Whats In My Party Clutch | NYE Edition

Whats In My Party Clutch | NYE Edition

Girls have a lot of essentials they need in their handbag and by gosh I carry everything but the kitchen in sink my mine. During a night out though I do tend to downsize to a smaller bag and a smaller pick of essentials. Here are my New Years Eve night out essentials that I always have on me when I do venture out for the night.

I always like to take a perfume out with me in case I get a bit crazy on the dance floor and start to smell funky... My go to perfume at the minute is Dolce and Gabbana and my bottle is nearly empty because I have used it none stop recently. Carrying on with smelling nice I always have a pack or pot of chewing gums in my clutch bag because you never know when you might get bad breath. I hate drinking a cider and then smelling it on my breath and since I am a boy when I drink, I 99.9% of the time will be drinking cider so chewing gums are always needed.

I take my Babylips lip balm with me everywhere during the day and night so of course it is in my clutch bag on a night out and also for my lips I carry two lip options for the night. 9 out of 10 times I wear a red lip for a night out in December so of course I carry one with me and I've included the Clinique Colour Pop Lipstick in Cherry Pop to top up my red lips but I also take a nude shade out with me. This is because during nights out I can get bored with my lips or after having food and drink my lipstick is non-existent and I don't want to reapply the red shade, so I always bring a moisturising nude shade to give my lips a rest and I picked the Clinique Colour Pop Lipstick in Bare Pop for this. This lipstick is so moisturising and long wearing on the lips that it is a easy choice to throw in the bag.

To stop me sweating my life away I always bring some sort of powder in my bag for top ups and my current favourite is the Dior Skin Nude Tan in light which I have had for a very long time. I used to think this powder was more of a bronzer but after some time I realised that it wasn't giving me bronzed goddess cheekbones so it must only be a powder. This gives my skin a lovely glow and feels lovely on the skin. It doesn't leave your skin looking like it has powder on which is one of the reasons I really love this powder for nights out. To top up my bronzer I always carry my Hoola bronzer in my bag as this is a fail safe option. It doesn't matter what bronzer you have previously used on your face, this product always look good on your skin and suits everyone so if someone in the group needs a top up I have them covered.

Concealers are a must have product during a night out to cover up the dark circles that appear after a certain time! My two favourite products to use are Maybelline Fit Me in shade 10 and Collection Lasting Perfection in Cool Medium. The collection concealer touches up any blemishes that start to reappear and the Maybelline concealer covers my good old grey bags.

Lastly of course I carry around my money, phone and ID in my bag and I am set to go.
Hope you all have an amazing and safe New Years Eve.

3 Party Reds

I do love an occasional red lip like any girl and like most people, I have my favourites. These always come out doing the festive season more than any other time of the year and here are my 3 favourite reds for any festive party.

This liquid lipstick is so luxurious and perfect if you are planning on painting the town red all night (see what I did there), it lasts all night and doesn't need any topping up which makes it great for a night out. This is a great pinky red which I like to pair with a red lip liner and a soft contour on the cheeks. This is a product that rarely lives my makeup draw to be honest because it is a very eye catching colour on the lips and I don't feel like I can get away with it on a daily basis, but for a night out it is perfect for drawing attention.

This red lipstick is gorgeous in every way. The product is so hydrating and moisturising on the lips which I don't find with many other red lip products. I love having this product on my lips and the three shades that I have in my collection are really loved. It feels more of a lip balm then a lipstick when it is on your lips which is the main reason I love it as I have severely dry lips. This does bleed if you don't use a lip liner and you do have to be careful not to go crazy with the tub otherwise you will end up with lipstick all over your chin, but this is my truest red shade so this is what I like to call my 'party girl red'.

This lipstick is an old favourite of mine and I mentioned it last year in my Autumn Red post and a year later it is still one of my favourites. It is super long lasting, great for a night out on the tiles and easy to reapply on the go.  This is a red shade which has pink undertones in it similar to the Dior Fluid Stick but doesn't have as much as a impact. This is my 'can't go wrong' throw it in the bag lipstick which come in very handy during this season.

Do you have any recommendation for great red lipsticks for dry lips?

October Favs

monthly, favourites, october, tanya burr, revlon, loreal, dior, eBay, beauty, makeup, newlook, the makeup chair
I am so happy that it is November finally, I feel like I have been waiting for this month since January. This year I won't be prepared for Christmas presents but I already have a bunch of festive posts lined up so I am happy about that. My proprieties ladies and no gentlemen.

Anyway I have a few products I have been loving this past month and I am going to start off with the prettiest of them all. I bought these brushes in September after reading Makeup Savvy's blog post about them and I am so glad that I did. They are from eBay and they are only £4.99 for 7 brushes! They are an absolute bargain. I love the gold design of them and they are the perfect size for sticking in your makeup bag on the go. The brush hair is super soft and gentle which is the main reason I love them so much, I have a huge pot of eye makeup brushes from loads of different shops and brands but these brushes are now my favourite for creating eye looks. They are the perfect size for blending out eye shadows and most importantly blend them out beautiful so you don't have any harsh lines and the eye shadows don't go all the way up to your eye brow. You also get a foundation brush and two face brushes that I like to use for bronzing and contouring (which is why they are a little dirty)

An old favourite that I have pulled back out of my draw is the Dior Pore Minimzer primer. It is very expensive but for a good reason as it is a great product that keeps my makeup in place all day and makes my skin feel like a babies bottom. The tub has lastly me a few years as well even with me using it more and more over the last few months.

Two products that I purchased only two weeks ago but have fallen in love with are the L'Oreal True Match Liquid Glow Illuminator and the Tanya Burr Face Illuminator. These are both golden illuminators which I tend to wear underneath my foundation on top of cheek bones. These give my skin a really lovely glow from within look and gives my skin some dimension before I have even contoured or bronzed. You only need a small amount of product on your face so these tube will definitely last me a long time, these will definitely come in handy during next summer.

A new mascara that I have been loving the past month is the Revlon Volume and Length Magnified mascara which is my new favourite mascara ever. The wand is big and fluffy so it is perfect for getting big fluttery lashes and perfect for my straight lifeless mascara.

Lastly a lipstick that I have been reaching for the most this past month is the Newlook lipstick in 24 Mid Brown which is the perfect dark nudey brown. The lipstick is really creamy and glides onto the lips really smoothly. It lasts me usually till about lunch time and then after I have eaten I reapply it and I am good to go.

A Few Forgotten Gems

dior, next, beauty, makeup, bodyshop, benefit, erase paste, hello flawless foundation, addict, fluid stick,

I was shopping my stash recently and I have found a bundle of products that haven't seen the light of day in months now. My collection has boomed lately so it has been hard seeing every product that I have and finding time to use every single product. I recently sorted through my draws and condensed my makeup down from four to two draws which is really good for me. Here a few products that I have kept in my stash and need to try and show some more love to them.

I purchased this Next Palette so long ago now in a next store when I went in to find some funny presents for my family at Christmas. I have never tried Next makeup before so I was really intrigued as all these colours are gorgeous and it was only £10.  I can honestly say I have used this palette once since I got it which I am really sad about. The pigmentation of the colours are really vibrant but you do need to really work your brush to get the product. It is the kind of shadows where if you rub your finger into the product you get a lot of product but when you rub your brush in it, you don't get a lot of product off the brush. It isn't too much of a problem as I quite like using my fingers to apply eye shadow sometimes.

My next forgotten gem is the Bodyshop Shimmer Cubes Palette in 30. My friend bought me these for Christmas last year and I absolutely loved them! I used them for quite a few weeks but since then they haven't really been opened. The pigmentation of these is really good and I like to use these when I want some extra shimmer on top of another shadow or in the crease to give my look a little something. The cube includes the shades Dusty Fawn. Warm Copper, Burnished Gold and Rich Expresso and they are all shades I really love, especially Dusty Fawn as a highlighter! I really need to whip this out more often.

dior, next, beauty, makeup, bodyshop, benefit, erase paste, hello flawless foundation, addict, fluid stick,

I have included the Benefit Erase Paste in blog post before and really liked how it worked on my posts and blemishes but recently I have fell back in love with my Collection concealer and every other product has been forgotten. I have this concealer in number 1 Fair but I could still use something a little bit lighter as it is quite a orangey shade which obviously isn't good when you haven't got a tan. I have a sort of tan at the moment so I am going to pop this in my makeup bag and use it on some pesky spots that keep appearing on my chin.

Another Benefit product I have only used once is a sample size of the Hello Flawless foundation in the shade Honey. I got this in a Benefit box set and the women in boots colour matched me to the Honey box so that is the shade I got, once I was home I realised she must have needed glasses as it was so dark on me! Even with a tan I am still not the right shade for the foundation so that pot is a lost cause, I am hoping if I mix it with a really pale foundation I can find a shade that will suit me. Wish me luck on that one!

Lastly I have had my Dior Addict Fluid Stick in the shade 754 Pandore in my collection for years and I have only used it a hand full of times. It is am amazing product, with an impressive duration, in beautiful packaging and in the most vibrant colour but I don't really wear it. The colour is so vibrant it can't be worn on a day to day basis as it is too in your face (for me anyway). This is definitely more of a night out product with its bright red colour but when was the last time I went out and got dolled up? I don't even remember.
I have been promoted at my old job in my home town and will be starting back there in two weeks so I am hoping when I was not doing 10 hours days and getting up stupidly early to drive to work for 6 or 7 that I will have more energy and be more willing to go out again. I have been such a hedgehog recently in the sense that I have hibernated for most of the last 3 months. I even fell asleep when I had couples round my house for date night because I was that tired from travelling to and from my current job so coming back home is going to feel like heaven!

Anyway enough of my ramble, hopefully I find some time or occassion to wear these products otherwise they might be in my 'forgotten gems' post next year! Hopefully not!

August favourites

august, bourjois, Clinique, dior, favourite, MAC, makeup, Miss Sporty, newlook. beauty, Products, rimmel,

There has been a few products that I haven't stopped using this August, to the point where I have turned my room upside down because I can't find them (they were in my hand bag for the record). I have mentioned the Dior Pore Minimizer Primer before in a post looking at my Dior Collection and I did say that I rarely use this product because it is expensive and a present from a relative. This month I stopped hiding it in my draw and whipped it out for some uses, I mean there is no point holding onto a product for it just to go off! It is a great product and leaves my skin so soft. I don't have a problem with big pores thankfully but when my skin has been red and patchy, this product has smoothed out my problems ready for my next products. I do believe it keeps my foundation on for longer as I used it when I spent the whole day in Leicester where it was windy and rained on and off, when I got home my foundation was still in tack and looking good.

My first and favourite loose powder that I like to use is the Newlook Pure Colour Loose Powder in Translucent. I used pressed powders for years and never wanted to try loose powders before until I decided to try out this powder from Newlook. I have now jumped on the bang wagon and wouldn't go back to my Rimmel Pressed Powder. It is great at keeping my under eye makeup in place all day and doesn't make my skin turn cakey or give me spots. That was one thing I was worried about with loose powder as you tend to use more product but I didn't need to worry. It can get messy and from now on I do keep my pot on the top of my draws as it gets messy when it moves around in my draws but it is easy to clean with a brush.

I have been going in between two different concealers this month and the first one is the Miss Sporty Concealer in Light. This is great at brightening my eye area and different points around my face. It is really creamy and easy to blend in which makes making my eye bags a thing of the past. It doesn't have a high coverage so I wouldn't use this on problem areas but it is a great eye concealer. My other concealer is the Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer in 01 Ivory. Again I use this concealer on my under eye area and it is great at brightening that area. This product is a thicker consistency than the Miss Sporty product so it takes a bit more to blend it in. I like going in between these two products depending on how much makeup I am putting on that day and how bad my bags are.

I have two lip products I have been all over this month and they are Mac Cremesheen in Delight and Clinique Colour Pop in Bare Pop. Yes I know I have mentioned Clinique Bare Pop why too much in my lifetime but I just love it sooooo much! I will try and stop talking about it but I can't promise anything... The Mac Delight on the other hand I think I have hardly mentioned which I am shocked about. It is the perfect lip gloss in shade and product, the shade is a perfect pinky nude which is great for everyday makeup and goes with any makeup look. The consistency is kinda thick but not so thick that your lips feel suffocated, it sinks into your lips and leaves them with a glossy colour on you lips which isn't sticky.

Lastly a hair product that I have been using for months now but it hasn't made its way into my favoruites before now is the Urban Therapy Twisted Sista Different Strokes Serum which I apply to wet hair before I leave it to dry. This gives my hair moisture, stops it going frizzy when it is dried and leaves it super smooth and shinny when it is dry. When I don't use this product my hair feels dry and rough and doesn't sit well whatever I try to do with it. I couldn't live without this product to be honest.

What products have you loved in August?

My Favourite Primers

Primer, Round up, Dior, benefit, Newlook, Revolution, Collection,

A trend that I have really been embracing this year is primers and I have a collection of pretty good products in my stash now. Mainly all drugstore but I do have a special mention for one high end product which I love. I have recently finally purchased the Nivea Mens Post Shaving Balm which I am currently trying out so I wanted to take a look at my beloved old favourites before this product takes over my life.

Revolution Ultra Face Base Primer
I think this was the first ever primer I purchased and and the only silicone formula I have in my collection. I love the finish this gives my skin, it always feels like baby skin after I've used it and it does a great job of keeping my makeup in place all day. I need to repurchase this primer again as I'm nearly running out and I like to have it in my stash to go back to all the time.

Newlook Pure Colour Mattifying Primer
I've spoken about this product before quite a few time most recently on Pure Colour Collection so you will know how much I am fond of this product. It really works at stopping my skin from turning oily or shinny during the day and keeps my makeup up to scratch when I'm running around all day.

Benefit Pore-fessional Primer
This is a blogger classic which over the years I have received lots of samples of so I have never had to fork out on a full size which is helpful! The texture of this product is my favourite out of them all as it so soft and creamy on your skin. I tend to use this when I am going out for the evening or for special occasions.

Lastly I have a special mention for my Dior Pore Mininizer Primer which is my favourite (and only) high end primer. This is so luxurious for a primer and my ultra party primer potion for when I go to very special occasions, this baby isn't getting wasted!

A look at Dior

I have a pretty little collection of Dior cosmetics thanks to my late Aunt who worked at Dior before she passed this Christmas. I was lucky even to spend some time with my aunt and my uncle before she got really ill and she gave me these items as a gift before I left, so these items have some special meaning to me. Because of the sentimental value of these items I try not to use them very often so these items are saved for important occasions.

The first Dior item is the Pore Minimizer primer which is the best primer I have ever used. I know when I use this product that my makeup will last all day and looks the best. The second item is the Nude Tan Light powder which is a lovely light bronzer which is great when I am having a pale day and need a little pick me up. You can never go wrong with this bronzer because it is a light bronzey colour you can never look orange.

The next two products are Dior Addict mascaras which I really like to use to create simple flared lashes. I have two mascaras In the colours black 092 and the purple 162 and obviously one gets used more. These mascaras are great at opening out your eyes and spreading your lashes out, I tend to put a different bigger mascara on on top if I am going out on a big occasion just to add a bit of length and extra fibres to my lashes.

Lastly is the Fluid Stick by Dior in the shade 754. Boy does this lip product pack a punch! It îs a cherry red shade which is super pigmented and really compliments the skin. It is super long lasting and makes a great statement with minimal makeup for the rest of the face. The packaging of the fluid stick, as well as the other products, is beautiful as well.

I would like to dedicate this post to my aunt Jill who always look glamorous and never stopped succeeding in life. :)

Monthly Favourites | February '15

It's that time again people where I tell you guys what I have been looooving this past month and this month is a beauty biggy! I have got loads of make up bits I want to share with you so grab a tea and biscuit and rest your feet...

The first favourite isn't makeup but it is so much better! Whenever I have been at home I have been non stop watching my Sex and the City box set that I got for Christmas a few years ago. Yes I am currently watching it in bed right now as I'm writing this and I am loving life! I am definitely Charlotte.

My next favourite is a eye pencil that I have been wearing on my eyes near enough every day. It is the Mac kohl pencil in the shade Teddy which is a lovely brown shade that really opens up your eyes. I like to wear this without mascara (on them days when I'm too lazy to take my eye makeup off at the end of the night)

Next is the Dior Addict It Lash mascara in black which is just amazing! It never clumps on me and lasts all day on my lashes. This is my go to mascara for any big day or night or just when I'm making a special effort that day.

This month my go to foundation most days has been the Maybelline Fit Me in shade Ivory. I have been using his foundation for a while now, I've writen a few posts including it and I always find myself coming back to it because it works so well for me.

I have never been very much into doing up my eyebrows before I saw it as a waste of time, then my sister done my eyebrows round her house and she actually had the perfect shade for me! I have been put off doing my eye brows before because I have never found a right shade for me but then my sister surprised me. What I have been using is the MUA pro brown kit in medium and dark.

Lastly I have been loving the Revolution Blush Palette in Sugar and Spice. The colours are all very high quality and they go great with my contour as they are all darkest brownish colours (worse description ever!!) but trust me they are good :)

Hope you guys enjoyed this months favourite post and tell me what you've been loving this month :)
