24th Birthday Haul | Mary Berry, Urban Decay, Kiko, Glossier & Clinique

I am officially a 24 year old and I don't know how I feel about that. I still feel 18 and I still look 16 so 24 feels like a very strange age. I thought I would do a birthday haul and show you everything that I received for my birthday and I have loads of new goodies to try for the blog.

Starting off with skincare Cal used my Glossier Wish List post to pick put some glossier products for me and he done good. He got me a set which included the Milky Jelly Cleanser, Priming moisturiser and the Balm dotcom. The balm has already made its way into my handbag and the moisturiser has really surprised me. I have used it for the last few days underneath my makeup and I have really like how it made my skin feel, my makeup has glided on afterwards. He also separately bought me the Solution exfoliating skin perfector and the Super Bounce serum. The Solution is a lot harsher than I imagined it would be so it is definitely a once a week skincare product and the serum is out of this world in my opinion. Yes it is my first serum in my life so I may just be blown away with the effects because I have never used one before but I am in love right now.

My sister got my a load of Kiko products to try and the first one which I am really excited about is the Exfoliating Lip Stick because you guys know how much of a problem I have with my lips so a stick scrub is right up my street. She also got me a Smart Fusion lip pencil in the shade 533 which is a nice deep brown nude which matches the matte lipstick she also bought me in shade Velvet Passion. This lipstick is so cool because it smells like chocolate and the top is magnetic and it is one of them things that you can't stop playing with. Lastly from Kiko I got the Volumeeyes+ active mascara in black which is great because it has a fiber brush with a thin tip which is great at getting in the corners baby lashes.

Finishing off the beauty section of this haul I have the Naked Heat palette by Urban Decay which is just beautiful. I have waited a while to try this palette and I have used it for the last few days since I got it. My favourite combo has to be He Devil with Scorched on top which looks so pretty. I love pinky red tones so this palette is perfect for me. I also got the Clinique Beyond Perfecting foundation and concealer in the shade 3.5 cream rose which I have been wanting to try for a long time. It is definitely a natural foundation which is what I like and the colour match is spot on so this will permanently be in my makeup bag for a while.

Moving onto non makeup presents Cal also got me the Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue which was one of the first perfumes he bought me over the years so we've come back full circle. I also got this lovely red Linea Cross Body Circle bag which is the perfect size for days out and a great colour for nights out with a all black outfit.

Lastly I received loads of books for my birthday mainly of Mary Berry who is my favourite human of the moment. I got two baking books which are 100 Cakes and Bakes and Mary Berry's Baking Bible and two cooking books which are Classic Mary Berry and Mary Berry Everyday. My last book is Stacey Dooley's On The Frontline With The Women Who Fight Back, I have been obsessed with Stacey ever since she was on Blood Sweat and T-shirts. I love everything Stacey is about and can't wait to read about her experiences first hand.

24 things i've learned (about myself) in 24 years

I make a good toad in the hole
I really should have started wearing eye cream in my early 20s
Looking young sucks no matter how much people say I will be grateful when im older
Zac Efron isn't going to find me and fall in love and that's alright
Wine doesn't taste that bad
I should have carried on dancing when I was younger, I could be famous by now
I am a bad photographer
I hog too much of the bed
Life is better with a snapchat filter
My fear of heights will only get worse as I age
I worry about things too much, I need to let go more
I'm stronger than I look
London will also be my favourite place
Also I will never be a Made In Chelsea girl
I spend way too much on food and clothes
But I'm also really good with money
I'm a simple girl
I'm a early riser and that will never change
I'm also a sloth past 6pm
I really don't care about leaving the house without makeup, bring it on
I will also cry at emotional films I can't help it
Don't bother looking at jeans unless their petit
I'm not weird for imagining myself in films and music videos when I fall asleep
I deserve that extra piece of cake

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME !

Wedding Series | My Pinterest Hair Inspo

Following on with my wedding series I have collected loads of photos off Pinterest of hair styles which I would love for my wedding day. I love the look of short and long wedding hair so choosing if I want to cut or grow my hair for my wedding is a tough decision. Although I am loving having a short lob style right now I have always wanted long wavy hair for my wedding so who knows which way I will go!

Since I want a outdoor garden/field wedding I want the boho hair to match so my perfect wedding hair would be loose wavys/curls with some french plaits and flowers in. I don't want to look like I have put a lot of effort into my hair so I want it to look quite natural and low maintenance. The flowers are optional depending on if I feel too silly in them, but again it is my wedding day so who should care but me!

All photos have been taken from Pinterest so make sure that you go over to my Hair board and show some love to the original photo!

Little Things That Make A House A Home

I know now that it takes a long while to get your home exactly how you want it and since having my own home, I have found that you can have a quite plain boring room but by adding one thing, you can change it into an inviting space that looks like you have spent a lot of time making it feel like a home rather than a house.

Little Things That Make A House A Home

One thing that I have recently found to really make a difference is photo frames, they are amazing at making a room feel more homely. We didn't have any photos up for a long time because we have never been big photo people, it was only when someone gave us a photo frame a few weeks ago that we had an excuse to gets some photos developed. I took this opportunity to go crazy with the photos to give us a lot of choice when it came to picking which photo we used and now the photo frames look like they have been their the whole time.

Another item that makes any room but especially bedrooms and living rooms look more cosy are pillows and throws. I love anything that reminds me of a bed so I love throws on the sofas because I can wrap up in them and pretend that I have my sh*t together. I find they really tie a room together and you can either match the theme of the room or completely go against it and make a statement with a bold pattern or colour. My favourite thing to do is changing the colour of pillows and throw during the different seasons because you can get some quality throws and pillow covers in Primark for not that much and then you never have to settle on one theme.

Something I have always been into is candles and my old bedroom at my parents house used to be covered in large candles and now I have my own home they are spread out evenly in the rooms. I find candles make dull shelves and tables look so much more appealing and especially when they are being used they make the space so much more cosy. Even Callum loves a good candle so there is one out there for everyone.

Another thing I have become obsessed with since having my own house is house plants. I can't say I am the best at keeping them alive but I love having them around especially in the bathroom and kitchen. Another thing connected to house plants is flowers which I think makes a room so much more homely and inviting, I wish I had an abundance of flowers in ever room but sadly again they never last long with me but I love them while they are alive.

Something that I know the girls will definitely agree with and the boys may object to is having fairy lights around the house. I love fairy lights and keep a set up all year round wrapped around our spare bed because who doesn't want some fairy lights in the background. At Christmas time as well I am allowed to wrap fairy lights around the banister, tv unit and lamp in the living room and the room is so cosy and lovely I never want to take them down. I know they aren't to everyone cup of tv but they can really complete a room.

Something I like to leave on the living room coffee table is a bowl full of treats whether that is chocolate or sweets whatever we have. I guess you could call me a feeder... I don't like people to go hungry so I always make sure there is something for someone so having a bowl of treats on the table encourages people to relax and take a handful while they kick back. They are also great when you get peckish watching tv and can't be bothered to move!

The last tip I have for this blog post is have big ass mirrors and canvases everywhere possible. I love big wall mirrors that take up the whole space. You don't have to worry about choosing a photo or painting to go on the blank wall and they are great at making the space feel bigger. I love mirrors in hall walls or on the top of stairs because they look great and most important, are great for outfit photos! Canvas are also great if you have one photo you and your partner really like which would look great blown up on a big wall, its choosing the photo that is hard!

What do you have around your house to make it feel more like home? :)

Glossier Wish List

Glossier seems to be everywhere at the minute and I feel like the only blogger left to have not tried the brand yet. I can't go anywhere with a video, blog post or insta including a product from them. This has helped me remember which products I definitely want to try because they have been mentioned by everyone!

One of them products is the Milky Jelly Cleanser (£15) which seems to be everyone's favourite. I love cleansers a lot but I don't tend to try too many different products since I have my set favourites so adding this to my collection would be a big deal. I like that it seems to be a bog standard cleanser which does what it says on the bottle.

A product which gets a lot of mixed reviews are the Balm Dot Com lip balms (£10), some people say they are great and easy to wear where as other people say they are a waste of a product. Since I love using lip balms and have a large collection scattered around the house I would love to try them. I mean they are a lip balm where can they go wrong!?

Another lip product I want to try are the Generation G Sheer Matte Lipstick (£14), the name just draws me in. I love matte lipsticks but I also love sheer lipsticks but hate that they never last and smudge all over my face. Combining the two makes the perfect lipstick for me! I'm excited to try one of these as I can see these becoming my new everyday lip item.

Finishing makeup items with the Stretch Concealer (£15) which is another love or hate product. I don't like/need a lot of coverage around my eye area, concealers for me are more to cover up my tired eyes so this product which is light coverage and quite dewy sounds right up my street. I'm not a huge fan of the pot but that I could work with if the product was worth it.

Moving onto skincare there are two items which I really want to get my hands on! First up is the Super Bounce Hyaluronic Acid Serum ( £25) which sounds very scary but I have heard great things about. I have very dry skin as many of you know so a serum which hydrates the skin while you wear it sounds amazing and I keep saying I want to try out a serum so this may be the one.

Lastly I have the Solution Exfoliating Skin Perfector which gets rid of dead skin cells and reduces redness and helps problematic skin. Now I don't have problematic skin any more (thanks god) but I do have times now and again when my face is a pizza with toppings so this sounds great at preventing that problem and dealing with it at the time. I am a little scared to use it because a lot of people say 'if it ain't broken don't fix it' so I fear trying it will bring on a case of problem skin but I still want to see how good it is for myself.

Since I'm not made of money and buying all this would cost me £79 excluding the solution which is currently sold out so it won't show me the price I think I'll stick to using up my existing products and replacing them with Glossier when I need to restock. Hopefully soon I will be talking about a product on the blog!

10 most popular posts from 2017

10 most popular posts from 2017
I might be a little late with this post but I think I can be forgiven given the start of the year I had. This is a little tradition I do every year where I go through the 10 most popular blog posts from the previous year.

The most popular blog post of 2017 is no surprise to me because it has featured in every popular blog post post since 2015. I don't know why but you guys love this post since 2014 How To Style Ripped Jeans when it first went up. In the post I take you through my favourite ways to style my ripped jeans showing you photos from Pinterest.

My second most popular blog post from 2017 is Why Short Girls Have More Fun which is basically a silly post which I wrote right after I first cut my hair off into a lob. I featured my main girl Jenna Louise Coleman who even today is still my main girl crush.

Next up is post all about one of my favourite drugstore brand for foundation. Rimmel Foundations take you through all the foundations I had in my collection at the time and which formulas I like. I always say you can't go wrong with a Rimmel Foundation!

Next is another post all the way back from 2015 about my Dream Pinterest Home where I show you photos from Pinterest of my dream type of kitchen. I love the look of old fashioned wooden kitchens with big windows, anything that looks like a cottage catches my eye.

My fifth most popular post from last year was my New Years Solutions for 2015 which I totally forgot about. It is nice to look back and see if I have actually achieved what I set out to do 3 years ago. The first resolution was to start saving money again after just buying my car, I have definitely done that saving enough money to buy a house! Mission completed for that one I think! Next was to stop getting take away and learn to cook more which I would say I have done since moving out. I can make loads more now and only really get takeaway if someone comes over to visit or when I'm home alone. My final resolution was to plan more things to do in the warmer months and I've already made my summer checklist for this year so I can check that off my list!

My sixth most popular post was a list of reasons Why I Love the Autumn Time which is my favourite time of the year. We might as well use this now since it feels like winter is coming again.

Next up is my Whats in My Makeup Bag from September 2017 which features all drugstore products which I still love today and have repurchased many times already. It also features my Zoella makeup bag which looks super cute in photos.

Next up is a wish list I made back in October of all the products I want to invest in this year and sadly I haven't had a chance to purchase any yet. I'm hoping I will get some for my Birthday next month hint hint Callum and Laura...

My 9th most popular post of 2017 is My Favourite Shops For Home Decor with home related posts becoming my favourites to write recently. I love reading about what other people buy to kit out their homes and love writing them too. We are 10 months into living in our house and still no where complete in filling the house. By the end of the week we will have another corner of the house started but finding home decor pieces can be time consuming,

Lastly we have my engagement story post which went up September last year, 5 months after Callum proposed. Like I said in the post it was a complete shock when it happened and even know I forget that I am engaged, especially now while my ring is away for a few weeks being cleaned. If you want to feel like you know me a little better take a read of this post.

Things I Want To Do This Summer

Things I Want To Do This Summer

Although I am a winter girl at heart I love love love summer time, even though summers in England aren't the best. Every morning recently I have woke up to the sun shining through my window and then when I leave the house I am absolutely freezing my breasts off! I really really need some sun especially now this annoying snow storm has arrived!

I have already started making a list of things I want to do this summer with Cal and the girls so I thought I would share it with you all (and keep it as a reminder to do these things!)

Go to a pub garden for Sunday lunch
I normally get 9/10 Sundays off so I love going out for a late lunch on a Sunday. I love having a roast (because I don't have to make or clean up afterwards) and sit in the pub garden enjoying the weather. Fruit ciders are my summer, winter, spring and Autumn drink so I'd never say no!

Go for walk round random villages
Even before I moved to the village we live in now Cal and I have always loved walking round cute little villages. We love old buildings, churches and manor houses so if a village has any of these Callum and I will walk round.

Go crazy golf/driving range
I went crazy golf for the first time last year and loved it! I wasn't the best but I enjoyed playing it so much. I then went to a driving range for the first time after that and enjoyed that even more. I was actually not that bad at the driving range so I really want to have another go this summer. We have a giant golf course just half an hour away in Milton Keynes so I want to drive down as soon as it is warmer outside and give it another go.

Go for a picnic in Emberton /Wickstead park
We are very lucky that Wickstead park is only 10 minutes away in the car from us so when the weather is good we normally go there for the day and take some food and lay down in the sun. You can either have a lazy day in the sun or walk round the ground and play on the rides. It has so much there is something for everyone. I really can't wait to go back and if we want a change of scenery we can drive a little further to Emberton Country Park in Olney which is super pretty and right next to the village of Olney which is nice to walk round.

Go to the Zoo!
I love going to the zoo on a sunny day and we live not far from the Hamerton Zoo which is surprisingly bigger than you would have imagined. They have everything from Meerkats and lions to camels so definitely worth the money.

BBQ in the garden
I have been to many BBQs over the years but I have never hosted one myself so I really want to host one this year in our garden. We have a big enough garden to host all of our close friends and family so hopefully we don't burn down the house... I will let you know how that goes.

Go for a weekend away at a English seaside
Although I have gone down to the seaside many times over the years, I have never spent more than one day there so I would love to spend a weekend somewhere. I am someone who is easily pleased so spending the weekend laying on a beach and playing the penny machines sounds amazing to me.

Transforming my garden into the secret garden
I really want to become the new Charlie Dimmock this summer and transform my garden from boring to colourful. I am going to watching lots of old Garden Sos and Garden Rescue shows for some tips and inspiration. I will blog the process once it is underway.

Hopefully keep my house plants alive for longer
Not much more explanation needed really.

Wedding Series | My Pinterest Dream Venue

Although I have no plans to get married any time soon that doesn't stop me looking through Pinterest for the perfect venue and the perfect dress. So I thought I would make a post to give you all an idea of what kind of day I would love and hopfully when it comes to it I can use this post to make it happen. All the photos shown I have found over on Pinterest and they will all be pinned to a board called 'WEDDINGS' so feel free to go over to the board to find the original image and show the person some love by pinning it onto one of your boards!

I have always wanted to get married outside in the middle of a field with wooden signs directing people to the right place and an alter covered in flowers and little cute white chairs all sitting in rows with ribbons. Turns out a lot of people think the same as me so I have found so many photos of exactly what I want!

As you can probably tell I am totally into simple English country style weddings so when ever I see photos of similar weddings I go crazy! Although my wedding is a long way off since we are in no rush now we have the house, I still love spending hours on Pinterest searching other peoples weddings. I am under no illusion that I will be able to have a wedding anything like this (especially with the state of the weather in England when it is suppose to be summer) but it is nice to window shop!

If you guys like this post I will do another all about my favourite design of dresses, hair and honeymoons!! A girl can dream right?!

PS remember to go over to my Pinterest to show the original photos some love! They will all be pinned in my WEDDINGS board for you!

What I've Been Watching On Netflix || Documentaries, Films and Tv Shows

What I've Been Watching On Netflix || Documentaries, Films and Tv Shows

I am a total Netflix junkie and regularly choose watching something on the app rather than on sky so my Netflix history is quite large. Whenever I watch something really good on it I like to tell everyone to go watch it themselves and I have more films and docs to tell you about today.

Documentaries

The Keepers
I love a good murder mystery doc and I saw the advert for this documentary before it was officially released and couldn't wait to see it. It is based around a group of former pupils from a catholic school in Baltimore who after 40 years are still trying to discover who murders their favourite teacher Sister Cathy Cesnik. It includes reports from police and interviews with former pupils who shed some light on the ins and outs of the school which for 40 years the school and the Archdiocese had tried to hide. I watched the 7 part documentary in one day I was so hooked and at the end I really hopped someone was going to get justice! If you loved Making a Murderer than you will like this.

Reggie Yates Extreme
Another doc I love which follows Reggie Yates as he travels to different countries and looks at sexuality, religion, violence and child modeling among others. He has two volumes of the series and I have watched both because they are really gripping and each of them follow a different concept. My favourite episodes have to be in Russia because it shows how completely different countries can be in the way they act, think and what they believe in.

TV Shows

American Horror Story
I have been obsessed with this series since I first discovered it on Netflix a few years ago. It is so unlike anything else on tv which is way I like it. It can be so disgusting and violent but that is what the show is about. I started with the Murder House series and become hooked from there with the Coven series being my favourite because they are all bad bitches. I watched the latest series about Donald Trump and the election and I still don't know how I feel about it, I felt like it didn't have an ending. But if you like violence, sex, grim behavior then you will love it! Each series is different as well so if you don't enjoy one, there is always something different to try.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
I started watching this series when I was bored living in my parents house when I wanted something to watch and oh my it became my favourite tv show for a very long time. It follows a women who for a number of years was locked in a bunker by a crazy Reverent with three other girls. She has no idea how the world works and then when they are discovered she is thrown into the New York life. I find it hilarious because she is so child like and it has Tituss Burgess in who is an amazing actor and is perfect for the show. It is a really easy watch and so so funny.

Call The Midwife
Netflix got me hooked on Call The Midwife so much that I went out and purchased series 6 on dvd so that I was ready for the current series which is on TV right now. Netflix, why don't you have series 6 that's what I want to know?! Anyway I am totally in love with this series it has made me want to live back in that era because I know I would be Trixie (who should totally still be with Tom, at least in real life they are happy with a new born baby)  It deals with a lot of different issues which were common at the time and it is still great to watch as a pick me up.

Films

Before I Fall
This is a really beautiful film about a girl who is involved in a car accident which makes her repeat that single day over and over again until she makes a change which is going to stop the accident happening, easier said then done. During the film she learns a lot about herself, her friends and the people around her which coupled with the fact shes in a car accident made me cry like a baby. I love films where something happens to a character which makes them have out of body experiences.

Autumn Dreams
This film is about a couple who elope in their teens but are separated by the girls father because of their age, they don't see each other for a good few years until they discover their marriage was never annulled at the time. They are both also engaged to other people when they find out so they obviously want to sort it quick but it involves spending time with each other which you can guess what happens. Love love love this film Colin Egglesfield is a fittie as well which makes watching it even more enjoyable!

The Choice
This is a typical american romantic film about a bad boy who films for the sweet girl next door but their are other people involved and there is a cute dog running around. Then when you think finally everyone is happy something happens and I really didn't see it coming. I was a mess after watching this film so I will warn you get tissues and a cuddly toy to hold because you will be crying. The film is worth the cry though and if you love a boy with a southern accent then you need to hear Benjamin Walker's southern accent...

A Christmas Prince
Lastly to remind us of happier times over Christmas I watched A Christmas Prince which is so good. I love sappy hallmark films and this is a typical one about a reporter who wants to get a story on the rebellious young prince and ends up with a job in the royal house by mistake and falls for the dashing prince. I blame these kind of films for my need to marry a prince which is obviously never going to happy since both Hazza and Wills are loved up.

Do you have any recommendations for Netflix?
I have a big list of shows and films I want to watch but I have room for me!

Winter Pamper Routine 2018

Winter Pamper Routine 2018

After a long day at work nothing makes me feel more relaxed or refreshed like a good old pamper evening, usually by myself because I am a introvert and like to spend quality time with myself. I've needed multiply pamper evenings over the last few weeks because it hasn't been the easiest start to the year but they are never disappointing.

Like I have just said I like to be alone when I have a pamper evening/day/weekend depending on how much I need to relax and I live with my partner so I normally see Cal for an hour or so chit chatting while we are making dinner and then I leave him to it to go and begin my routine.

The first thing I do to relax is run a boiling hot bubble bath and shove loads of different products into it. Depending on whether I need to wash my hair while I am in the bath I either opt for a Lush Bath bomb or one of my Molton Brown Bubble baths, both my all time favourites. If I don't need to wash my hair I chuck a multicolored bath bomb in the bath and just watching the colours change relaxes me. If I do need to wash my hair I pour in one of two Molton Brown Bubble Baths which are Mesmerising Oudh Accord & Gold or Vintage With Elderflower which both leave the water sparkling and smelling gorgeous. I received so many bottles of Molton Brown for Christmas that I am slowly working my way through them all but these two bubbles baths are the stand out heroes so far. I also received loads of Lush but that is coming in another post!

Once my bath is ready I like to rest my ipad in the wooden holder I got for Christmas from my sister (mega sister points for that gift!), light all the candles in my bathroom, make a glass of wine or in this case fresh orange juice and watch a good film or a couple of episodes of a series on Netflix. I am currently obsessed with Friends because I am a basic 90s girl so you can usually find me glued to the screen because I love it so much. I've written a few posts about what I watch on Netflix so go on over and have a gander for something to watch! I am planning to posting a new one soon since so much has been added to Netflix recently and I have watched so many good things. ( 6 Netflix Docs You Need To Watch and Top Picks On Netflix)

Once my episode has finished or I have started to go wrinkly I get out of the bath and smoother my skin in the Lush Sleepy Body Lotion and the name of this lotion is perfect because the smell of this product makes me want to go sleep. If I have a late bath and then cover my skin in the Sleepy Lotion that is my night over, as soon as my body touches my bed I'm gone. Its great to use if I really need an early night. I also have started using a hand cream every night before I go bed even though it doesn't happen every night but I am trying. I currently have the Lush Love and Light hand cream tub beside my bed to remind me. I am finding this winter when I do remember my skin is so thankful for it later on!

Now once I have bathed and cover my whole body in the good stuff I reach for a new pair of cute pj's to put on and complete the' born again' feeling. Having a bath and then putting on dirty pj's is like bathing in dirty water, not worth it! I normally reach for my coziest pair of clean pj's and give myself a pat on the back for keeping up on the dirty bin!

Depending on what kind of day it has been and how much energy I have I like to do a face mask if I feel like my face needs one. I have fallen a little out of love with face masks recently so I only have one which I reach for when I really need  a pick me up. That is the Origin Original Skin Re Texturizing Mask with Rose Clay, one that is mentioned regularly on the blog. I like this mask because it is easy to use, doesn't make a mess and the results are easy to see straight away. Luckily my skin hasn't needed this mask much recently so I am hoping my skin have found a right balance for now.

Once my skin has been taken care of I go and see Cal for a little cuddle and then it is bed and book time for me to relax my mind. When I have a lot of things going on in my mind or I have been running around a lot for work I really need some reading time. I am a huge book worm and am currently reading Origin by Dan Brown who is one of my favourite authors. I love reading about religion, science and murder and so far this book isn't disappointing. I have all of Dan Browns previous books and I like to read them because they imaginative and they take me away from my life and what is happening around me. Usually after an hour or two of reading i am whipped out and ready for bed and I usually sleep like a baby after one of these evenings.

I hope you have enjoyed learning about my current pamper nights. Writing this has made me really one a pamper night tonight and Sundays are the perfect night for these!

New In Beauty for January

New In Beauty for January
I have needed a beauty shake up for a long while now so over this month I have collected a few new beauties to add to my stash.

First up are two foundations which I have been a fan of for a long time now right from when I first started wearing makeup. I have wrote a few blog posts about Rimmel foundations over the years and I had used up all my bottles in the past and hadn't repurchased any in a while. The current foundations in my collections just weren't doing it for my this past month so I used the Rimmel 2for12 pound -my pound sign on my laptop isn't working :(- promotion and picked up formulas I know work for me. The Lasting Finish 25 hour and the Match Perfection foundations are both easy to wear, blendable long wearing foundations which I know no matter what my face is doing on the day, this foundation will work. I'll keep you updated gals!

I've also picked up the Nyx Tame and Frame tinted brow pomade in Brunette to try since I think it is time I joined the pomade hype. Late to the game I know but I have never really been too fuzzed about brows since I'v had big boys for years, but lately they seem to look a little more sparse then normal so I think I need some help. I haven't tried it yet so I can't give you my opinion on it, lets just hope the the colour works for me!

I thought it was about time I started looking after my skin now I am 24 this year so I picked up the Clinique Pep Start Eye Cream to try and see if I like it. Whether or not I will remember to use it every day I don't know but I'm excited to give it a whirl.

Lastly I was given the Urban Decay Naked Flush palette from a friend for Christmas and I've been so busy this month I haven't actually took it out of the box yet... I'm sorry. I am really going to focus working this into my daily routine and see how I get on with it. I love Urban Decay's eye shade palettes so I know I will like the blush and contour shades, I just need to see if the shades work for me!

Getting Lippy with Tanya Burr

Getting Lippy with Tanya Burr

Following on from my post about some of my favourites Tanya Burr products from her previous collections I have collected all her lip products that I currently own to take you through the good and the great (no duds so far thank god)

In my collection I have two lip glosses and three matte liquid lipsticks which are definitely my favourite out of the two. The first lip gloss I have is a mini 5ml of her Afternoon Tea shade which I am pretty sure I got in one of her gift set boxes which is why it's a mini. It is a great natural shade which you can wear with any makeup look and I like to wear this more on no makeup days when my lips need something to protect them from the elements outside but it would feel OTT to wear any lip colour. Its a great little piece to throw in your bag because it is such a good size and if I ever need to refresh my makeup on the go I have this to hand.

My second lip gloss is a full sized 7.5ml of Lunch Date which was the first lip product from Tanya Burr that I tried. Compared to Afternoon Tea this shade is a less shinny nude which is really natural and great for the day time. Out of the two of the shades I tend to reach for Lunch Date more often just because it has that hint of nude in it and you all know how much I love anything nude.

Now onto the big boys... the matte lipsticks!!

I have a lot of matte liquid lipsticks in my makeup collection and I reach for the Tanya Burr formulas as often as I reach for my all time favourites Nyx soft matte lip creams so they get a gold star from me. Starting off with Martha Moo - the formula of this shade is sooooo good, with liquid lipsticks you need something that packs a lot of colour and the Tanya Burr formulas definitely do. Martha Moo is a rich nude shade which you can see in the swatches applies really evenly. Once it has dried down I find the formula last hours on my lips and just needs to be re applied when I have eaten. My only disappointment with the product is the packaging because the applicator is huge and makes it hard to apply the lipstick without lining my lips before hand.

The last two matte liquid lipsticks I received as a Christmas presents in the Sweet Lip Creams Christmas Set. It included two lip sticks in the shades Santa Little Helper and Blackberry Fudge which are both perfect shades for autumn winter time and Christmas. Like Martha Moo they are both super pigmented and once dried are really bold colours. Their staying power is impressive for such bright colours and only need to be reapplied once I've eaten. I wore Santa's Little Helper all over Christmas and New years because it is such a festive red. I don't have many dark purple shades in my collection so Blackberry Fudge is a welcome addition. They are both 5ml minis so once I have used them up I hope she will come out with more matte lip sticks in similar shades.

I am looking to expand my collection of Tanya Burr lip products since I have been really impressed with all the products I have purchased so far. I usually wait until a new collection is released because I know Tanya will post a make up tutorial using the products and I usually pick my favourites from her videos before I go out and buy them. If you haven't tried any of Tanya's products then get on her website and shop shop shop!

Delving into Sukin Skincare

Delving into Sukin Skincare

The brand Sukin is a relatively new skincare brand to me having only heard its name in the last few months.  It felt like one day it wasn't anywhere to be seen and the next day it was in every Boots, Superdrugs and TKMax of all places?! The whole range is massive as I have found out after researching it and there are so many products that I do want to try out. So far I have four products in my collection and all of them have pleasantly surprised me. I would class this brand as a drugstore budget brand which as your get further into the range can increase in price but the ratio between price and size of product is so much better than other brands. This is one thing I have found with Sukin products which I am really impressive with. All the products also claim to be natural and paraben free with isn't something I care too much about at this moment in time but I am beginning to care more about.

Foaming Facial Cleanser Link
This was the product that first introduced me to the brand. I was looking for a facial cleanser to use with my manual cleansing brush that I had previously bought. I had no idea what product or brand to try out and I suddenly noticed all these products in a quite natural and expensive looking packaging, like any girl I like packaging. I use this product by pumping a small amount of product onto my wet cleansing brush and then brushing the product over my wet face. It leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean and fresh so I have been reaching for this product nearly everyday after first use. I have other cleansers which I feel leave some residue on my skin after applying but with this product my face has never felt so clean. I normally use this as a double cleanse after I have used a miscellar cleansing water to remove my makeup. I really like that my skincare and makeup applies much more easily after I have used this cleanser.

Hydrating Mist Toner Link
I wasn't the biggest fan of this product when I first purchased it as it isn't like any other toner I have used. I have the Lush Eau Roma Water toner in my collection which is my holy grain toner product. I spray two pumps of the product onto a cotton pad and wipe the product over my skin and it leaves my skin fresh and clean. I tried that with this toner and it felt like I was ripping a dry flannel over my skin! This is how I have always used a toner so it baffled me why it didn't work as well as my other toners. I stopped using it for a while until one day I decide just to spray the toner directly onto my skin and pat the product in. I have no idea if this is the right way to use the product and I don't even know if it does anything for my skin but I do like using it this way and I feel like my skin likes it. I split my use of this product with my Lush toner as tbh I prefer applying the Lush toner but I do enjoy using this toner and I hope it is doing something for my skin.

Facial Moisturiser Link
Moisturisers are something I struggle with so I normally stick to the same two moisturisers but I decided to branch out and try the Sukin's versions since I liked the facial cleanser so much. I have been using this moisturiser daily since I purchased it and I really like how light weight the product is as I hate using thick moisturisers especially when I have to apply makeup. Although the product is lightweight it does really moisturise (i'm sick of that word already) my skin and make it feel nourished. I do have days when I want to slather my skin in my Origins GinZing moisturiser when I am having a bad skin day but on a day to day basis I really like using this product. I also like that it has a pump as sticking my fingers in a pot can be so unhygienic.

Moisture Restoring Night Cream Link
Lastly I picked up the moisture restoring night cream to complete my collection and see if using the full range of the collection would benefit my skin. I was lacking in a night cream before I bought this product and I was a little naughty and just used a normal cream at night... I now understand the importance of a heavy duty night cream while I sleep. I have been slathering this moisturiser on my face most nights before I get into bed and finding my skin feeling so smooth in the morning. One morning after using it I couldn't even pluck my eyebrows because my skin was still so smooth I couldn't grab the hairs! Luckily the product hasn't broken me out which I was worried about since the moisturiser is so rich. The product reminds me of jelly because every time I go to use some, it looks like it hasn't even been touched even though I prodded my finger in it the night before.

Have you tried any of the Sukin products? Do you have any recomendations?
My next product on my wish list is one of the facial oils!
TIP All the products are currently on offer!

The Best Of Tanya Burr Cosmetics

The Best Of Tanya Burr Cosmetics

I thought it was about time I wrote a whole post on one make up brand/collection that I have a growing stash off and which is one of favourites at the moment. Most of my stash are from a few of her collections with most of them still in shops as far as I am aware so I definitely think you should try these products if you haven't already!

The Face Illuminator is my all time favourite product from her collections because the product inside works really well on my skin and helps me look more alive when I don't always feel it. I use this underneath my foundation to give my skin a glow and to make me look more tanned. I love this product so much and I have 3 squeeze tubs of it in case it runs out, prepared much?! This product is only £8 and it does exactly the same as what some products which cost £30+ do so if you love the glowing from within look this is definitely up your street!

Next up is her Illuminating Powders and I have both Warm Bronze and Champagne Sorbet which are both stunning. I love bronzers and Warm Bronze is the perfect shimmery warm toned powder to use normally when you have a tan or to use with a light hand over a flat bronzer to give your cheeks a real healthy glow. I love wearing the bronzer by itself or on top of other bronzers and it always looks nice. I am not a big highlighter gal on a day to day basis but Champagne Sorbet isn't too over the top so when I am in the mood to wear something this is perfect for looking natural.

I also have the My Paradise Eye Palette which is stunning! I love all four colours and they blend together to make such beautiful looks. I am quite a boring girl when it comes to eye shadow, I like one or two shades which match that I can blend together and I am done. None of this cut crease shit I don't have time for that! So this palette is great because all four colours work well together and when I wear them they are natural on the skin and don't look like I've made too much effort.

Lastly I have my first ever Tanya Burr product if I remember correctly, the Beautifully Defined Palette (ebay) which has 3 eye shadows, a contour, a powder highlight and a small tub of my favourite face illuminator. I used this palette non stop when I first got it because it has everything you would need in it. The contour shade can look quite scary in the pan but on the cheeks it is really subtle and blends in really easily.  The 3 eye shadow shades are right up my alley with the matte and shimmer brown tones and again they blend in really easily and look really natural. Annoyingly this palette isn't sold anymore from what I can see but I can see Tanya bringing out something similar in the future (well I am hoping anyway because I would buy that too)

The main thing I have found with most of the Tanya Burr products is that they all give me glowing healthy skin and I love that a lot. If I am going on a night out or going out on a sunny day I reach for these products because I know I will look good in them even if my skin is having a hiccup that day (which is most days lately...)

I would definitely recommend Tanya Burr Cosmetics if you haven't tried them yet and I haven't even spoke about her lip products... that might have to be a separate post!
