Three Make Up Removers For Every Kind Of Mood

There are so many different products today to remove makeup that it can be a little confusing when your on the lookout for a new product to try. I have three sure fire products that work great to remove my makeup and are all completely different for the different moods i'm in.

Make up removers garnier micellar water simple cleansing wipes lush ultrabland facial cleanser

The All Rounder - Lush Ultrabland Cleanser
This cleanser is amazing at melting your makeup off, the best make up remover I have every used hands down. It doesn't irritate your skin or even your eyes so it is the dream. The pot lasts for ages considering how often I have used it so it ticks all the boxes for me. I wish I had the energy and time to use this every night but sometimes I do take the easy way out...

The Lazy One - Simple Kind To Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes
Everyone uses this option after a night out or a late night because its just so easy to get it done in a few seconds and it still removes all your makeup in one go. I boycotted facials wipes for years after I heard people saying that they were really bad for your skin and look at me now, I keep a pack on my side in case I can't be bothered to go to the bathroom to remove my make up (bad I know...)

The Other One - Garnier Micellar Water
We all have that one product that we only reach for if we run out of our favourite product. Mine is this micellar water which does the job perfectly but isn't as good as the Lush Cleanser or as easy as the Simple Facial Wipes. Sometimes when I want a change I will whip out this product so that I don't get bored of using the same product.

My Simple Everyday Make up Routine

Simple everyday makeup bourjois rimmle l'oreal revolution w7
My bright idea to take photos in the garden while the weather is amazing back fired just a little. At least you can recognise the packaging. :)

I have been very un-adventurous with my make up recently thanks to a few factors (the main one being I am enjoying a few extra minutes in bed) and so I have noticed a few products that I have been reaching for without fail during the last few weeks. This make up look is very simple, quick and easy to do which is why I have been using this routine so frequently.

For my base I have been mixing between two different products, my Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation in Ivory or Soft Beige depending on whether I have fake tanned and my Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream in Ivory. No matter what my skin is doing in the morning these products always work for me and give me a nice even base. For concealer I use my trusty Collection Lasting Perfection in the shades Fair or Cool Medium (depending on my base shade).

For my cheeks I have been loving two products that I am sure I have spoke about before because I love them so much. My W7 Chunky Bronzer is a god send! The perfect shade to bronze my cheeks and fore head and so easy to apply that I'm done in a few seconds. The second is my Revolution Vivid Baked Bronzer in Golden Days which is a gorgeous shade and looks really natural on the skin.

For my eyes I have three products that keep me looking awake on a daily basis. I use my Mac eye kohl liner in shade Teddy to open up my eyes and then I use my favourite eye lash curlers to curl my stupidly straight lashes. If I still need something to make my eye pop I use my L'oreal waterproof Volume Million Lashes and then my make up is done.

Love Heart Holders

I am always on the hunt for a bargain whether it be clothing, make up or home stuff. There is one shop that I know I will always find something I love in and that is B&M. I have bought loads of bits for my bedroom there and have bought loads of great presents for people.

On my last trip in there I found these love heart tin holders in different colours, all for 99p each! I couldn't quite believe it, they are so cute. I think they can either be using inside the house to hold stuff in or even in the garden to put flowers in. I currently have two of mine as make up brush holders and one as a hair brush holder.

I think they are great value and super cute to keep stuff in. I even bought my sister a set for her birthday because I know like me, she likes to collect make up brushes and these are perfect brush holders.

If you have never visited a B&M store I would definitely recommend that you visit your local store very soon! They are so good for finding cute home bits for such good prices. When I finally move out(turn wood) I am planning on making a dent in that store!

Make Up Revolution Protection Palette

Shock I've bought another Make Up Revolution product! I think I do have some sort of obsession, I'm sure Make Up Revolution aren't complaining!

This purchase I have Rachel Coco to blame for, she wrote a great post here on the product and that was enough for me to go on the website and buy it. I have been looking for a nice contour palette that would actually suit my skin tone and that I could use everyday. I previously bought the sleek contour palette in medium and at first I loved it, but then winter came and I never used it because it was way too dark for my pale skin no matter how little I put on and how much I blended it out, that number now lives in my more tanned sisters make up bag.

So I was really excited to try this palette that I purchased in light. I was really excited to have it because it had everything in it that I would need. The only thing I haven't used in the palette yet are the concealers and that Is because I am too stuck in my ways with my beloved concealer palette that I have had for ages now and swear by. Apart from them all the other sections have been tried and tested.

Powder
I really like the powder I think it sets the contour and blush really well. One thing I did find was that when I used it on my concealer and I then went outside in the cold, my eyes started watering and then when I got home I noticed crusty bits under my eyes where the powder had mixed with my tears, which wasn't a nice looking thing. So I have learnt my lesson and since then I haven't used it to set my concealer.

Contour
The contour is the perfect shade for me, I use my Real Techniques setting brush to draw a line of contour powder across my check bones and then use my Real Techniques multi task brush to blend it out and make it look more natural on my check bones. So far I have never put so much on that I haven't been able to blend it out naturally, so there is no chance of me looking like a drag queen using this!

Blush
The blush is a very natural pink shade that looks nice and natural next to the contour. I tend to draw a line of this blush directly above my contour line and then blend really well in together. I find all of Make Up Revolutions blushes are of high quality and this one is no exception.

Highlight
This is possible my favourite out of the whole palette, the dreamy highlight. It is a lovely pale pink glittery shade which looks great on the top of cheek bones and doesn't make me look shiny or like a Disney fairy.

This is a great all round product and for only £6 you get so much in one palette. I used this on my sister and she absolutely loved it so I have bought her one for her birthday so I am spreading the word!

Revolution Makeup Fluid Blushes

I think I have found my soul mates with these blushes... Okay that may be a little over dramatic but I stand by what I say. I have already posted about the Matte Foundation by Revolution Makeup that I purchased recently and these blushes are my second loves from the brand.

To be honest I went straight on the website and purchased these after reading a certain post about them *link* and I am so glad that I did.

I love the idea of liquid blushes but I have been scared off by other brands. I have a Elf liquid blush that is quite thick and hard to work in so I tend to have big pink patches on my cheeks. The great thing about these blushes are that they are a good consistence so they are really easy to work in, I can dab the top on my hand quite a few times and never have to wash away excuse off my hands
The colour is really subtle on my skin so I never have to worry about looking like a drag queen and I can build the blush up if I wanted.
The blush also leaves me with a healthy glow which I never find with power or crème blushes. I currently have two shades, Pink Dew and Pink Sea and love them both with Pink Dew as my favourite as it works similar to a liquid highlighter- do they even make them?!

These are my number one blushes to use at the moment and if you have these yourself then you know why. If any of you have these blushes tell me what you think! :) xx

Halloween Inspiration | How To | Saw Make Up and Outfit

So today is the 31st of October which means today is Halloween! I love holidays like this because there are always decorations up everywhere and people really get into the spirit and it gives people an excuse to dress up.

Now this Halloween I am actually not dressing up just because my only option of going out is to go into town and I am not doing that in fancy dress! So anyway this evening (or now depending when I put this up) I am going to the cinema with my boyfriend to watch Ouja, hopefully I wont poo my pants in the cinema...

Since I'm not dressing up this year and I didn't have this blog back then I thought I'd show you guys what I dressed up as last year for a Halloween party. I went as the puppet Saw from the gruesome Saw films which are my favourite! I had the help of my sister and her two friends to get me looking creepy. I had work till 6 that night so it was a bit of a rush to get ready in time for the party but we did it.

I bought white face paint to cover my whole face in, black eye shadow to put all around my eyes, I used a bright red lipstick I already had, a red cream blush to draw on my circles on my cheeks and lastly used a black pencil eye liner to draw on my dummy jaw lines.

The funny thing was my over exaggerated eyebrows look like some girls eye brows normally!

For my hair I backed combed the top of it to get it hold for the whole night (which it did) and curled the hair at the bottom. I tried to make it quite messy so that I wouldn't look to 'put together'

For my outfit I bought a fitted white shirt from Newlook to put under my fitted black blazer from there and wore them with my black disco pants from you guessed it... Newlook. I ordered a red dicky bow off eBay which was a bargain!
And my Saw look was complete!

Here are two photo from the party where I still look quite decent haha the first one is of me and a Micky Mouse garden ornament because why not... and the second is of me and my favourite clown Joseph <3

Revlon photo ready crème blush | 300 Coral reef

Hello lovelies!

I have a review on a Revlon blush product for you guys which has been in at least one of my monthly favourites and a few other make up tag posts in recent months. I'm going to be talking about the Revlon photo ready crème blush in the shade 300 coral reef.

I'm going to start off by saying this is my first crème blush product (aside from a really old product I had when I was little from a Sabrina the teenage witch magazine) and so when I purchased this late last year for a Halloween make up idea, I didn't know what to expect from it and to be completely honest I didn't know how to use it.

The shade is actually perfect for my skin tone I think, it looks really red in the pot and if you use too much on your cheeks, then you will end up with bright red cheeks but if you know how much to use on your face, it can look really nice and natural and healthy. It gives me a really nice healthy glow to my cheeks which I love.

After a lot of practice I now know the trick to applying it, after countless tries where I ended up looking like a china doll! The product is super pigmented so you only need a little bit of product on your fingers to make it work on your cheeks. I know it may be unhygienic to use my fingers but I find that it works best for me so I just keep doing it haha.

I put a little bit onto my fingers and then do a duck face as you do... I rub the product on to my cheeks in a circular motion and make sure that I really rub it in so it is all even. Most of the time I will then use my flat top blush brush to blend it out even more just to make sure it looks all natural.

It looks really nice by itself on 'no make up days' and it also works really well with other blush products which are a bit darker to make more of a statement for a night out.

I find that this lasts longer than any other powder blush product that I own even when I've been at work all day it stays put until the end, I would say it has converted me to crème blushes and I never thought I would have said that.

This is a product that I would definitely repurchase and I am excited to try the different shades in the range, have any of you tried it? What are your thoughts? :)

My travel make up bag

I'm currently spending the week round my sisters flat while she is on holiday. When i was packing a bag to come here it dawned on me that i wouldn't have all my products at hand and i would have to pick certain products to take with me.
Luckily for me I have some make up products that i always use and i swear by so filling my makeup bag wasn't hard.

For concealers I bought the two that i always use day to day. I use my Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair 1 underneath my eyes and on my nose. Then I'll use my Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer on any red or off colour skin before i put foundation on. If i have any little spots i will use this concealer on top to hide the little buggers.

For foundations i bought my two favorite ones at the moment that always leave my skin looking good and arent too heavy on my skin. My favourite out of the two is the Rimmel Match Perfection Smart Tone Technology in 230 Warm Ivory. This is a repurchase i made recently because the first ever foundation i bought was the same brand but in just Ivory. It is too light for me to use now so i needed to update a shade. The second is my Maybelline Superstay 24 hours in 010 Ivory. This is great when im having a bad skin day and i want a little more coverage. Read my review post on this (here)

For powders i bought the two that i use everyday without fail as they work perfectly for me. I'll cover my whole face with the Collection 2000 Pressed Powder in 02 Tendertouch to set my makeup. I'll then use my Miss Sporty So Matte Perfect Stay Pressed Powder in 002 Medium on my cheek bones and my temples to define them.

For my cheeks i bought my two Elf cosmetics blushers that i am in love with! The All Over Stick in 3101 Pink Lemonade and the Baked Blush in Cheeky Peachy. I wont say too much about these as i have already reviewed the All over stick (here) and the Baked Blush (here). All you need to know is they both look great on the skin and are perfect for the spring time.

For my eyes I bought my trusty Elf Mineral Eye Liner which is great at making my eyes really stand out and is really easy to blend out. For mascara i bought the Maybelline Rocket Volume Express mascara  as it is perfect for everyday use and can be built up for the evening.

For my lips i have 4 lipsticks that work for me no matter what I'm wearing and where I'm going. The first is a lipstick i actually found on eBay. It may sound wear buying makeup off of eBay but it is brand new and really cheap. The make I like is Laval Classic and the shade is Mystic Pink. Now the shade names aren't really suitable for the shades that they actually are but as long as you look at the photos before you buy any then you'll know what your getting. I love this lipstick, it applies well, lasts a long time and doesn't dry out my lips when I'm wearing it. For £1 something they are definitely worth a look! (here)

The next lipstick is the Revlon Colourburst Lip butter in 063 Wild Watermelon which is a gorgeous red shade which isnt too bold to look too much on a day to day basis. These lip butters are so nourishing on my lips, they feel like lip balms.

The next lipstick is the Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in shade 086 Sugarplum. Its great to add a pop of colour to a dull outfit.

The last lipstick is probably my favourite out of all of them. Its a Avon lipstick in the shade is Rosey Gold. It is a lovely colour that looks great on the lips because of the shimmer it has to it. Again it is really moisturising on the lips so feels great on.

And there you go my Travel Make Up Bag is complete. Look out for my Travel Shower Bag post coming up soon! xx

March Favourites '14

March has been a bit of a off month for me. I was terribly ill for over a week with tonsillitis (which I have never had before and didn't know you could feel so bad just from sore tonsils) and then it was my Birthday on the 2nd of April so my blog has been at the back of my mind for a while. Luckily I had a few saved posts all ready to publish while I was ill other wise I wouldn't have posted anything for a good while.

Anyway I am all better now after taking some antibiotics and I've finished my birthday celebrations so its back to the real world for me (well on Wednesday it is, I still have two days off of work yay!)  I thought I wouldn't have many makeup products to talk about in this months favourites because I was feeling ill and down for half of the month but when I actually looked in my makeup draw, I realised I was picking up quite a few products and thinking *hey I've used this loads this month actually* so prepare yourself for a good handful of makeup products and some random bits and bobs! :)

The first two products I'm going to talk about are what I've been loving using in the shower this month. The first is the Boots Natural Collection Mango & Papaya body scrub. This scrub smells absolutely amazing! I'm surprised I have never mentioned this scrub before as I have had it for a month of so now but it was only this month that I really got into using it and I'm going through the bottle at a pace because I love it so much. This is the perfect scrub to use in the morning because the fruity smell really wakes you up and the scrub works really well at removing dead cells on your skin.

The second shower product I've been loving is the Soap & Glory Clean On Me shower gel. This shower wash is sooooo creamy, my skin always feels so smooth after I use it. All you need is a little product and it lathers up so much you can do your whole body with the little amount. I am using this small bottle I got in a set for Christmas but I have bought the normal size big bottle which I cant wait to use!

Now the first makeup item I've been loving this month I have already written a blog post (here) about it so I wont say too much but all you need to know is that I love Rimmel's Stay Matte liquid moose foundation, it is so easy to wear and really works for my skin.

My second makeup product is the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer. I bought this product with the intention of using it under my eyes as my collection 2000 concealer was running out but alas the shade I picked up (ivory) isn't light enough to put under my eyes. So I've been using this concealer on any spots and redness on my skin underneath my foundation and I've found it works really well at evening out my skin on them days when it is quite patchy.

Next I have a brand that I haven't really used before until now, I made an order recently at ELF (after I read everyone's posts about them having a sale :( ) and picked up a few bits that I really liked the look of. I picked up their ELF Mineral Eye Liner and haven't stopped using it since it arrived. It is really easy to apply and blend out, as well as gives a defined line depending on how you apply it. It is a really good eyeliner and I would recommend it.

My last product is the ELF Baked Blush in Peachey Cheeky which I feel like I say this about everything but I have used it non-stop since I received it. The colour is a gorgeous peachey colour (obviously) which is also really natural on my cheeks but you can built to it to make it more prominent on your cheek bones. I also bought two other ELF blushes which I have wrote their own post about so look out for that!

A clothing item(s) I have been loving this month is tube skirts. I may be a little late on the trend but I have tried them on before and thought that they didn't suit my shape and they made me look fat and pregnant so I obviously didn't buy them. THEN loads of different patterns came into work and I loved them all and so I told myself that I was going to make them work for me and I somehow have. Instead of tucking tops into the skirts like most people do, I've been wearing baggy tops on the top of them to hide the part of my stomach that I think they accentuate and I love the look of them now. Here are some on the skirts I've picked up recently from Newlook, Select and H&M. As you can see I love bold patterns...

You are probably sick of the last item I am going to talk about as every person seems to love this film and have included it in some form of post, but I absolutely love the film Frozen! I kept hearing everyone rave about the film and sing the songs constantly and I didn't understand the hype on a kids film. Then I watched it last week and since then I have listened to the songs every day, I've downloaded the album and plan to buy the DVD next time I go out.
I am officially obsessed and I blame you all!

Would you rather tag: Makeup edition

I can across this tag recently and thought it was a good way to show you what kind of person I am when it comes to the different types of make up :) So here we go...

Would you rather lose all your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lip glosses or lose all your palettes and eye shadows?
This is easy for me, I never were eye shadow. Mainly because I find it doesn't suit me, and I can't put it on at all... Every time I try and do smokey eyes after watching tutorials on YouTube, I end up looking like a sad panda haha so definitely I'd prefer to lose my eye shadows and palettes.

Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
I would much prefer to never cut my hair again, I love having long hair and I want to grow it all the way down to my bum!

Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
I think I'm more of a coral cheek kind of girl, its more natural on my skin tone

If you had £1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
Ohhh this is tricky... Can't I I buy both?! If I have to choose... It would have to be clothes

Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner or eyeliner as lipstick?
Black eye liner on my lips would look very strange... but I think lipstick on my waterline would be painful so I'm going to have to pick eyeliner

Would you rather only use one eye shadow colour or one lip colour for the rest of your life?
Again like I said I don't use eye shadow so it wouldn't matter if I only had one

Would you rather wear winter clothes in the summer or summer clothes in the winter?
I hate sweating way more than I hate feeling cold so I'd rather wear summer clothes in winter. I could layer up loads of them to warm me up

Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?
Definitely bright nails, they are my favourite!

Would you rather give up your favourite lip product or your favourite eye product?
I would probably say lip product as I always wear eye liner or mascara but half the time I will just use lip balm on my lips

Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?
I don't like my hair in a ponytail so Id say a messy bun, I love a good messy bun

Would you rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lip gloss?
I love painting my nails, I feel naked without them painted so defo lip gloss!

Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?
Surely I could do my eyebrows anyway I want so I could do them very lightly with the sharpie... imagine no eyebrows... scary!

Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
Well you'll notice someone make up more then their painted nails so I'm going to say I'd rather live without nail polish, but my life would be very sad and dull!

I hope you've enjoyed this, feel free to do it yourself.
Let me know when you have, I'd love to know other peoples answers :)

My favourite beauty youtubers

I love watching videos on YouTube of people talking about their favourite products, make up and fashion hauls and tutorials. This is probably the wrong website to say this but I guess I prefer watching videos then reading blogs...

Here are some of the ladies who's videos I am loving at the moment

*zoella
I'm sure everyone will know who Zoe is.  I've been subscribed to her channel for a year now and like everyone else, I've fallen in love with her! Her videos are about everything; clothes, makeup, crafty bits and some funny videos with the guys.

*velvetghost
Gabby is such a lovely girl! Her channel has grown so much over the last fee months and it's not hard to see why. She does great tutorials and is hilarious in every video. Definitely someone to watch!

*dizzybrunette3
Corrie again is a lovely girl who makes great videos including clothing hauls and beauty tags. Her style is exactly like mine so I love her clothing videos.

* the makeup chair
Sineady's channel is great for makeup newbies who want to know the basics like the different concealers, hiding spots and how to apply foundation. She has literally filmed a video for every thing you could want to know.

These four girls are always top of my list when I look through my subscriptions, they are all really entertaining and have really helped me choose new products and find some right gems!

If your looking for new people to watch on YouTube then definitely have a look at these girls!
Here are all their YouTube links :)

January Top 5: Make-up

I'm going to jump on the bandwagon and start writing monthly favourite posts every month (obviously haha) on items that I have been loving that month. So I don't write a massive blog post that might get a bit tedious, I'm going to group the favourites into separate blogs: Make up, Skincare and Hair care and Random.
So lets just jump into it... these are the 5 make up items that I have be loving this January :)

Revlon Photo Ready Crème blush in 300 Coral Reef
I've never been a fan of crème blushes until I tried this Revlon one. It's a great colour on my skin and looks really natural, which I found other crème blushes don't. This product has changed my opinion on crème blushes so I'm kind of excited to try some other ones, any recommendations?

Collection 2000 Extreme Coloured Lengthening Mascara in Blue2
I like to mix up my make-up some days and wear this bright blue mascara on my lashes. If I wake up in a summery mood, I wear this with some bright coloured clothes and pretend its the middle of the summer (I'm counting down the days till I can go outside without wearing a coat) This mascara isn't too in your face because in some lights, it does just look like normal black mascara.

Rimmel Scandaleyes waterproof eye pencil in 004Taupe
I love this eye pencil on my bottom lid as it opens up my eyes without making my eyes look too heavy which black eyeliner can do. Plus it looks nice on my top lid with a little mascara for these casual days.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in 086 Sugarplum
This lipstick is in my January favourites basically because I can't get enough of this colour and it smells like sweets, what could be better!

Lumiere Lipgloss set
My sister got me this lip-gloss set from Boots for Christmas and they have become my favourite lip glosses ever. The shades are really nice and wearable during the day and they don't dry out my lips like other lip glosses. I've tried to find them on the Boots website but they seem to have been taken off, but they should come back out again next Christmas.

And that's basically it, short and sweet just like me :)
