Drugstore Liquid Lipsticks Collection

Drugstore Liquid Lipsticks Collection

I have collected quite a few liquid lipsticks in the last few months since they become the new thing and after trying one and two from NYX I just wanted to have them all. I have the products from three different brands and as you can tell I definitely have my favourites.

The first brand I tried was Collection and their Velvet Kiss Lip Creams are only £2.99 which is a right bargain- which is why I bought four... I have the shades Caramel 2 which is a brown nude, Cotton Candy 1 which is a pink nude and then I bought two of the darker shades in Mulberry 5 and Blackberry 6 which are nice autumnal shades. The colours are really lovely but I find that the darker shades do come out quite patchy, they also dry my lips out to hell which makes them quite uncomfortable to wear on the lips. I thought it might just be my lips which were making them uncomfortable since I have the driest lips on earth but even my sister found they dried out her lips so I can't tell you how long this products last as I have taken it off every time I have applied it because it was uncomfortable. Sadly I don't think I will get much wear out of this creams.

I also purchased three Bodyshop Matte Lip Liquid in the shades Windsor Rose 032 which is a brown nude, Crete Carnation 030 which is is pink nude and Tahiti Hibiscus 016 which is a vibrant pink-red shade. I find that all the brands do very similar colours which means I end up with a lot of the same colours in my collection but I don't mind having 10 different nudes. The Bodyshop Lip Liquids are £6 each which isn't a too bad price considering you get more product then in the other packaging. Unlike the Collection Liquid Lipsticks I find the Bodyshop products tend to be a little bit  patchy in the lighter shades rather than the darker shades especially the brown nude so I do use two layers when I wear that shade just to make sure I have a even colour. Tahiti Hibiscus is the perfect pink-red shade for the a night out when you want your lips to last all night and the consistency of it is amazing, I do find that it lasts longer on my lips then my two nudes shades as well. I find this shade is least drying out of the three as well so where as the nude shows up any lines or dry patches on your lips, Hibiscus glosses over like a lip gloss and dries comfortably and leaves your lips with a subtle sheen. Can you tell how much I love this shade?! There is one down side to this shade, the product takes a while to dry on the lips so you have to be careful not to touch anything before they dry, otherwise you get the colour everywhere. It also comes off when you eat in the middle of your lips which isn't ideal.

My favourite brand for liquid lipsticks so far is definitely everyone's favourite NYX, I jumped on the bang wagon and have been in love with the brand every since. I have three shades in their Soft Matte Lip Creams and I am planning on increasing that number in the next few months but it is hard to know which shades to get, I do feel like I buy the same shades all the time (you can tell just by looking at all these liquid lipsticks!). I currently have in my collection Abu Dhabi which is brown nude, Cannes which is a pink/dark brown nude and San Paulo which is a bright pink/red similar to Tahiti Hibiscus but a little lighter. I find myself reaching for these lipsticks the most because the pigmentation of all the shades is amazing and the product is so buttery it applies so easily. Whether my lips are having a dry day or they are feeling pretty normal these lipsticks sit tight all day and only need reapplying when I have eaten. The thing I love most about this lipsticks is that they are so creamy they apply really well so I don't end up with any patches and it doesn't look like I am wearing anything on my lips. Where as with the Bodyshop lipsticks they can accentuate the lines on your lips and make it obvious you have product on them, the NYX lipsticks don't do this.

3 Party Reds

I do love an occasional red lip like any girl and like most people, I have my favourites. These always come out doing the festive season more than any other time of the year and here are my 3 favourite reds for any festive party.

This liquid lipstick is so luxurious and perfect if you are planning on painting the town red all night (see what I did there), it lasts all night and doesn't need any topping up which makes it great for a night out. This is a great pinky red which I like to pair with a red lip liner and a soft contour on the cheeks. This is a product that rarely lives my makeup draw to be honest because it is a very eye catching colour on the lips and I don't feel like I can get away with it on a daily basis, but for a night out it is perfect for drawing attention.

This red lipstick is gorgeous in every way. The product is so hydrating and moisturising on the lips which I don't find with many other red lip products. I love having this product on my lips and the three shades that I have in my collection are really loved. It feels more of a lip balm then a lipstick when it is on your lips which is the main reason I love it as I have severely dry lips. This does bleed if you don't use a lip liner and you do have to be careful not to go crazy with the tub otherwise you will end up with lipstick all over your chin, but this is my truest red shade so this is what I like to call my 'party girl red'.

This lipstick is an old favourite of mine and I mentioned it last year in my Autumn Red post and a year later it is still one of my favourites. It is super long lasting, great for a night out on the tiles and easy to reapply on the go.  This is a red shade which has pink undertones in it similar to the Dior Fluid Stick but doesn't have as much as a impact. This is my 'can't go wrong' throw it in the bag lipstick which come in very handy during this season.

Do you have any recommendation for great red lipsticks for dry lips?

The Anti Matte Lip Products

The Anti Matte Lip Products

With all the hype around matte liquid lipsticks that seems to be everywhere right now I thought I would share with you some my most treasured moisturising lip products in my collection. Now I am not hating or bashing matte lip products in any way I have quite a few Nyx Matte Lip Cream in my collection which I really like.

First of I have a Max Factor Lipstick in the shade Sun Bronze 837 which is a gorgeous mauve shade which has very subtle sparkles in and leaves my lips with a glossy hydrating finish. Another brand of lipsticks which are perfect when my lips are having a dry spell are the Bodyshop Lipstick which don't have a name which is very annoying. I have the shade 11, which I haven't used used yet if I am honest because it is a very little shade compared to my skin tone, and the shade 13 which is again my favourite shade of mauve. It is really moisturising on the lips and like the Max Factor lipstick leaves a nice glossy finish on the lips.

A group of lipsticks that I have talked about some many times on this blog are the Clinique Colour Pop lipsticks which I bloody love to bits. They are super moisturising and the colours look lovely on the lips, these are great lip products for the summer when your lips need a little TLC but you also want a popping colour on the lips.

My last lip stash that I absolutely love to give my lips some moisture on a day to day basis are the Rimmel Moisture Renew and Sheer and Shine formulas. I know everyone is going crazy for the new Rimmel Matte Lipsticks right now but these will always be my all time favourite Rimmel Lip products. These are so glossy and balm like that you feel like you you aren't even wearing a lipstick on your lips. The best thing about these lip products? They are glossy and luxurious on the lips but don't lack in colour and pigment. I find with some moisturising lip products that they run of your lips or rub on a glass or when your eat. The colour of these lipsticks is really pigmented and lasts a lot longer than other lipsticks.

Pure Lips #3

newlook, Pure Colour, makeup, range, beauty, lipsticks, highstreet, tkmax, shades, autumn,

Newlook have done it again and created some amazing shades for the autumn winter months and I have already got my hands on some of them before they re-brand their makeup all over again (which I am very excited about). Before I purchased these new shades I did sort out of my makeup and give away some of my less used shades in my lip collection so I now keep all of my Newlook lipsticks in this little cute lipstick holder from TKMax.

I am embracing the dark lip for once this year and have purchased a few darker shades then I am used to, one of them is the Dark Brown lipstick in shade number 27. The name isn't very imaginative but it describes the shade perfectly and although it is a dark brown shade, I think it is very wearable and won't look too out of place on a day to day basis. I tried it on at home the day I bought it and at first I was a bit like woah, but once I had got used to it I really liked the colour on me. I am tried to expand my lip colour range so I don't spend another few months with permanent dark berry lips!

I also bought the Mid Brown shade in the number 24 which is a light brown/pinky nude all rolled into one lipstick. I really like this colour and although I have about ten thousand nude lipsticks, I am glad I now have this in my collection. It is super easy to wear with any makeup look and suits my skin tone perfectly.

My last lipstick with a more inventive name is the shade Cinamon 81 which is a peachy-orangey shade which is very autumn appropriate. Some people only link autumn and winter with dark shades but I think this is a perfect autumn shade as it reminds me of orange leaves and the brilliant burnt orange shade we get in clothing shops. I am not a big fan of orange lip shades but this lipstick is a very loved addition to my collection and I suspect with be used a lot in the next few months.

Lip Loving | The Rimmel Edition

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipsticks

I have recently discovered a new formula of lipstick that is rivaling all my other lipsticks in my stash. If I am being honest I have worn hardly any lip products during this winter. Now it is time for Spring so I need to get into gear and get my lips looking lip-tastic. That was really bad I'm sorry...

I wanted to try out a new formulation of lipstick to combat my severely dry lips I have had to endure this winter and the Rimmel Moisture Renew lipsticks caught my eye. I picked up the 200 Latino shade first to try out and I was amazed at how soft they made my lips feel. I have had dry cracked lips for months now but with just one layer of this lipstick my lips were super soft, moisturized and super pigmented. The colours of these lipsticks are really pigmented for moisturising lipsticks which I was surprised about. They don't seem to last too long because of their formula but I don't mind about that. My lips have not dried out once since wearing these lipsticks which is a big bonus for me, once the colour as faded from my lips I just reapply the lipstick and I'm good to go.

#Wanna know what the best thing about these lipsticks are?! You can find them super easy in your handbag because of the silver and purple packaging, how handy!

I have four of the normal Moisture Renew lipsticks and two Moisture Renew Sheer and Shine formula which I am loving just as much. Since first trying out the formula I have bought another five lipsticks in the shades 700 Better and Brighter, 180 Vintage Pink, 220 Heather Shimmer, 380 Dark Night Waterl-oops and 400 Good Mauve.

My favourite at the moment is 220 Heather Shimmer for a a really glossy nude!

Pure Lips

This year Newlook have re-branded their makeup and put a bit of money behind actually making it look like a proper makeup range like you would find in boots. I was a fan of their makeup when it was the Kelly Brook range and so really wanted to try out their new and improved formulas.

A Look At Avon Lipsticks

Avon Lipsticks

Avon Lipsticks

Avon are a well known brand of make up who don't get mentioned very much in the blogging world, which is a shame because I love their lipsticks so much. They are my favourite brand to collect lipsticks of and the best thing about them is that they come at great prices. They always have deals on in their brochures and this has resulted in me having a good collection of them.

I tend to pick up a Avon lipstick more than any other brand because their formulas are so good. Every lipstick I own is really moisturising on the lips so they improve the condition of my lips while I am wearing them. The colours always transfers the same on the lips as they are on the stick so you don't need to worry about the colour coming out different on your lips. Since they are sooo moisturising they do tend to not last as long as other lip products but I can get over that and I personally don't mind just reapplying them now and again.

I have 6 lipsticks from different ranges from the brand but non of them have the range names on them so I can only give you their names, sorry about that :)

My most used lipstick is called Rosy Gold and it is a shimmery dark pinky/red which looks great with all styles of make up. I love wearing this shade when I have no other make up on just to give my face a little something. I then have Chilli this lovely dark red shade which is one of my favourite red shades to wear in the colder months. I have a bright shimmery pink which is very girlie for the summer called Imperial Pink. Next is my second favourite shade which is a more subtle shimmery pink called Pink Pop. Then I have a natural soft pink called Pink Cooler which is great for non make up days. Lastly is this pale lilac shade which comes out as a lovely nude on the lips called Lilac Shimmer.

After going through all my Avon lipsticks I now have the urge to go get a brochure and have a nosey at some different colours. Let me know if you have any Avon shades that you love!

Naughty H&M Beauty Haul

I recently found myself on H&M's website browsing for some sale treats when I was bored one evening and I noticed that for that day I could get free delivery, and so I had to buy at least something, you cant pass up free delivery! Anyway I got the end of the clothes pages and I haven't found anything that I liked enough to order (I'm rather picky when it comes to ordering clothes online) and so I felt quite defeated.

Then I noticed the beauty products page and I couldn't resist looking... Low and behold half an hour later I had ordered 3 blushers, a bronzer, a lipstick and two face masks...opps.

Now I love going in to Boots and spends ages going up and down the different make-up ranges and taking ages to pick which ones I'm actually going to leave it (I can go a bit crazy) but I also love trying out cosmetics from fashion retailers, I've found some gems over the last year. So I thought I'd try out these few bits... I'll leave some links to the items on the website if you want to take a look yourself.

First of all, I put some face masks in my basket (shock) for just 99p, YES 99p! You have no excuse not to use face masks when they cost less than a pound! Anyway I picked up a Goji Berry Superfruit Mud mask and a Coconut water Moisture mask, the mud mask is meant to tone and the moisture mask is meant to protect. I saw them on the website and thought they sounded nice and would smell amazing.

Next I added a bronzing power in 'Dark Tan' to my basket ready for the summer, compared to amount of blushers I have I needed a bigger choice of bronzers (only had two at the time) and so I thought I would give it a go. Its more of a golden shade than a brown like other bronzers are, I think it will be nice in the summer and on holiday when I have a tan. To view the bronzer then click here.

I have wanted a dark lipstick for the winter probably since before November all thanks to Zoella and I hadn't seen any that caught my eye really or that I thought suited me, and then I saw this shade when I was looking through the makeup and got a little excited. It is a gorgeous plum colour called 'Wild Thing' and It didn't disappoint me when it finally arrived. As soon as I opened it up I had to put it on straight away and then planned my outfit that day all around it. It lasted all day but over the hours it did become a little bit more subtle, but that may have been me just getting used to having darks lips. I would definitely recommend this lipstick to people who may be a bit scared of wearing a darker lipstick, it not so dark that you would be mistaken for looking dead like some lipsticks. If you want to try out the lipstick then click here.

Finally I went a little bit crazy with the blushers on the website, I basically couldn't decide between two of them so I decided to just get them all as it was free delivery (slaps wrist). The first one I knew as soon as I saw it on the page I was definitely going to buy it. The shade is called 'Pink Dahla' and it is a bright pink which is just gorgeous. To find this blush click here.

The next blusher is a peach shade which is more for the casual everyday look but I think it will become one of my favourites that I go to a lot, called 'Dazzling Peach'. When I wore this blusher out for the day with my sister, quite a few people asked about it and complimented me about it. The colour really suited me and it gave my cheeks a really natural glow and really made cheek bones come out. Definitely a blusher I would recommend! To find this shade click here.

The last blusher I purchased is called 'Sweet Rose' and again it is more of a daytime blusher that I think I will get a lot of use out of. It is a really nice colour on the skin, I wore it with a BB cream that is a little darker than my normal skin tone and they really complimented each other. If your interested in this shade click here.

And that is my little H&M beauty haul which shouldn't have happened but ah well... If you like any of the products check them out. I've been really surprised at how nice these products are for a high street clothing chain. :)

Revlon Lip Butters

During the summer I purchased some highly recommended Lip Butters by Revlon and I fell in love, seriously I have used them so so much since I purchased them. If I couldn't buy another lip product for the rest of my life, I think I'd be alright.

First of all I love the packaging of this lip product, I love that they are more square then circle and the design makes them look more expensive that they actually are. They really aren't expensive at all and I usually get them in Boots 3for2 promotion so that's even better!

I have four colours in the lip butters, the four I think are most wearable. The first colour is called 'Pink Lemonade' (047) and is a lovely pale baby pink colour which looks great if you are wearing a lot of eye make up, it gives your lips a peachy/pink colour and doesn't look too much for a casual make up look. I always go to this product when I don't have anywhere special to go or have dressed really casual that day.

My next colour is call 'Tutti Frutti' (015) and it is a really rich orange colour. I personally have found that I don't really suit this colour, I think the colour is too orange for me, I think I would suit more of a coral shade rather than this bright orange. But it is still a nice shade that would look great during the summer months with bright coloured clothes, maybe it would suit me more when I'm on holiday and I have a tan? Maybe, I won't write it off for me just yet.

My next colour is called 'Sweet Tart' (090) and it is a really rich pink, it is a really wearable pink and looks great with both minimal and bold make up. I found this shade is very much like my Collection 2000 Lasting colour lipstick in shade 'Sweet Tart' (8) but the Revlon Lip Butters are more creamy and moisturising on my lips.

My last shade is definitely my favourite, 'Wild Watermelon' (063). The colour is amazing, a really nice red shade that isn't too bold, doesn't take over your face and suits most skin tones I've found. I love this colour a lot and wear it so often. I definitely prefer wearing this lip butter to any actually red lip stick, and I have a lot red lipsticks in my collection (all different shades of course, I'm not silly)

I would definitely recommend these lip butters so go try them out if your like bright coloured lip products that really moisturise your lips while you wear them :)
