Sweaty Betty

I never thought I would ever write a post on underarm deodorant, it's not exactly the most glamorous product to talk about but we are all grown up here and everyone sweats. Even Cheryl Cole (or whatever her new last name is) sweats! Guess that means I'm basically Cheryl Cole!

Mitchum Advanced Oxygen Odor Control Technology Pure Fresh Antiperspirant and Deodorant

I've used spray on deodorants for most of my life and they have never really worked for me. I didn't particually like the feel of roll on deodorants either so I didn't really have much choice. I bought this Mitchum Advanced Oxygen Odor Control Technology Pure Fresh Antiperspirant and Deodorant - that's a month full- about two months ago to try as I wanted to find a new good antiperspirant before the heat wave came along. It had a lot of press saying it was a good product so I forgot about my roll on past experience and decided to try it.

It's nothing like I thought it would be, the product is actually dry instead of wet and when you roll it on to your underarm area it leaves white product on the skin. It isn't a big amount that will be noticeable or rub off on your clothes so you don't need to worry. From what I have gathered since I started using it, it works be drying out your underarm skin and this stops your armpits from producing sweat. That may not be the true science of it but that is how I feel it works on my own skin.

I have used this during most of the English heat wave these past weeks and it has been a life saver. I use the roll on first thing in the morning and my underarms are still bone dry when I get home in the evening, that's what I call a good deodorant! The white particles that are left on your skin can be brushed off before you get dressed and since using this deodorant, I don't think I'll ever go back to a spray.

I was a little worried that because of the way it works, it would dry out my skin too much and leave it irritated or sensitive but luckily it drys your underarms enough to stop you from sweating and stops there. Other people have commented saying that the product  has dried out their skin too much and left it sore but I guess I am a lucky one.

The roll ons do cost around £3.20 which can sound expensive when you can get other brands for just a pound, but I feel like the roll on with last such a long time compared to other brands. I may be wrong about that so if you buy one and it lasts only a month I'm sorry don't come after me! To me, paying £3 for something that works really well at stopping me sweating is a good price, especially since it seems like it will last a good amount of time.

W7 Absolute Lashes | Benefit They're Real Dupe

Isn't finding a good dupe for an expensive brand the best feeling ever? As much as I love some of Benefits products, I don't practically love some of the price tags. Especially when a mascara is around £20 and I wear it probably about 2-3 times a week. Even though I am not a big mascara wearer (due to plain laziness) I do like to have really good mascaras in my collection, especially for them special occasions.

Lush Dark Angels Cleanser

Lush, Dark Angels, Cleanser, charcoal, rhassoul

My Lush collection is getting quite impressive now a days and my latest purchase is a new cleanser, like I need any more skincare..

Pure Lips

This year Newlook have re-branded their makeup and put a bit of money behind actually making it look like a proper makeup range like you would find in boots. I was a fan of their makeup when it was the Kelly Brook range and so really wanted to try out their new and improved formulas.

Lush Shampoo Bar | Jumping Juniper

lush, shampoo, bar, jumping, juniper,

Something I have been really excited to try for a long while from Lush has been the shampoo bars. I think they are a brilliant idea and wanted to see if they worked as good as I imagined they do.

I finally picked up two shampoo bars from the Northampton store two weeks ago and the one I am going to talk about today is the Jumping Juniper.

It claims to give your hair a really deep clean and works at soothing, cleansing and clearing your scalp and giving your hair it's shine back. Who loves freshly washed shiny hair?! The ingredients include lavender, rosemary, lemon and lime oils. These all sound good to me who has a some what basic knowledge of harmful ingredients.

I have been having problems with my hair and scalp for a little while and it caused me to throw out all my shampoos and conditioners because they all irritated my skin. I've been very careful since about what shampoos and conditioners I put on my scalp. This shampoo bar hasn't irritated my scalp at all which I am really happy about.

It lathers up so much with only a little rub of the product. I tend to wet my hair underneath the shower and then rub the bar across the top of my head and underneath at the bottom, I then move the product all around my head until my whole hair is covered in shampoo-y goodness. After I have washed it out my hair feels so clean, it reminds me of when you have just brushed your teeth and you can physically make a squeaky noise when you rub them because they are completely cleaned. Does anyone know what I'm talking about or is that just me?!

Another thing about this product is the smell. Oooooo the smell! For big sweet tooths like me you will love the smell of this bar as it smells of sour fruit sweets, it is so refreshing and really wakes you up. Some mornings when I can't get out of bed I take a few sniffs of this bar and I'm good to go. Sounds very strange but it works.

If you haven't tried the Lush shampoo bars then you are missing out in my opinion. I am going to use up my current one and then move onto my other bar which I bought with it, I'll let you know which one that is when I get around to using it!

4 Things I've Been Loving In July

monthly, favourites, july, benefit, lush, years and years, ipad, hoola, enchanted eye cream,

This month I purchased the Lush Enchanted eye cream to try out the product that a lot of bloggers and YouTubers were raving about. I have reached for it so much this month because it  hydrates my eyes so well and give them a bit of boost when I am sleep deprived, which is pretty often since I spend most nights reading books till 12.

I didn't like the Benefit Hoola bronzer when I first purchased it as I thought it didn't suit my skin tone and was un-natural. Fast forward a few months (quite a few actually) And I am in love with it. I don't feel like I have more of a tan on my face but I find the bronzer is must more flattering on my face lately. I understand the hype about it.

When I buy an entire album on iTunes after only hearing a few songs on it, I must really like the band and Years and Years are fast becoming one of my favourites at the moment. I loved King when it first came out and I love Shine even more. After buying the album I've become obsessed with Desire and Gold.

Three Make Up Removers For Every Kind Of Mood

There are so many different products today to remove makeup that it can be a little confusing when your on the lookout for a new product to try. I have three sure fire products that work great to remove my makeup and are all completely different for the different moods i'm in.

Make up removers garnier micellar water simple cleansing wipes lush ultrabland facial cleanser

The All Rounder - Lush Ultrabland Cleanser
This cleanser is amazing at melting your makeup off, the best make up remover I have every used hands down. It doesn't irritate your skin or even your eyes so it is the dream. The pot lasts for ages considering how often I have used it so it ticks all the boxes for me. I wish I had the energy and time to use this every night but sometimes I do take the easy way out...

The Lazy One - Simple Kind To Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes
Everyone uses this option after a night out or a late night because its just so easy to get it done in a few seconds and it still removes all your makeup in one go. I boycotted facials wipes for years after I heard people saying that they were really bad for your skin and look at me now, I keep a pack on my side in case I can't be bothered to go to the bathroom to remove my make up (bad I know...)

The Other One - Garnier Micellar Water
We all have that one product that we only reach for if we run out of our favourite product. Mine is this micellar water which does the job perfectly but isn't as good as the Lush Cleanser or as easy as the Simple Facial Wipes. Sometimes when I want a change I will whip out this product so that I don't get bored of using the same product.

Best finds on eBay and Tips!

I have been buying clothes on eBay for years now thanks to my sister getting me hooked on following some really good users and recently a lot more people have been talking about their own finds on eBay which makes me very happy as before, a lot of people wouldn't buy clothes on eBay or they wouldn't admit to it.

Today I am going to show you my five favourite items I have found on eBay over the years and give you a few tips on buying clothing on eBay because their are some snags you have to watch out for.

Firstly here are a few tips when you are buying anything on eBay...

#Always check the measurements! Just because it says uk size 10 doesn't mean it will fit you if it is from china. Use a tape measure to measure your assets and check them against the guide.

#Check the country - If you are looking for an outfit to wear in the next few weeks, check where the item is being sent from. If its not England don't expect to see your clothes until next month at the earliest.

#Check the material - Some times from places like china, they show amazing chiffon shirts and dresses but when they come to your door they are a horrible static see through material and they end up going in your bin. So check what the description says it made from.

Now let me show you my five favourite purchases on eBay to date, half of these I have wrote a post on already so you know that these are loved and worn.

del boy coat eBay
I absolutely love this coat and practically live in it when the weather is cold. It is a really nice warm material and although I have worn it to death last year it still looks brand new. I wrote a whole blog post about it here.

little black dress eBay
This dress is one of my favourite presents I have ever received, My sister bought me this on eBay about 2 years ago and as you can see from the photo I was much skinner back then (that was when I was addicted to the gym I think) so the dress looked great at the time. Sadly I don't fit in the dress anymore because I have become a whale in comparison to then but I still keep the dress in my wardrobe waiting until the day I can show it some love again.

little black dress eBay
This dress I bought for my Christmas party last year and even though I was as sick as a dog at the party, I loved my dress and can't wait for a new occasion to wear it and give it a better night then what I allowed my sick self to have at Christmas. This dress is so girlie and fitted me perfectly (although I didn't really have the boobs to fill it :()

Owl shirt eBay
This owl shirt I have also talked about before both here and here. It is the prettiest design and is quite baggy so I can wear it tucked into skirts or shorts but also wear it really loose with leggings or jeans. I have quite a large collection of pattern shirts I wear during the colder months and this is one of my favourites.

ebay pink shiffon shirt
Lastly is this gorgeous chiffon waterful blazer in this pretty pale pink colour which my sister got me for my birthday or Christmas a few years ago. It goes lovely on top of dresses for a formal look but it also goes nice with jeans and a plain top.

If you were debating whether to buy the cute dress you saw on eBay but were a little cautious because it is eBay, as long as you check the info in the descriptions you should have no problems. I have bought quite a lot of things on eBay and even now I still get stuff and think 'that's rubbish' and end up not keeping it but that's the fun of ordering.

Please also remember that if you are buying a dress for £3-5 you are getting a item worth £3-5. Yes some things from china are amazing quality like some of my finds but they are still cheap so don't expect Zara worthy products and you'll be fine.
