I feel like every time I write a skincare blog post my products vary greatly but I am someone who has annoying skin which gets bored of products quite quickly and decides to act up again so I like to change it up quite frequently. For the last 2 months I have stepped back from all my lotions and potions and decreased the amount of products I use on my face (mainly out of laziness) and went back to a few old favourites.
I decided to stop using my Garnier Micellar water once I had finished the bottle as I felt like it wasn't doing anything for my skin and thought my skin problems might be down to it, so I traded that in for the Simple Kind To Skin Micellar Cleansing Water which I much prefer now. I find my skin feels more clean after I have used this where as with the Garnier Micellar water I always felt like there was residue left on my skin. I have been using this to take off my makeup at night and after I have washed my face in the morning to make sure my skin is completely clean before I put anything on it.
I've also done a very bad thing... I've bought facial wipes... I know bad blogger! A lot of people have an bad opinion about makeup wipes and I have preferred using micellar waters over wipes for years but to be completely honest I thought it couldn't hurt to use a wipe to take off my makeup now and again. I picked up the Simple Kind To Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes because unlike other wipes they aren't soaked in product so you don't feel like your skin is drenched in product after using them. I doubt I will use these every night like my micellar water but it is always handy to have them around for emergency situations (like this week when I ran out of cotton wool pads so couldn't use a micellar water to take my makeup off- I was too lazy for a cleaning balm and flannel!)
My last step in my skincare routine is the Simple Kind To Skin Facial Toner which was the product which really got me back into the brand. The bottle is nearly empty now I've used it so much because I have been obsessed with it recently. This bottle had been racking round my skincare box for months (probably too many months but ah well..) and I decided to use it one day after I took my makeup off and ever since then I have used it everyday. I find the product to feel wet when applied to the skin so it feels really refreshing, but it doesn't leave any product on my skin after it has dried which I really like.
So far so good with my new routine, I find I have spots on my chin no matter what time of the month it is, what season it is outside or whether I am in a happy place or a not so happy place so my skin still isn't perfect but I find with these few products, that my skin feels cleaner and more alive which makes me a happy Chels!

Since I moved out with my fiance in May I have learned a lot of things about myself, us and the whole process in general. Although I sometimes feel like I am talking about my house non stop on my blog... I'm bringing you another post!
Since this is my first time living away from home I had a lot to learn!
1. I can actually cook, who knew it!
I have never been an fantastic cook at home because I never needed to be, i'll be honest I was a pampered princess and loved it. So since moving out and having to cook for Cal and I, I am actually a pretty good cook! Our favourite is Toad in the hole which isn't very technical but super tasty! I've also recently been making butter and herb new potatoes which taste amazing!!
2. House pride is an actual thing
I used to make fun of my sister who would spend all her spare time cleaning and tidying her house even though no one was coming round. I have got the disease now, especially with my kitchen! It might be because it were we eat and prepare our food, it might also be because my kitchen is at the front of the house so when people walk past they can see through the window. I don't know but the kitchen has to be perfect.
3. You have to compromise when you live with someone
Cal and I are quite lucky that we have the same taste with most things so choosing decor for the house isn't too much of a challenge but I have learned you can't always get what you want. Which is fine because i'm a grown up and I don't have to have my own way... all the time!
4. It is super fun to play house
I don't know about you but I used to play house when I was younger and pretend my barbies were families with a big house and a car and babies and now I don't have to pretend! Apart from the babies I have everything I pretended my barbies had and it is so fun. Inviting our friends round and doing dinner and drinks makes us feel really grown up and cool! And then we have to tidy and clean up and the fun stops!
5. I do actually miss home
I have never been a real home sick person before I loved staying over at new places but since leaving my childhood home permanently I've realised how comfortable I felt there which is something I haven't felt yet here. Whenever I go home and visit my parents I instantly feel relaxed and comfortable as soon as I enter the house and could fall asleep at any moment because i'm so comfy. Hopefully soon my house will feel like that!
I am such a drugstore girl through and through and when I can find drugstore dupe of an expensive product you know it will probably be in my bag! Why spend loads of money on one product when you can get a cheaper product which is most of the time as good. Obviously some dupes are just plain rubbish but these beauties are definitely worth the dupe title.
The first dupe is a product I have spoken about quite a few before on my blog and I think it works just as good as the product it is a dupe for. The Newlook Fix Make Up Setting Spray is only £4.99 and I use it on my makeup sponges and brushes and on my face after I have finished my makeup. I find it really easy to use and can really see a difference when I do use it. The Mac Prep and Prime Fix spray is £18 a bottle which is smaller than the Newlook bottle so for £5 I recommend you all to give it a go!
Moving on to my favourite beauty tool ever!! I have been using the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge for months now I don't even remember the last time I used a brush! I find them so much easy to blend in foundation and cream products so I have a total of 4 in my collection. For £5.99 each or two for £10 in Superdrug you really can't go wrong! Especially since the Beauty Blender is around £16.
My last dupe is a product I have spoken about so many times before! You all know I love Newlook makeup anyway but their Velvet Matte Lip crayons are one of my favourite products in my collection. I have 4 shades in my own collection and I am waiting for the new range to be brought out! I think paying £4.99 on these lip crayons is so much more better then paying £20 for the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencils. I'm not saying I wouldn't go out and buy the Nars versions but I think i'd rather buy 4 for the price of 1 first.
I'm starting to branch out again with my makeup and try new things again so hopefully I will have more products to add to this list in a few months. I love finding dupes for expensive products because usually the dupe products are much easier to get hold of then the expensive products.

Surprisingly I have been loving the warmer weather these past few weeks and have changed up my whole makeup menu for the heat. I have been loving going for a glowy tanned look which is actually looking pretty damn good.
I have recently changed up my base routine especially for the weather as my skin needed a change. I have opted for two new foundations recently which are really working for me. First is the Rimmel Wake Me Up in True Ivory which is perfect to wear during the summer when you have a tan and want to look like a greek goddess - I wish! It gives my skin a nice even texture even when my skin isn't working with me. I love the tan it gives my face without making me look orange.
For concealer I am still using my trusty Bourjois Radiance Reveal in Ivory to brighten my eyes and my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer to cover my spots and blemishes.
On my cheek bones I have been abusing my Makeup Revolution Baked Bronzer in Golden Days which gives me the healthiest warm glow on my cheeks which on top of my bases look amazing if I do say so myself. On my eyes I have been wearing The Tanya Burr My Paradise Eye Shadow Palette which is just beautiful. Champagne Cocktail is the most beautiful golden shimmer shade which by itselfs looks amazing. I usually just use this by itself for a everyday look and if I want to add a bit more sparkle to my eyes I add Tranquility or Miami Sunrise in the outter corner or crease.
Lastly I have been loving Tanya Burr Lipgloss in Lunch Date which is a beautiful light pinky/nude lipgloss. I am not the biggest fan of lip glosses that is no secret but this one I actually do love. It isn't sticky and doesn't dry out my lips which is a bonus.
