Favourite Dark Lip | Revolution

I don't know what it is about dark lip shades in 2014 but everyone seems to be loving them. I have been a bit late to the partly as I choose to hide away from dark shades, fearing they would make me look gothic but I took the plunge recently and this is my favourite dark colour of the moment.

It is from the Lip Hug range at Revolution, who I feel I am always talking about now but after I went on a big shopping spree on the website and found that I loved all the products I got, it would be silly not to show them to you all.

The shade is call Still Missing My Baby and it is a really nice dark berry/browny colour which actually suits my skin tone really well, well I think so. I find it really easy to wear and have wore it so many times already this December.

The formation of the lip stick is really moisturing and the colour glides on my lips really easily. Like any other lipstick I do have to top it up after a few hours of non stop talking but that I can live with.

I love the packaging of this lipstick, the sleek black case is easy to slot in my bag ready for the day ahead and it does looks prettier than my other lipsticks in my lipstick holder (forgive me maybelline colour burst ...)

These lip hugs are definitely something that I would repurchase in other shades so watch this space!

January Top 5: Make-up

I'm going to jump on the bandwagon and start writing monthly favourite posts every month (obviously haha) on items that I have been loving that month. So I don't write a massive blog post that might get a bit tedious, I'm going to group the favourites into separate blogs: Make up, Skincare and Hair care and Random.
So lets just jump into it... these are the 5 make up items that I have be loving this January :)

Revlon Photo Ready Crème blush in 300 Coral Reef
I've never been a fan of crème blushes until I tried this Revlon one. It's a great colour on my skin and looks really natural, which I found other crème blushes don't. This product has changed my opinion on crème blushes so I'm kind of excited to try some other ones, any recommendations?

Collection 2000 Extreme Coloured Lengthening Mascara in Blue2
I like to mix up my make-up some days and wear this bright blue mascara on my lashes. If I wake up in a summery mood, I wear this with some bright coloured clothes and pretend its the middle of the summer (I'm counting down the days till I can go outside without wearing a coat) This mascara isn't too in your face because in some lights, it does just look like normal black mascara.

Rimmel Scandaleyes waterproof eye pencil in 004Taupe
I love this eye pencil on my bottom lid as it opens up my eyes without making my eyes look too heavy which black eyeliner can do. Plus it looks nice on my top lid with a little mascara for these casual days.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in 086 Sugarplum
This lipstick is in my January favourites basically because I can't get enough of this colour and it smells like sweets, what could be better!

Lumiere Lipgloss set
My sister got me this lip-gloss set from Boots for Christmas and they have become my favourite lip glosses ever. The shades are really nice and wearable during the day and they don't dry out my lips like other lip glosses. I've tried to find them on the Boots website but they seem to have been taken off, but they should come back out again next Christmas.

And that's basically it, short and sweet just like me :)
